Yes, the US has FAR more oil resources than Saudi Arabia when you include shale oil, tar sands, and coal to oil. Now with gas prices over $100 a barrel it is economically viable to use these resources, unlike just a couple years ago. Oil companies don't have a problem with finding new sources of fuel, its finding cheap ways to extract them that takes time and money.
only between 1% and 9% of the money big oil gets out of are pockets going into finding new oil and even less of that going into new types of fuel like biofuels. over 50% of the money they make goes righ into there pockets. can anyone but me see anything wrong with that.
