  • very efficient nest builder..cool vid

  • I just watched a wasp build a home out of clay

If those little fuckers invent concrete i'm moving to the moon

  • And then, it rained

  • WOOW! Its mud-playing skill is wayyyyy better than mine!!

  • Your lucky you didnt piss it off

  • they got wifi built in the ass called iwasp

  • STINGS ARE RARE MY BUTT.THEY ALWAYS STING YOU IF U GET TOO CLOSE.AND AUDIOWIZ,SHE WASN'T ATTACKED BY FRIGGIN YELLOW JACKETS.THESE LOOK NOTHING LIKE YELLOW JACKETS.GOD...THIS DUDE WAS SO WRONG.DON'T GET TOO CLOSE.

  • @purrrplecomet At work we have a crazy amount of daubers flying all around us and I have yet heard of anyone ever being stung by them. I could sit right next to their nests with no problems.

  • @thybigballs then talk to Dr. Miles H. Bader.he knows everything about insects.wich ones sting.how they work.how they catch food.how to trick them wit boric acid treats.if u talk 2 him u will learn they sting.unless u don't have a mud dauber.could be a different parasitic wasp that just looks like a mud dauber that doesn't sting.

  • @purrrplecomet I didn't exactly say they couldn't sting. I'm simply saying there are no stories of us ever being stung by one and these things are everywhere and so are their nests. It's almost like there's too many of them. They like making nests on our equipment which can be a problem sometimes as this causes malfunctions to occur. I suppose you would really have to work at it to get one of them to sting you but we have no fear of these guys at all.

  • @thybigballs :/ i can just tell you they sting with no problem. anyway, they DO sting people.their sting is much like a hornet's,and they have no stinger.they just touch you, stick their abdomen on your arm,and it might swell and be red for about a month.though mud daubers are NOT poisoness AT ALL.they just sting.that's all.i was wrong that they sting u if u get too close that was yellow jacket i was reading.anyway,it's possible to get stung.but not harmful.little swelling and rdness, but that it.

  • STINGS OR NOT FRIGGIN RARE.DR. MILES H. BADER RULED OUT THAT WHILE THE MUD DAUBERS AEW AT WORK FIGHTNING ADN KILLING THE INSECTS THEY WILL STING YOU.

  • dude they sting u if u get too close.they do though kill pests!

  • I see that kind of wasp regularly, at my home...that's a pretty sweet wasp!

  • Comment removed

  • yeah that was freakin cool!

  • shiiit, these are what I've been seing in my garden lately by the mud....and yeterday we found a huge freakin nest by my window....WTF should I dooooo hate these wasp, damn scary

  • @Payitnov If you have spider problems let the daubers stay around. They won't bother you at all.

  • Well....even though they're ugly as sin (minus the blue mud daubers), I have to say that these guys might be the ONLY wasp I'm comfortable around. My most recent experience with a wasp (a bald faced hornet actually) didnt end too well for the bug. Sprayed the sucker while she was building her nest, let out a battle cry and chopped its head off with an ice scrapper.

  • @Miser1983 lmfao

  • That's so fucking cool

  • like wow this video just blew my mind im amazed by this little bug :)

just look how it build's it home and it's movement when it pick's up the mud

    and how it shape's it

  • 1:21 FUCK STICKS

  • People don't realize how gentle these creatures are. They're so nice. I've walked around with one on my hand and they just chill. These may look like masty little bugs, but they're quite nice.

  • Spider jail!

  • Is there a holy man of any religion who can tell me what purpose their god had for this particular type of wasp?

  • @Megido they trap and eat any spiders they can trap in these things. sounds like a pretty good deal to me. read the article on cracked that talks about them and links to this video

  • @lanelewis Cracked is how I came across the video. Personally, I don't hate spiders. I don't like them, and I'd rather not have them anywhere near me, but this seems soooo pointless, lol. However, if they took out trap door spiders then I'd be all for it. Those things are creepy as shit.

