  • Love It!!

  • If there was hostility between Lao and Tai Dam this song would never have existed. The original song was in Lao because Tai Dam took refuge in Laos. Took refuge but not corralled into a refugee camp but live among Lao.

  • 122 B.C. - The small Kingdom of Ai-lao is formed by Tai inhabitants

in Yunnan and Tai migrants from territories earlier settled by Tai's but then conquered by Chinese armies. Already at this stage, a tendency is to move southwards to evade Chinese pressure. However, the Tai's at that early time did not flee from Chinese rule as a complete group or as an

expelled nation. Parts of the Tai populations remained in Chinese-ruled

    areas.

  • Our historical has been deleted just because The French wanted us to lost connection between our Tai-Brotherhood and created hostility between the Tai people.

  • Yep. Its a strategy called divide and conquer. It makes me proud knowing that kun lao is only one part of our great Tai family. We were equal to Chinese back then, and were friends and enemies of them throughout history, but we migrated when Mongols took over China to southeast asia and we took it over :D

  • @caprisunn06 Tai/Dai came from the word Ai which means Brother...The Ancient Yue people use the Last name clan name of the word Lao/Liao.The Lao/Liao call male family members Ai...Due to the Lao/Liao culture the males would go live with the wifes family, they was called AiLao meaning Brother of Ours...

  • @taimuongtean

Are you also Tai? I am Tai-Shan too!!!

  • @taimuongtean If that was the case why would the French called Lao, Laotienne "Lao-Shan".

What does the name Shan mean to Shan people?

  • My question is whatever had happened to our Tai-Lao history records from the 700 to Lanxang Kingdom? Since the great Tai expansion, which our Tai-Prince Khun Lo (Chineses name Kolofeng) was the ruler during the 700's to Lanxang Kingdom (Faguom ruler). Why part of the segment of our history records 700s to Faguom-Lanxang Kingdom has been deleted? Nearly for 700 years, here is why

  • Yea!! This song is about Tai people and Tai people is our ancestor, the language is much like Lao. Lao language is 90% derived from Tai. Since Sip Song phana is became part of China,Chinese language blended in to Tai language.

  • anyone please tell me what this song all about?

  • this a Shan from Burma.

  • Whoa looks like Burmese

  • Wow, this is the very first time I actually heard the song in your language. It is not much different from, lao, thai but the written language is a lot more like Khmer. I used to have a very good friend Tai dum. We fled and depart in mid 75'. I wonder where is my friend xan now. Love your tai music.

  • i don't understand the language but i love

    the music and taidum lumpan

  • geocities(.)com/alif_ichi/shantaihaopatmoeng-IPA.htm

Here's the transliteration of the lyrics :)

  • Anyone knows what script is the lyric written? It looks like Burmese.

  • No, this is a Shan script. It shares some consonants with Burmeses and Mon. And in my opinion, it's easier to read(sound it out rather) than Burmese. I've been studying the alphabet. Try searching "Shan alphabet" or "Shan font" on google, and you should find something.

  • I can understand the song. It make me missed Laos when listen to it.

  • Sehr gute Song für uns Tai Zipsongpana,Taishan,Taidum,Taikhao,Tai luong,Tainoi Alle tai Völker.Wir sind Ein Volks

  • thaohumlair >>> most lao present this land most part of vietnam, some khmer , and some champa my dear !

  • Wow! I never knew there's Shan version of this song. There's also a very famous Lao version of this song. I think it's about Tai Dam (Black Tai) left their home land present day Dien Bien Phu, North West Vietnam which the French took from Laos gave away to Vietnam.

  • thank Uu 2

  • TaiShan we are the same race. Our ancesters lived together happily back in NongSae (Tali Fu) before 13th century. After the barbarian Ken Gis Khan and his descendants distroyed our army, we Tai ppl fled from NongSae almost 8oo years ago.

  • Laowest, thank you very much for the information. In Taishan tube, some words are un-know to me.

    Thank you.
