  • Ingredients:

Red roasted pork meat, Head cheese (consists of pork ears,skin,etc..), Asian Ham, marinated daikon and carrots, cilantro, cucumber, green onions(optional), some add Jalapenos or red pepper paste (optional), , pate (liver based), manyonaise, fish or soy sauce.

The ingredients used to marinate carrots and daikons are vinegar (rice or regular), sugar... That's it. There you go. I'm not even Vietnamese/Chinese and I know this. :) This guy is a joke!!

  • This guy has no clue what he's talking about. All of it is just a guess. Is he for real???? I'll give you exactly what goes on the Vietnamese sandwiches. The bread is probably the only thing he got right. The way he sliced it is way off too. Sad really sad.

  • You should cut the baguette from the side, and use less meat. It's so suffocating just looking at the finish product, really :|

  • this doesnt look like a viet sandwich..

  • I've never seen banh mi made this way. All the viet shops I've been to have some pate or other spread on the bread and I've never seen tomatoes on banh mi before either.

Also, aren't you supposed to use vinegar, not soy sauce, in the daikon and carrot mix and let it pickle for a few hours or days?

Maybe he's trying a western variation on this but really, there's NOTHING wrong with the original style.

  • What happened to the mayonnaise, pate, and hot peppers. These ingredients is a must to a good Vietnamese sandwich.

  • looks nasty, i wouldn't put in tamato or ham. mayonaise is actually pretty good in these. the dude cut the bread wrong too. suppose to be through the side, not the top. too much meat too, it would just make it taste bad.