  • @Megido ugh i hate spiders as much as just about anything. but god yeah the trap door spiders might be the most terrifying things on earth. anything to get those things killed would be a blessing

  • @Megido I'm pretty sure they're the local predators for the spiders, you don't need God for that on really

  • @Anadorn I'm not saying you need God. In fact, quite the opposite. I'm confused as to what the point of building mud prisons is. Tons of other species of wasps don't do it, and they survive just fine. Evolution does some weird things.

  • wasp: fuck!! I forgot to put the spider, silly me!!!

  • Absolutely beautiful little thing.

  • 1:10 a small fly comes by and is like "WTF is that!?"

  • What is that connecting it's body parts? I mean, what tissue? It's very thing.

  • wasps are scary but i prefer them sooo much more than fuckin' spiders

  • There's a mud dauber nest at my school but it's abandoned, we didn't know that until like three days later when it fell off and nothing came out. LULZ

  • how can you tell if it's a mud nest or termite mud tunnel?

  • I was once attacked and covered by a whole nest of these type of wasps.

To this day I am scared to death of bees of any kind

  • @OrchidJayne I was stung only once by a wasp and I'm terrified. What freaks me out is how they're shaped.

  • @Deradundrum They're shape is really creepy. Also how they hover.

  • @OrchidJayne I thought mud daubers were not defensive or social. I read that they do not sting you unless you mishandle one.

  • @thatguyyoudontfeel

They are VERY defensive and social only with their hive. The reason I was attacked by the

nest was because it was disturbed. I was outside of a buisness where a family member

worked and was playing with the owners son's dog. The dog had gone down a hill where

there was a creek. came back up. When I touched the dog's head I was covered head to toe with bees.

The dog got the worst of it. He had been stung 30 times and had to spend a couple nights at the vet

    hospital

  • @OrchidJayne Mud daubers are solitary wasps that construct small nests of mud in or around homes, sheds, and barns and under open structures, bridges and similar sites. Wasps usually evoke a great deal of anxiety or fear. However, solitary wasps such as the mud daubers do not defend their nest the way social wasps such as hornets and yellowjackets do. Mud daubers are very unlikely to sting, even when thoroughly aroused. They may sting if mishandled. (I pulled this off an Iowa Insect info site)

  • @CircaCream

Thank you for the info. Good to know for future reference.

  • @OrchidJayne Are you sure they were mud daubers? I know theres a couple of paper wasps that kinda look like mud daubers, so maybe thats what you got stung by.

  • @Miser1983

I was told by someone that they were. But maybe not. They sure look like them though.

  • @OrchidJayne Bee's look FUZZY this is a wasp and is as closely related to ants as they are to bees. The mud dauber pictured here is a solitary wasp and it is extreamly rare to have it sting someone.

  • @fdeldredge I know most bees are fuzzy except for hornet, yellow jacket etc. I was attacked by a nest of wasp

I was told it was a mud dauber. Hence the nest being near a creek and in the mud. It says that they are solitary wasps. But when a nest is disturbed and the queen killed any nest will defend.

  • @OrchidJayne same thing happened to me dude..i am fucken petrified of wasps...and other bees as well...i feel like a bitch because there so small..but everything about them creeps me out

  • @StatenIzzy1

I too am afraid of all bees. It takes a real man to admit he has fears and to share them. Thank you.

I am glad to know that I am not alone and I have you to thank.

  • @OrchidJayne haah the funny thing about me is i will get up close to a tarantula ,a snake, a crocdile, anything idc...but bees just scare the fuck out of me..their legs..their stingers, their eyes, and their speed, and when they squad up and attack

  • @OrchidJayne That kind of wasp isn't agressive...unless you act as a threat to them...

  • @OrchidJayne These types of wasps are solitary, and do not aggressively defend their nests. You were probably attacked by yellow jackets.

  • what if u cut that little string holding their ass on? can they fly

  • I want it dead....all wasps dead plz

  • Amazing video. these creatures are real potters. Its amazing how they look for places in the mud that have the least amount of rocks and make their ball. creation is beautiful.

  • When these guuys do that with there antenas, they are cute. But they are dangerouse.

  • These wasps scare the crap out of me. I mean they are so freaky looking. When they fly around and their stinger hands down it just scares the crap out of me.

  • Great video! I've got one building a nest on my front door window. I love these wasps... they kill tons of spiders! I just wish they'd build their nest on a wall away from the front door!

