this video was filmed like 3 years ago but dose anybody have the lyrics i am dying to have them its because we have to do a welsh song in school for this eisteddfod and this is the one and i dont know the lyrics so i dont want to look stupid when we sing it :(..... PLEASE
@FreeSpiritMetalworks OOPS what happened there!! I must have been looking at another video and got my comments crossed. I should open one window at a time on the screen from now on. If I remember right I was trying to comment to someone on a rugby vid!
instead of mumbling sing the real words at the start. "aeth hansel i gwlad awstria i sgior mynydd mawr, ond daeth rhyw arth heibio ai daro i'r llawr" also how have you got the chorus wrong? its meant to be " ooooooooooooooo ooooooooo holi a cici a holi a cicoo cicoo"
Also, it's not a welsh folk song. It's just a song sung about an Austrian halucinating about random things after getting hit by an avalanche, but in welsh!
Nice post, but for a REAL (not fake austrian yodel) welsh chiuldrens song, try finding 'Dai Ci Back Aeth ir Coed' two little dogs went to the woods. Thats a genuine welsh childrens folk song. Nice to hear peolple across the sea enjoying Welsh music though.. its not ALL about mining, hill walking, playing rugby whilst singing in close harmony (accompanied by a male voice choir of course at hald time)and eating leeks and pot noodle is it 'cottonwhiskers'??!!
you know i am from the US and have never heard this language. but after hearing this song i found some more welsh music and love it. its very interesting to me.
We used to sing this song at camp and campfires of the American West we called it "A Swiss Man Went Yodeling". My family is of Welsh heritage. Never knew the tune was from Wales. If something can be sung, its a good chance its Welsh. Nice post - Thank you
this song is going to be in my head all day. i remember the 1st verse about hansel going through the forest and hearing a cuckoo... and then i just go oli a ci ci over and over and over and over and over.
You gave me such a happy start to my day and I have sent your video to my sisters in Australia and cousins in Canada. I's so pleased you girls speak the language of my father's. I failed to preserve it. Thanx.
This was one of my favourite songs during Welsh assembly even though no-one knew what they were singing (I went to an English speaking school even though I'm and we had an assembly in Welsh regularly).
@captainsharkey agreed our toung is dieing out so fast~now can hardly go any where is wales that the town talks only welsh~my feoncy wants to learn it and she's chinese so~as long as ppl want 2 learn ther's always hope :)

They say nothing blends together like sisters singing. If you sing a note with your heads together it can get almost a single metallic type sound.
