  • Well, the usual North American attitude towards knowledge, Pragmatism (the philosophy of men of business). He exposes it when he reposseses the books.

  • Hey! Did he mention "Silent Cal" (Coolidge), the epitome of the supposed Puritan"virtues" of savings. The governor of Massachusetts that broke the Police strike of 1919, if I remember well.

  • For me, this is one of the best versions of the story (Americanized, of course) along with Alastair Sim and Alec Guiness version of 1970.

  • This is my favorite holiday movie! Henry Winkler is the BEST SCROOGE and I have been looking for this movie for years. Thank you so much for posting it! Merry Christmas!

  • In this movie, Fonz looks like an old man who had plastic surgery to look even older. Hahahaha.

  • I have this movie and love it!! I love Henry Winkler and I love Dorian Harewood!!

  • I can't believe Amazon wants $25 for this video and that's cheap compared to other sites!

  • I loved this movie as a child.

  • I like this movie I just would like them to put it on TV .. I think more people would . watch this movie./..

  • Wow that intro is highly political. They're basically saying Coolidge and anyone who believes in working for something are a bunch of corporatist Scrooges. The novel itself had political undertones, but this is pretty blatant. They're not saying Scrooge is a bad guy because he doesn't do good with his money. They're saying the fact that he has it is the problem. Whether I agree or not, it surprises me that they threw that in. Jimmy Carter was president. Go figure.

  • @surfer53 I don't see it, I don't see where in the beginning it said just being rich was bad. Do you have a part number and a time marker so your point can be better illustrated? TX

  • This is one of my favorite versions of the Christmas Carol.

  • This was the movie that convinced me Winkler wasn't much of an actor.

He just lucked out as the Fonz.

  • Americans are such sad people.

  • @MyMerlin1 true but so is much of the world if one really cares to put any thought in to it

  • A VERY poignant time in America to be watching THIS Christmas Carol. Henry Winkler is moving in this version turning out a surprisingly good performance. Thanks for this post and Merry Christmas!

  • another year has passed and i'm watching it again this year!!

  • Thanks for posting.

  • Of all the remakes of A CHRISTMAS CAROL, this is one of my favorites. I still count the George C Scott version as the # 1, but this one is at least # 3. And if you wondr what is # 2 for me...it's Alistar Sim from 1951.

  • for me #4 this movie, #3 George C Scott, #2 Patrick Stewart and #1 Alistar Sim

  • Winkler's make up is bad but his performance is damn good. This is an underrated little flick.

  • I heard about this from Jim Hill Media, the guy who talks a lot about Walt Disney Co.

  • This is a good version of A Christmas Carol that most people don't remember. None of my family or friends remembered this show. My favorite is the 1951 British version, thanks for posting!

  • i love this movie , it shows the true meaning of christmas. thanks for posting it merry christmas ! [ ;

  • the 1938 version is my favorite but this is my 2nd favorite!! Merry Christmas everyone!

  • I actually like this version a lot. Thanks for taking the time to post this. Merry Christmas.

  • He looked WAY more believable as an elderly man in "Click". Am I right?

  • Well Certainly. But he was 34 when he did this which meant more make up. He was 51 when he did Click. At least he is finally leaving the stigma of Fonzarelli behind him.

  • Thanks for posting this! I loved this movie & remember seeing it back in the day. I actually had made an audio copy of it way back, so it's so nice to see the video now. Thanks.
