  • AND THIS IS HOW THEY SPEND OUR TAXES HERE IN PORTUGAL.............

  • THE FAA allows this?

  • illegal airshow, same as illegal drag races :D

  • there are old pilots and there are bold pilots.....no surprise to see TAP Portugal playing like this....idiots

  • FAAAAA! That wingtip must be within 20ft (7m) of the ground, I hope the co-pilot was spotting for him and not just his pants! Why is the landing gear down, 'just in case'?

  • Now that's a skilled airliner pilot! Good job dude!

  • Yeah totally safe. God what's everyone complaining about. I wish every plane I flew on did this. Hang on this is actually real, oh wait.....

  • Wow.

  • Kakav kreten!!!

  • that pilot would be having the time of his life actually hand flying a plane

  • that reminds me of 2012 the planes heading down like that except it smashes its wing and falls down into the ground

  • wow thats scary o.o

  • airbus looks like a piece of junk to me

  • @Greenhornet270

naaaaa , it's ur mother who's a piece of junk u mother fucker

  • @Greenhornet270

yeah...it looks like a piece of junk....3 wings instead of 2 and only 1 engine..... Boeing is obviously better....

  • damn shit looks very low

  • yay for bud holland wannabes.

  • WOW!!! It's huge!!! Gosh, I love airplanes!

  • @elouel19 Awesome post XoD

  • he's like friggin 10ft away from the ground with his left wing?!

  • Legendary Shit babe!

  • To all you people who think this pilot is a complete idiot for performing this manuever, take a minute to analyze the situation. What you don't know is how much experience this pilot has flying. For him to pull off a stunt like that without smashing his aircraft into the ground shows me that this pilot has spent years in this particular aircraft and knows it's limits well enough that he can push it to its limits whilst keeping the plane and the people on the ground safe from any harm.

  • it was almost a wing strike take a closer look to the left wing, almost in the ground.

  • I understand that it was almost a wingstrike, but it wasn't (emphasis on wasn't), and that's exactly the point I'm trying to make.

  • Are u saying its ok to shoot a person and not kill him/her..? He/she din't die..

A sober person will not take that risk to show he/she is experienced. Have u heard of the word called ACCIDENT.

  • not trying to argue or nothing, but the whole point of airshows is to make things look like there was almost and accident.

  • when did u become convinced that airshows are created for such a purpose?

  • Comment removed

  • After I joinrd the military and went to attended several air shows.

  • Know what happened to Bud Holland?

  • Yeah, I know, the B-52 crash at Fairchild. There are a few things that are different here. First of all, this is obviously a different aircraft. The B-52 is much larger in comparison to the A310. This means that it cannot manuever as quickly as the A310. In the Fairchild video, Bud Holland was performing a 90 degree banking turn. He would not have had enough time to roll the wings level before he crashed.

  • Looking at the A310 video, youll notice that at first the pilot stops his turn at around 30-35 degrees relative to the horizon. He STOPS banking. This not only prevents the left wing being driven into the ground, but it also gives him an opportunity to roll the wings level should he need to. This was a carefully planned maneuver that took weeks of practice and preparation to pull off.

  • @AviationNation787 HAHA, look up a guy name Bud Holland.. You have no idea of what your're talking about.

  • @gt5004life

As a matter of fact I do know what I am talking about, and I have already discussed the differences between this situation and the one at Fairchild. Please read that thouroughly and provide counterarguments if you'd like to.

  • @AviationNation787 Can't seem to find it?

  • @AviationNation787 thats what all the pilots who have ever crashed their planes in air shows thought too.

  • @AviationNation787

u r right man .. i have spent more than three months training for manoeuvres in a simulator, and here i got the result, complete success low fly by with a limit bank angle.

  • What sort of Flight ops department gives approval for this...? Seriously, great skills but unnecessary risk.

  • All cool untill this jackass puts the wing tip into the ground along with the rest of the jet. Just hope he doesnt kill to many people when it happens.

  • Flying that way is a good way to get people killed. The pilot lacks any kind of professional judgment.

  • some of the coments are ridiculous, yeah this is dangerous thats why this is an air !show" (to ahow something!) and not a regular basis flying plane, i dont know about u, but im glad that the pilots are able to control thoes beasts to the extremes if one day crap is to happen and they actually have to do that kind of move.

