Yes it is. Everything is all run off of sensors. It's a really straight forward swap. Pretty easy. I've put about 5,000 miles on mine since I did the swap and it still works perfect.
f3's yellow/black wire connects to f4i's white/blue wire AND NOT it's green/white wire in order to have the "FI" light work as a FUNCTIONAL kick stand indicator!!
well done. i've seen this on the forums and my f4i gauge is on its way for my f3. and you're right 98-99 Cbr900rr temperature sensor threads into the f3 and gives the right reading to the f4i gauge!
You might want to try to Google the F4 sending unit thing. I never tried it or even looked into it. I just go until I feel it running out of gas, then turn it to reserve and hit the next gas station.
This is a pretty straight forward swap. I forgot exactly where I found the directions but try google, it's pretty popular and should bring it up. Just remember the green wires on this bike are ground wires (not your typical black wire).

How would you match the odometer reading from your old analog. Or does it just restart you at 0?
xFreeGeox 2 years ago
Whatever the F4 guages say is what you'll have showing for mileage. I don't think there's a way to reset it. If anyone knows, would you let me know?

@xFreeGeox
Not sure how to change it or if you even can. If I find out, I'll post it up.

f4i gauge for my f3 is on its way. temp. sender from '98-99 cbr900rr fits into f3 and gives correct reading for the f4i gauge.

Thanks. Mine has been working great for about a year now. Fab'd up a good mount and a lot of people complimented on it.

Does the fuel gauge work? Looks really nice.
B18BEG6ick 3 years ago
Nope, there's no fuel sending unit in the tank.
cstaron8 3 years ago
Is there a way to hook up the or us the F4i fuel sending unit or do you just use the trip meter for the your calculation when to refill?

You might want to try to Google the F4 sending unit thing. I never tried it or even looked into it. I just go until I feel it running out of gas, then turn it to reserve and hit the next gas station.
