people actually care for Nine Inch Nails and it was a travesty that Flyleaf covered that song and did a terrible version of it. Trent as okay when Johnny Cash covered Hurt but says when he listened to it it wasn't his song anymore. If he can say that about a legend like Johnny Cash how do you think he feels when some bubblegum Christian Rock band covers his music. Especially when they take a slow haunting song like this and butcher it.

Not sure. Some popular songs or artists get used very often. It's rarer for NIN songs to have similiar videos to them, but it does happen.

Maybe it's a mindset. People who like certain music might like some of the same films/tv shows/whatevers.
