  • On the communications part most depts use a command frequency and a tactical frequency that is two frequencies going at the same time. Great job by everyone nice to have a calm BC delegating assignments makes the incident run smoother

  • I would love to have access to more of these videos, saw this one in a recent class on decision making. thanks again.

  • L522 Job Well Done!!!

  • As a veteran of over 10 years as a battalion chief, i see this incident as a classic example of the first 5 minutes determining the outcome. GREAT JOB!!. With regards to the question about the IC and the air time: Really? You have demonstrated your lack of experience and command presence. From City of Miami

  • Good work all. Great command presence.

  • Great job! Well done!

  • Nicely done fellas. I've got a terminology question for you, what's the meaning of "all in" "all out"? We don't use that here in King County, WA.

  • @ffsimmy "All in" means that the entire company is going inside the structure. You heard T106 go all in for rescue. A lot of times truck companies will split into a two and two, which is two members in and two members out. "All out" means that all members will be outside the structure. So, the three options they have are all out, all in or split

  • @ffsimmy I am guessing the entire crew. It is not a used phrase here in my area either.

  • Kudos to Local 522!! Excellent command and control, text book. Great learning tool... Great to here the kid survived. Goose bumps!

  • wow you all kicked ass!!!!!

  • Yes, the little boy miraculously survived! Jeremy and his family were my next door neighbors at the time of the fire...definitely a hard video to watch. Sac Metro...my heroes!!!

  • So nice to see folks moving with a purpose. That's the way I would hope we do it everytime.

  • excellent coordination, and a rapid rescue!!!! very nice job...

  • So the child recovered?

  • Great job brothers. Strong work

  • Being from New England I don't understand what's up with all the radio traffic. I like the whole calm, collected voice on the radio, but dude, how on earth are interior companies supposed to voice their traffic if you're owning all the radio air time? I.e. "Truck 1 to Command, we're coming out with a victim." Heaven forbid a MAYDAY. Granted, I've heard IC's screaming on the radio, and making full use of the CHAOS acronym, but SOPs assured assignments, in spite of CHAOS.

  • @FerntheFDexplorer I love seeing armchair quarterbacks with "explorer" in their name. Different parts of the country do things different ways.

  • @shinnfire Not trying to armchair quarterback, I'm trying to genuinely understand why the IC absolutely NEEDS all that air time when other responding companies could've used that valuable air time.

  • Nice rescue boys...

  • Awesome job guys! Great command presence and effective rescue! Praying for that family

  • And to think some people consider west coast fireman weak... STRONG WORK SACTO!!!

  • I could be completely wrong, or it could be the point, the the guy acting as command I think is dubbed over the video. I notices that when he was giving orders, nobody would acknowledge the orders, and when the Captain asked him what he had at the end, it was a diferent voice coming from the command vehicle?

  • @NTRT11...He didn't overdub it...It's the same voice. Why would he dub it over? When the engine asked for the cross street, they replied back..."Engine 101 water supply and fire attack group" Reply..."Engine 101 copy, fire attack group" and on and on and on... Not dubbed...Nice theory though. :)

  • Fantastic job. Professional all the way.

  • Excellent command presence...Calm, calculated and obviously in control. Nice job.

  • @firemedic726 I agree, he did a great job. True professional

  • The boy made a full recovery.

  • It was like watching maldersbfd........ nice job job guys.

  • definatly how its done! good work guys and gals. IC had it spot on. professional. and very well done. would be proud to work for and with these people anyday.

  • Now THAT'S how it's done, brother and sisters! Awesome save!

Stay united- there are still LOTS of people out there who stand behind us and actually appreciate what we do.

  • Amazing video! Great com's & hopefully a successful rescue. Love the professionalism.

  • OUTSTANDING BROTHERS!

Loved seeing that hustle of those brothers.

  • Love the professionalism of incident command. I'd work with them anyday. Git'r done.

  • So, let me see if I understand you right..You deverted fire fighters from a fire that had nobody trapped to the fire where you kbew there was someone trapped? And I'm assumng you did that to get more firefighters to the scene of the fire that had the entrapment quicker?

  • @arohn2007 i believe the other call wasnt a worker , if it was most likely they wouldve split the response i believe

  • @dru2ko ah ok, thanks for the explaination. I didn't know if he just did that because he found out the apartment fire had a explosion hazard and that there was a victim trapped so felt that fire was higher priority (obviously). Of course all fires are high priorities for fire departments but the known trapped victim I would think make it the highest. But now that you explained it, that also makes sense that they'd go to where they know there's a working fire.

  • Did the female vic survive?

  • @stormtracker1 God I hope so..She looks to be just a kid.