These Mud Dauber wasps are NOT aggressive.... I'd rather have them around any day over spiders!

  • @GulfCoastGirl5 and they wont mess with u like regular wasps (unless u mess with thier nest)

  • I still think the only good wasp is a dead wasp. Use my handy dandy can of spray and then my size 13 shoe! great tag team :)

  • @whiteyak5 i have to agree with you on that one i hate these little bastards building their adobe shitty huts on my house i dont think so i slap them sons a bitchs down in a heart beat.

  • @darkangelglue500 I have a whole flipping community of them building nests in my garage attic! So I have had to take the offensive because although they may be good at clearing house on spiders they are also great at freaking the hell out of you. There huge! Plus i like the spiders, they dont bug me and i dont bug them, they also kill alot of other pests.

  • @whiteyak5 I don't like spiders at all I have gotten bitten by a Brown Recluse but luckily I went to the hospital before it started eating my flesh, and i also got bit by a Banana Spider which hurt but they are not poisonous.

  • it lookslike it doesn't need an ass since that yellow straw part looks so breakable.

  • those things live in my house cuz i live in the woods and they dont sting they are not so bad

  • lol he wauz wiping his face so cute

  • im sscared of does things but it is interesting how they build

  • That is so cool. Doing what it needs to do to survive and carry on.

I read somewhere that humans used to be like that.

Man. I heard that these things don't sting. They sure look like they do. All buzzing around and stuff.

But not this one. It looks pretty happy and content. Just hard at work. Without complaint or hesitation.

    nature is cool.

  • beautiful

  • I love dirty daubers, i would breed them if i could lol. they are laid back and just want your dirt...give it to them!

  • They might be creepy but remember that they're essentially harmless. They're not aggressive like other wasps and they take out spiders.

  • Fair enough, but you make it sound like that because they take out spiders that's a plus point. You do realise spiders are superb natural pest controllers?

  • @HovisSteve would you rather want your house surrounded by mud daubers, or the black widow spiders that they prefer? take your pick...

  • GREAT vid!

  • fuck man, these things are building nets all over my porch, 4 on my last count. i even got one on my fuckin front door so I have to duck right under it whenever i leave the house. I just open it real quick and run for my car as fast as i can hahaha. fortunately when i get back from work it's dark out and their nests are sealed up probably with them sleeping inside. they say they aren't aggressive towards humans but i'm still terrified of these bastards.

  • @schwarg i literally have the same exact situation. Like exactly. They might be "harmless" but they scare the shit outta me.

  • I shot the head off of one with an airsoft pistol and it wriggled around for about two hours. It had a bad mud dauber day.

  • yo, this thing was in my bathroom just watching me...i was soo scared i couldn't move. I thought it was goona end my life or something it was crazy...of course I ended up killing it with some type of hornet spray

  • Why "of course"?!?!?!?!?!?!!?

"Of course" would be that you don't destroy the life on Earth.

  • man that thing works fast! wish some of my co-founders were this productive...

and i found out they are really docile, i was sitting next to one while it was picking up mud from a puddle

  • I let a few of these nest along the sides of my house cause the hunt down spiders.

  • I had one their nests on the side of my house, bashed it open and saw lots of dead spiders fall out.

  • ummmm......ewwy

  • that thing looks freaky

    looks kinda lethal lol

  • My god! makes my skin crawl just looking at it. Props on making the video, more guts than I have. I would be running to the next county if i came that close!

  • Amazing skil of the little creature. Nice video.

  • that is not a sc. caementarium. the caementarium's wrist is black, and the femur-3 is always black too, while the specimen in the video has a yellow wrist and the femur-3 is both yellow and black . I would say it's a sceliphron destillatorium, or a sc. spirifex

  • He is right....

  • Correct, is S. spirifex as far as I can see in the vid,

  • Yea, that's a spirifex. caementarium have a black waist and yellow band at the start of their abdomen.

  • i fuccen hate these things with the long sick nd that ball

  • they are creepy... no doubt

  • Amazing little creature

  • those wasps freak me the fuck out every time i see them around my house! even since im alergic to bees!

  • nice job man,

  • wtf is that shit
