this was based on a Comic book out of England about a totalitarian government (The Judges) run post nuclear America. The movie really failed at capturing any of the crazy that is portrayed in the comics, not to mention the uniforms, the technology, the society, and on. THis had some real potential, but FAILED! DISAPPOINTED!!! Not to mention that Joe Dredd is 6'4" tall in the comic, and actually threatening.

I love the comics, but i loved the movie more. I dont understand the hate the comic book fans had. This was over the top and i loved it. I do wish for another dredd movie that will be grittier. And no, i dont want a British director to handle the movie. Its a British comic, but its emulating americana across the board; Big guns, tough-guy-cowboy-attitude.
