  • Unfortunately many of you Diana Ross fans, and I am one as well, are biased about anything anyone says about her. Diana Ross, has had plastic surgery, skin lightening, and she currently uses Botox. One has only to look at how her facial features have changed over the years. She looks nothing like her siblins...she looks incredibly better. I for one, thinks she looks better as she ages. Look at her eyes, they are smaller...She use to have eyes like her eldest daughter...not anymore. Why?

  • @02Strausd Uhhhh. Is it because she's getting older? She is near 70. Eyes tend to look larger when one is super skinny. Even a head tends to look larger when one is super skinny. Features tend to look dramatically different when one is a size 0 as opposed to when one is a size 8 or 10. We don't look the same at 20 as we did at 13. Why on earth would one think a 68 year old will have the same features as she did at 20. Facial features change dratically over time due to many factors.

  • she is hot stuff!

  • It is not that these entertainers lighten their skin. If they appear lighter, it is due to lighting technology. They can do so much more with cameras today, than in the day. Couple with make up and lighting, you will be surprise at what can be done. Look at Oprah....She is very dark skinned...However, they make her look rather brown skinned.

  • @strausd02 Be careful in making it sound as if they are intending to lighten skin. And your statement doesn't make sense. Brown skin is dark skin. In any setting where there is heavy lighting for the stage, the skin will be affected. It doesn't mean that the lighting is being used for the purpose of lightening the skin. Skin absorbs light. I work in theater. It is inevitable to bright stage lighting.

  • @RedSunday1984 .

I know little about lighting. All I know what I read, via Photography Magazine, and other Photo Magazines. For one thing, light have different effects of different skin types, colors, hues, For example: Light is absorbed on White skin, it is reflected on black skin.I was watching Oprah one day, and she was talking about lighting and its effect on skin color. Oprah, employs some of the best lighting technicians in the industry. Her skin is lightens by lighting.

  • @02Strausd You're missing my point. It is one thing to talk about how color or lack of color reflects or absorbs light. It's another to speak of how skin reflects or absorbs light. "Black skin" runs the gamut. However, Black in the literal sense ABSORBS light. White surfaces actually REFLECT light. Look it up. Nevertheless, I am pretty sure that the reason Oprah employs great lighting technicians has more to do with the look of her show than attempting to achieve a specific shade of skin.

  • @SpazChat and @blkshepherd, I most definitely agree with what you both said regarding skin tone, but let's not forget about stage makeup and that strong stage lighting. Even with adding in those two things, if she has lighten her skin, more power to her!! She's the BOSS damn it, she can do whatever she pleases!

  • @terrencemarquis68 See the You Tube clip called Diana Ross: A thing of beauty is a joy forever! Her skin is not bleached!

  • Miss Ross, is the damn BOSS!!!!

  • When was this show? She sounds great! She looks great!

  • @ChefAnt94 I think it's from 1998.

  • This is one of her best gowns IMO.

  • who is that white woman singing diana ross' song? oh is that diana??? how did she become a white woman when she used to be a brown skinned black woman?

  • so What? Its her skin if she wants to become a white woman? Countless stars are much lighter to day than yesterday. Namely Patti Labelle was black as coal. now shes jus as light as diana. with a fixed nose. u folks fine the pettiest crap to whine about. I am sure when u decide u want to look different u do it without a thought. diana is a Legend. like or not. her name is in the Rock n roll hall of fame. two stars on the walk of fame.yeah lookin like a white woman. wheres your name?

  • @blkshepherd , I know. People are petty. Tons of white people go out and fry themselves in the sun to look like latinos or blacks, but God forbid if a black person lightens their skin....

  • @SpazChat I guess when you can find no other faults about how she looks for someone her age late 60s..they have to say how light she's become..but all the other folks who lighten themselves its OK> not diana. and your white about folks trying to burn them selves in the sun to get Darker or change their skin tone. but as you said god forbid if a black person lightens their skin. Its like one of the 7 deadly sins..how BIAS is this world?

  • @blkshepherd The only thing I find weird about it, is it seems to be a secret and something that's only accessible to very wealthy black people like herself. It must be hella expensive to lighten one's skin.

  • @SpazChat not expensive when you pull in big bucks like her and Patti..and even Tina is Much lighter than she was with Ike. Funny no one says anything about them I find that weird.

  • @SpazChat We all go through sun tans and hormonal times and lifestyle changes eating habits which really do affect the way you look, weight skin tone etc… Clearly Diana Ross Did not Bleach her pecan tan Carmel brown complexion because she is still that today it’s just brighter at certain times of the year… that’s natural even on white people... I have to change my make up shade in the fall to spring and the summer – winter too

  • trust me it is a MACKIE gown..which she has also worn with the matching jacket

  • As per the gown: YES that IS a Bob Mackie original. It's one in a series of similar gowns he designed specifically for her. The other 2 are red (made in the 80's but worn in the Double Platinum movie) and the other is yellow. RESEARCH PEOPLE! :-) Have a great day.

  • JAJAJAJAJAJAJA yes!!! tell em baby u know your ross dont you?

  • It's an OK dress. It's not Mackie, that's for sure. He would never do that "Wonder Woman" bodice. She wore a lot of generic gowns like this one in the 90s. I think many of them were from Scaasi. "Take me Higher" was a very long tour. I don't think she ever called it "Voice of Love" in the US. That seemed to be a Europe-only thing. During this time her voice was unpredictable. Sometimes as clear as in 1975, other times strained and raspy. Not it's predictably strained and raspy. "Chain" is fast!

  • Quality of the video is pretty bad. Quality of the entertainer is superb!

  • I would say, it's from 1997 - Voice of Love Tour

  • This IS from the 90's!!!! Diana hasn't had the Boom Brothers as background singers since the mid 90's & her Take Me Higher Tour. She currently tours with Fred White who wrote "I Love You (And That's Really All That Matters)" and 1 female!!!

  • She seems bored, almost on auto-pilot.

  • sorta like your commentary

  • Wow, how erudite of you.

Diana Ross is a legendary entertainer, but even the Diva must get tired of singing "Touch Me in the Morning" a gazillion times...and I maintain that it shows here.

    But she looks incredible.

  • Man she looks always so great dressed in something elegant and simple like that beautiful black gown--nobody can dress it up on stage as classily as Miss R. ;)

  • yes, most likely 1998; this predates the platform shoe days of the new millennium.

  • This is from the New Jersey Performing Arts Center Fund Raiser In NJ. This was June 2009.

  • I think it's 1998.

  • got any of diana doing her supremes songs?