  • DAMN

  • see other videos and tell if it's fake

  • i wish they do this everyday on top of my house.

  • ебать за такое нада

  • Moe-ron.

  • man I want to be at that show!

  • didi the kid say buddy buddy buddy

  • No the kid said *Mãe Mãe Mãe* wich means Mommy. But he said it in Portuguese.

  • that was definitely cool, but the boeing doing the barrel-roll @ sefair back in the 1950's / 1960's was far better. the pilot has a lot of skill to make such a large plane do stuff like that.

  • I was there in 2007, and Ill be there this year its only every other year! I was closer to the place where the plane turned, and believe me that was awesome work !!!

  • What an idiot.

  • thats right....you are an idiot.

  • I'm sure that in your culture that is impressive, exciting, and acceptable.

In mine, it's risky, irresponsible, and just plain stupid.

  • Air show = manuvers that have all been planned.

  • And in your culture, twan, I suppose you go to church and pray to the supreme being of health and safety? What do you do for fun, do you go for a walk or are you too afraid of being run over by a moped?

  • Is that the best you can do?

  • @twal1011 lol, yeah in your culture probably you use DPMS LR-308 to shoot flies kakakakaka

  • @bogasman21

    Some times!

  • @twal1011 yeah, I bet that in your culture you are all a bunch of sweet angels, but guess what, this was in Portugal and, by far, by one of the safest airlines in the world, from someone with outstanding skill and hundreds of flight time, com César Brito, he done it after hours of specific practicing for this maneuver and he can't never be fired or banned from aviation because he just did what have been previously planned. Just get over it :P

  • OMG that is amazing!

  • I love seeing passenger planes do stunts and such.

  • awesome piloting. maybe a bit too risky..

  • DUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • .

professional pilot with more years in a plane that you have in your life...

    .

  • Comment removed

  • By the numbers.

  • its an optical illusion carefully planned. The ground dips away on the side the pilot puts the wing down, still there is high levels of skill involved.

  • wtf!! is dit normaal??

  • fuck up and stop being so critical, can americans for once on youtube just say something positive?

    great video dude!

  • Pota que pariu.

  • carambaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • parabens belo video

  • great pilot, but fucking damn crazy:)

  • It´s a very very risky manouver, however that´s a GREAT PILOT!!!

  • that pilot should be in psicological terapy or maybe jail!!

  • Its an airshow. It wasn't any airshow that does not have permission to do so.

  • Why? You're an idiot. He knows what he's doing. It's an air show.

  • yeah right... and if things go wrong and end up in disaster .. what do we have to say??? He knew what he was doing?? Your are poor imbecil

  • "You are poor imbecil" You need to go back to school and learn to speak.

  • haha, a pita bue cagada...

    fdx, so os tugas!!!

  • What a spectacular video....Thanx for posting.

We don't have anything like that here in Canada.

I also found a very clear view of this lowpass and more

from the other side of the Evora field.

Just type in the YouTube search box "pedro rapada".

  • parece uma montagem..

    igualzin...

    o aviao ficou mtu perto..

  • Must havae been Tom Cruise at the controls!

  • LONG LIFE TO LUSITANIAN PEOPLE!!!

  • Eeeesh. NOT clever. Not clever at all.

  • Irrisponsible manouver!!!!!!!

  • Mad Mad Mad...Can't believe He did that...

  • TAP (air portugal) have one of the most prestigious pilots in the world... we knows what is doing ;)

  • They were very lucky that there wasn't "ground effect" loss. If that wing dropped 15 - 20 feet, well we all know the out come. When you are flying over the runway there is a certain amount of lift due to air pressure and heat from the runway thermal activity. The pilot banked to port and in doing so flew over grass which doesn't have the same effect as runway,he could have easily dropped like a rock.

  • I was There!!!

  • Please search for "TURKISH STARS".Its a millitary air-show troup of the Turkish Air Force with 6 of the F-5.Watch and enjoy it!!!!!

  • That looks amazing.

  • Love that...

  • He was lucky he didn't end up in an accelerated stall and /or get hit with a downdraft frowm the storm! There are old pilots and there are bold pilot but there are no old, bold pilots!!

