  • vom simulierten Absturz zum realistischen Absturz ... schade für das Modell.

    schöner Schrotthaufen. Great video !!!

  • oh man..... sooo much time put into making something like that. he was on his way to recovery too.

  • He almost recover it, but the wings torn off

  • Lol

  • sinbadvett i think it's soy beans not corn

  • B-29s were not meant for aerobatics. :(

  • Is this in Fond du Lac Wisconsin?Looks like the field down the street form where I live.

  • now.. that was just that what we expectet when we see a bomber that is tailspinning and "caugt on fire"... bad that no pilots ejectet and come down with little parachutes.

  • Spectators immediately started to loop the parts... :))

  • Fucking messerchitts!

  • As much of a bummer the loss was, as far as RC crashes go, that was the most realistic I've ever seen.

  • the smurfs shot it down becuas ther mad at the new movie of them

  • Houston... we have a problem !

  • oh heck.

  • Nothing broke that money can't fix.

  • Nice one guys......

  • I hope no corn got damaged. I love corn on the cob, mm mm good.

  • Nelson from the Simpsons, "Ha Ha"!!

  • oh no!!!!!!!:-(

  • shut up!

  • wtf

    rc crash ha ha ha

  • oh.....oh heck.

  • what about the x-1

  • graet sound ,bep ,bep,bep,bep ahhhhh bep,bep

  • Which is why I love model trains so much....case in point....

  • banzai banzai

  • Oh the humanity!!!!!

  • It got hit by flak

  • the smoke was burning the wing, and the wing took so much presure in the air,. and you knew what next,. :(

  • terrible spin!

  • Gods sake, you'd think someone was in it! Its a model, it crashed, build another one, don't spin it!

  • pfft it doesnt need no zero's or bf 109's to do that ..any smartass would think OH ive got a scale model of a b29 , its not gonna be realisitc now is it? :D -wing rips off after spining - FUCK D:<

  • If man can make it....man can repair it....all it takes is skill, time and money.

  • Why is darth vader commentating XD

  • Looks like a some extra room in the truck for the ride home.

  • That look like it got shot down by a zero or a bf-109

  • I remember when he came to Aviation Expo in Ankeny, IA in 1997 because mice had destroyed the wiring harnesses in the 1/5 scale (about 2x the size of this one) B-29 owned by that show.

I also remember him throwing an absolute hissy fit because the show director wouldn't allow him to fly like this after the Friday and Saturday shows because they didn't want this exact thing to happen before he finished the Sunday show.

  • -unfortunately, the gremlin flying this scale B-29 died in the cockpit; --but the good-news i guess is that there's always more gremlins -RIP!

  • Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • the b 29 was shot down! you just can see it on the smoke haha

  • ANYONE GOT ANY SELOTAPE?

  • I dont know what to say folks....i do...it crashed!

  • Sorry but who the fuck cares its a model, the way u said it in the description I thought it was a real crash

  • Serves the old fags right

  • @crawloutboy wth is your issue? I hope you end up old and crippled so when I have children, their children can point and laugh at your stupid ass.

  • @maddog4u31757 i can fly shit better than they can

  • @crawloutboy

It's OK - we understand you're simple minded. You don't have to have those monitor muscles. It's OK.

  • @Train2590 DURRR its part of the act you tool, listen to him.... The commentator mentions the spin before it occurs and the so called "Fire" goes out before the plane crashes.....

  • @Train2590 That was smoke, part of the stunt, not a fire the wing came off due to the speed and subsequent load on the wing when pulling up.

  • @SchlangersiX, WELL THE SMOKE WAS COMIN FROM THE ENGINE, MEANIN BY IT WAS GAS OPERATED N IT WASNT A STUNT!!! SOO STFU U DICKFACE!!!!

  • @humvee600 Damn how retarded are you!!! Search youtube for a video called "Mac Hodges B-29 Aerobatic Demo. Sep 19, 2009" and then you will see the stunt going smoothly.

Happy now cunt features..... Peace :)

  • @humvee600 they make smoke modules for nitro engines too... and why would the fact that it uses a gas engine make you think that it isnt a stunt? Dickface? Seriously? Are you 6 years old?

    Lastly, your caps are on.

  • shut the fuckup and play the viedo!

  • why did the wing fall off?

  • @midwestrailtrain2589

The builder of the plane was my father, Dan Stevens and pilot of the x-1. He had died approximately a week prior to this event. Both of the men who continue to fly this bird simply did not bolt the wing on. "fire" etc. was part of the show but the downward spiral caused the wing to separate.

