Aquaman's 10k ton capacity strength is rediculous. The over the top bullshit DC pulls is far worse than Marvels. Yeah sure, they had Hulk lift a mountain, which is physically impossible by any means, and he would've just bore himself into the ground... But at least he didn't just sneeze away an entire star system.
This why guys like Moonknight and Batman are my favorites. They're not realistic either, no matter how you try to explain it, but they're not ludacris like the others.

Superman is one of the few DC examples that seems plausible for crazy power, but its good when they keep even his power in check. They should take a hint from your favorites. Good story telling and art beats constantly growing power any day.

@scaibs But the rules of the contest were that if they were immobalized for more then a second or two they lost, even if he could lift the whale (and I believe it was a bigger whale then an Orca)... it would have pinned him long enough just dealing with the awkard size of it. Also it was just a fun little comic, don't worry about it too much.
Even if that was an established rule, it makes no sense what so ever that something that isn't even 50 tons could keep Namor down.
This is a guy who can bench press 100 tons out of water. I can careless who wins, but a win like that? That's kinda lame. Besides, it's a bit one-sided sense that fight being a fan vote win. Not worried about anything, the comic is just a bit disappointing.

@Spyder7223 It was the 90's Marvel vs DC. All the fights were voted by fans so basicaly it was a popularity contest hence we some pretty hard to swallow written victories. I'd argue Curry beating Namor while not so glaring was one of them.

I've seen Namor againt the Thing, Hulk, & other bad asses way bigger than him. If the Things weight is a few hundred lbs, & Hulk is far bigger & heavier & stronger than the thing. Namor took some hellish blows, & kept coming back. Aquaman to me only showed his strenth that was noticeable through JLA in the 90's. Namor from day one was a badd ass. Namor over Aquaman. there was only one time aquaman and namor fought, and aquaman won. they did meet again in the jla/avengers crossover. they didn't fight, but aquaman managed to give namor a splitting headache even when aquaman was trying to "psychically knock out" water based enemies. basically, he gave namor a headache and wasn't even aiming for him (he accidentally knocked out namor's wife, too).

ok ummm... Aquaman and Namor are actually at similar strength levels and they both have the same weakness. If they stay away from water too long, they lose their strength. They can both command sea creatures, although Aquaman can do it innately, but Namor has to use an instrument. Aquaman can form water balls, BUT Namor can fly so I would have to say that Namor would win this one since he has the advantage of flight.
Namor is vastly stronger(and I prefer him) but it's quite possible Aquaman scores some kind of win via telepathy vs Namor( half sea creature as he is) Namor 7/10.(I'm sad to say it though)

@espector92 Sub Diego (an underwater city similar to atlantis) was, for some reason, screwed up and most of its inhabitants lost the ability to breath water. aquaman, in a desperate attempt to save them, lifted the whole damn city up from underwater, saving them all.

Even if that was an established rule, it makes no sense what so ever that something that isn't even 50 tons could keep Namor down.
This is a guy who can bench press 100 tons out of water. I can careless who wins, but a win like that? That's kinda lame. Besides, it's a bit one-sided sense that fight being a fan vote win. Not worried about anything, the comic is just a bit disappointing.
But then again, if you agree with this you got no problem with Venom beating Superman easily.

@Spyder7223 It was the 90's Marvel vs DC. All the fights were voted by fans so basicaly it was a popularity contest hence we some pretty hard to swallow written victories. I'd argue Curry beating Namor while not so glaring was one of them.

I've seen Namor againt the Thing, Hulk, & other bad asses way bigger than him. If the Things weight is a few hundred lbs, & Hulk is far bigger & heavier & stronger than the thing. Namor took some hellish blows, & kept coming back. Aquaman to me only showed his strenth that was noticeable through JLA in the 90's. Namor from day one was a badd ass. Namor over Aquaman. Hell even Wonder Woman got the best of him till he got her in the water. But I still like Aquaman with the JLA.

there was only one time aquaman and namor fought, and aquaman won. they did meet again in the jla/avengers crossover. they didn't fight, but aquaman managed to give namor a splitting headache even when aquaman was trying to "psychically knock out" water based enemies. basically, he gave namor a headache and wasn't even aiming for him (he accidentally knocked out namor's wife, too).

JLA/Avengers crossover. Superman did indeed win the fisticuffs fight, but Thor flattened Supes using Mjolnir in the first encounter.
However, no matter which character one supports, the book was WAY better than the fan voted DC Vs. Marvel crap that came out a while beforehand.

NOT ONCE has namor been any where near superman's level of power, Aquaman's level of power, or wonder woman's levels of power. let alone speed and tactics. he is one of my favorite marvel characters, but he looses hands down to anyone trained by batman in tactics. and yes, batman trains everyone in the justice league, to make sure they don't mess up missions. so does wonder woman.
Aquaman has the power, speed, cool mindset, and tactics to kill namor before feeling any blows from him.

ok ummm... Aquaman and Namor are actually at similar strength levels and they both have the same weakness. If they stay away from water too long, they lose their strength. They can both command sea creatures, although Aquaman can do it innately, but Namor has to use an instrument. Aquaman can form water balls, BUT Namor can fly so I would have to say that Namor would win this one since he has the advantage of flight.

you can dehydrate underwater. there is water inside your body and water outside. if i remove all the water inside your body, even if you're underwater, you will still dehydrate. not to mention the fact that aquaman was strong enough to lift a whole damn city, and is also faster. the only advantage namor has is flying, and aquaman has delt with flying enemies before. not to mention the fact that aquaman can screw around with people's minds (he did that several times in comics). he can leave namor

braindead floating in the ocean. sure, he can reverse that process, but still, he's able to do it. in the jla/avengers crossover, he used his telepathic powers to knock out other fish men. he wasn't even targeting namor and namor got a huge headache. instant dehydration will kill namor. screwing around with namor's mind will leave him braindead. aquaman has the entire ocean to back him up. and he can nullify magic (which essentially makes a lot of namor's abilities useless).

I read comics, didn't know much about aquaman but the few things I'v red depict him like a strong guy "but not so much ", he barely lifted a bus, is obviously not the stronger character in the justice league (in one of JLA's episode, one of the soldier said about him he is a tough guy but peanuts compared to superman)

@espector92 Sub Diego (an underwater city similar to atlantis) was, for some reason, screwed up and most of its inhabitants lost the ability to breath water. aquaman, in a desperate attempt to save them, lifted the whole damn city up from underwater, saving them all.