  • people... this was an air show... it's called that way for a reason. these pilots are skilled and have a life time of experience flying these things. plus, they planned it all very carefully and practiced again and again. obviously, there is nobody inside but the pilots themselves. yes, it's dangerous... but that's the point of the whole show! (and that wing was not as close to the ground as it seemed)

  • it was an incredibly stupid manouver to do

  • how ? its called an airshow get over it , and thats what an airshow is for to do manouvers like that and show off your skills

  • And thats where the best chance of seeing a crash is.....and lets be honest...everyone's got a morbid fascination with seeing plane crashes.....awesome!

  • same here but that is what an airshow is for

  • Yes Tinha que ser piloto mesmo Portugues. nao ha melhor piloto melhor doque um Bom Portugues. viva PoRTUGAL

  • THAT WAS C-R-A-Z-Y!

The pilots are lucky to still be alive!

  • tinha k ser em PORTUGAL!!!

    Ganda piloto.

  • I think that was dangerous AND well thought out! That is why they are called STUNTS!It is dangerous but they practice.

  • why averybody think that was dangerous ? i guess only to show they are aviation experts. speaking about experts, those pilots are ! they planed those stunts many weeks before, they knew what they did and i think there were no passengers on board (not for airshows). And all was checked normal before this airshow. You are stupid, not the pilots and your awnsers are no matters : you'll be wrong

  • that wasnt the safest thing but the pilots must know how long the wing is it looks to me like they dipped the wing lower than they thought and corrected great pilots in that bird

  • Hey JohnDcort, i dont know why you had to turn this about portugal vs england. That is childish, and typical of you arrogant brits, you just cant stand if we do something better than you, which is by the way in everything. Grow up,and have some respect.

  • It's all about football, isn't it..

And on the other hand, no.. That pilot is obviously skilled, otherwise he would not operate the Airbus in this airshow. However, if you knew anything about sudden crosswinds and close to ground turbulence you would know how dangerous this "show off" was... I guess even Portuguese pilots are exposed to the elements of nature... And no, I'm not British...

  • I just dont Get most of the guys here. The pilot Is GOOD! Deal with it. All you american idiots, and the british "know it alls",are so pathethic.

Losers. And about the portuguese balls? You probably already had some didnt you JohnDcort?

  • Portugal > England

  • I bet the computer was flying the plane.

  • a computer CANT do that

  • You must not know much about airbus then.

  • You must not know much about airbus then.

  • I would never trust the computer in this situation. Here U need human skills...

  • gren240=retard

  • jut a bit low

  • And why are the gears out if he doesn't intend to land?

  • To be able to fly at a lower speed I think.

  • that was an airshow, a low speed flyby is spectacular as you can see ^^

  • That left wingtip is far too close to the ground there! That pilot might consider his flying a bit...

  • That airplane is either expendable or the pilot is bored of flying airways, sorry guys Airbus is a great aircraft but Boeing is better.

  • Dear friend, the plane wasnt expendable. It was this A-310 final flight, this entire fleet of TAP was already replaced. I must say that i also like boeing, but airbus is better in some aspects,in my opinion ofcourse.

  • I believe that this situation has nothing to do with skill, experience, or even possessing big cahones. Granted, I'm sure this pilot has all three of these things but is still in no way immune to getting into a compromising situation with an aircraft of that category. Read the NTSB reports. Pilots of all skill and experience levels get involved in accidents of their own doing.

  • Hes good,that was almost a knifes edge,IN A JET LINER!!!

  • Portuguese ball are big enough to fill up your mouth in order for you to shut up.

Get a life and appreciate what a good pilot can do on a good flying machine.

If that was a American pilot, most likely there would be friendly fire dead civilians.

Maybe if you get your own balls, and somehow learn how to use them, you will start to find out what it means to be on a 800 year old country that discovered half the world.

Como sempre, os pilotos portuguese provam serem os melhores entre os melhores.

  • ...the natives were already here ....and I don't think the ability to do something stupid and reckless yet not die determines the size of a man's balls..lol

  • you seem to have a lot of experience fitting Portuguese balls into your mouth.

  • This guy got really lucky. He was what looks like only inches away from biting the dust. With a Thuderstorm near by, one slight gust of wind and he would have made an even bigger show.. Rememeber that Kiev Airshow... Not smart, Not a great pilot. Dumb, but lucky.

