Everyday I offer them pellets, seeds and I cook for them. I offer fresh fruits and vegatables (desc. below). Some birds may leave the pellets if you offer seed too (mine like pellets). A lovebirds diet should be varied. I cook birdie cornbread for them, I cook brown rice and mix in hard boiled egg, and mixed vegatables. I also serve cut up sweet potato and fruit. Frozen vegetables (peas and corn are favorites) and easy. Buy the frozen kind run under hot water, until thawed and serve.
They now live in the same cage. This was after quarantining Jimmy when I got him, and watching them interact together during supervised out of the cage playtimes. Once I saw that there was no aggression, I allowed them to spend a few hours at a time in the cage, but still had them sleep in different cages. Eventually, they slept together and lived in the same cage during the day 100% of the time. I will still have to watch them because it could always change.
Nothing is every a guarentee. I am not even sure that these are both males. I know Eddie is a male because I had him DNA tested. It will be a surprise as to what Jimmy is. Two females will often fight to the death, and these birds can't be sexed without DNA..... they visually look the same.