  • agree, dumb.

  • OMG WATCH OUT! DRUNK PIILOT ON THE RUN!

  • Don't try this at home

  • hi, im the pilot of that plain

  • Do you realise that you can't even spell "plane" ? You expect us to believe you are allowed to fly the thing you can't spell? Are you Portuguese by the way? If you are then I may be tempted to apologise and believe your statement.

  • fdx..fcking crazy

  • Which are the countries that have created these enormous Airbuses? many thanks.

  • NOT Portugal. They aren't even asked for cleaners to wipe it down after assembley. Some Portuguese believe that they contribute software for its onboard computers but I think they really mean soft toilet paper to put in the cabins for ar5e wiping.

  • that hasn't answered my question, does anybody know it? thanks.

  • WOW, excellent!

  • you think the U.S fighter pilots are the best dont you anpmech?

so why is it that your Apache helicopters have done their job better... in the hands of the English?

Cos your useless and shoot nothing but the allies.

    Twat.

and anyway. yes the airbus might not have primarily designed to do this sort of flying but the designers have made sure it will be able to cope with this and still do its daily job without crashing. you know nothing about the aeronautical industry obviously

  • jajajjajaj quina caña!!

  • Hello, i´d like to know if there´s an official site for that airshow, and when and where is it done! I´d like to go next time! Thank you!

  • What a complete Moron.

  • I was replying to the fucking arsewit who said Brazil was a wonderful colony. further down the page, besides people from the USA are hardly known for their wit are they?

  • hhaha portugal isnt brazil you shithead.

i fucking pitty you ppl...you dont know SHIT about any fucking thing besides your fat retarded country...

  • I know that. I was replying to the fucking arsewit who said Brazil was a wonderful colony. But why is it that you and the portugese are so cruel to children?

  • viriathusland,,,,,,,,,,,if you hate english so much, why make the effort to learn our wonderfull

    language you portuguese puff!

  • cuz unfortunalty we have to.... no matter we like it or not

  • Because our country is important and yours is backward. You are our b1tch.

  • keep talking... asshole

    keep watching and learn...

  • no answer me this if you hate our people and country so much why do many of you come here every year to vacations why so many thousnads of you live here for dacades get htte fuck off out ths country

  • I like to think myself as someone with a good education and good manners, I do think portuguese is the most beatifull language in the world, nevertheless I can speak also French and some German. You see, contrarily to all the british scum/hooligans that usually polute europe wherever they go, we try to show some respect for ourselves and then for the others. You should try too someday, is not that difficult. BTW, if you don't like our airshows, just don't come, nobody will miss you anyway...

  • Idiot..those planes were not designed for that kind of flying. It's dangerous and it puts tons of load on an airframe that was designed for high altitude cruising. We don't do that type of stuff in the states at our airshows, but, whatever. When that plane goes down it will take out alot of people. We have F-22's and F-15's to excite us. I guess all you have is an old Airbus and a crazy 3rd world pilot who wanted to be a fighter pilot...Idiots..

  • Actually you moron, this was the goodbye for this old A310, which is being replaced by brand new A330s to join the fleet of A320s,A321s and A340s. Also most of TAP pilots were jet-fighters coming from the air force academy and some of them even fought in the colonial war in Africa,...so you see, you're just another wanker, nobrain, no culture Homer Simpson...eh,eh

  • That's even better, the plane is an antique being flown bt fighter pilots. Seems really safe to me. I guess it's fine if you say so.

  • fuck an a! happy trails!

  • k pena que os portugueses so dem que falar por cenas baixas.que pena.un portugues desiludido.

  • yeah, if he flew like that here, he'd be sacked straight away, bloody suicidal!

  • so what...

  • lol. I bet the people on the ground were like....WTF

  • I have never, seen anything that dangerous in my life. That pilot had to have gotten his ass chewed after he landed. That left wingtip was about 5 feet from turning that ship into a fireball

  • Hey now that takes some skill. Great footage.

  • That was.... AWESOMEEE!!!!!!....

  • wow!!!!! extreme low pass

  • Oh my good, was that allowed????

  • awesome that is!

  • WOW!

  • holy shit!!!!!

thats iz cool, the pilot have great skills!!!!