  • @midwestrailtrain2589

The builder of the plane and pilot of the X-1 was my father Dan Stevens. He has died about a week prior to the crash. Mac and Buddy continued to fly the plane at the next exhibition. The "fire" is smoke and part of the show. In their grief I am supposing they did not fasten the wing to the fuselage, causing the wing to detach in the spiral downward.

  • why did thw wing fall off?

  • the narrator needs to shut up

  • no matter how you cut it, a bunch of stupid fucking red necks.

  • you gotta fell bad for that guy, his 20 something by 20 something model b-29 crashed

  • That could of happened at any given moment in the models life... At any moment it could of plowed into the show crowd killing lots...

  • Hats off to the bulder of this aircraft,in acheiving to rebuild it anyway. It really is mindblowin how these guys manage to salvage anything from this mess.....must be more careful next time lol !!!

  • THEH GOES!... OH HOLON!...Ohh... oh heck

  • Maybe there was a zero lurking somewhere that got a lucky shot!

  • @4thstooge dem silly Japs :/

  • The wing snapped off. THE FUCKING WING SNAPPED CLEAN OFF, OH GOD!!!

  • wow it is fuckin big

  • When you put big heavy planes into dives the wings don't like it one bit

  • You might have, out of common courtesy for those who don't know who the fuck Mac What's-his-ass is, put "RC" in the fucking title of your vid. Thanks for wasting the time it took me to type this. Don't get me wrong, I like the replica of the B-29 but I'm after the real thing.

  • that's probably the most scale model aircraft crash you'll ever seen lol

  • Comment removed

  • to much stress from the flat spin?

  • @r32adt3db ya and that made the right wing fold

  • @r32adt3db I think the smoking engine was prob heating up/weakening the wing materal around it. That combined with the stress of pulling out of the dive did it in.

  • Yeah, they weren't supposed to pull G's either.

  • I can understand it with people who doesn’t have a lot of money and so they have only one model and after a while they fly not scale like but with maneuvers strange to this type of model. But with a man with experience this thing is unforgivable. He should expected this to be happen sooner or later.

If you built scale models you must fly scale. Otherwise built a second aerobatic model and fly with it whatever you like.

  • Oh man! That's got to be a heartbreaker! I hope you get it flying again. Best of Luck!

  • did the crew survive?

  • OUCH!!! I know he cried over that... That plane must've cost at least $15,000 dollars... Was a real work of art, I look forward to seeing the next one he builds & flies...

  • Top video! Very good!! Glad you fixed it anyway.

  • dam that sucks

  • ilike heavy slow takeoffs, this takeoff fits an 18 yf hornet

  • the announcer is such a hick

  • mayb a small emerg. chute inside next time

  • It happens. Mac has been in the hobby long enough to know that. I overheard him say to someone at the Joe Nall in 2007 that it was built in 6 months.

  • noooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That's gotta suck

  • That seems heartbreaking. You put all that time, testing, money, effort, and construction to make such a great R/C, then you can't get it out of a spin.

  • @airman193 He did get it out of the intentional spin. Then the wing broke...

  • Strangely reminiscent of real bombers that I have seen on WW2 documentaries and come down just like that.

  • its a rc - -;

  • meh the way he flys that beautiful bird he deserved it

im sorry thats just my opinion

  • Anyone who knows if an 88mm would have reached the service ceiling of a B-29?

  • ohhh...oh heck...

  • Looks like RC models have their aerodynamic limits too

  • well at least the crash was as cool as the plane its self

  • he wrecks these things all over the country. possably the most dangerous pilot in rc. just a matter of time till he kills someone A.M.A. should deff pull his card.

  • Not funny at all.

  • G-Force ripped off the wing!

  • hahahahahahahaha

  • he stressed the wing by puting it in a flat spinn multipull flights of doing that will cause the wing to do that.

  • I love it when those remote controlled planes come down like that. Priceless to hear the "oooh no!" near the end.

I build static models myself, the challenge is the building.

  • 1/2 oz and 3/4 oz cloth is too light for that wing.

  • oh....oh heck

  • When you routinely stress an airframe beyond its capability, failure occurs.

  • Brilliant, insightful commentary!!

  • O Heck beat the guy with the mic the stand him on the runway and shoot the at X1 him

  • he is still right flight spins you cant get out of hahah

  • that shut the cocky guy on the microphone up!!

  • Now i don't believe u wanted to do that??!!

  • so realist !

  • Nothin a little epoxy can't fix. That crash did look pretty scale though. Bomber +flatspin= catastrophy!

  • I've seen this model fly a few times. Video and pictures really dont do it justice. It was huge! So does anybody know if Mac is building another one or not?

  • The third version is flying, powered by DA-170's.

I saw it at Monster Planes in Lake Wales, FL.

  • its already built

  • "Hey bubba, whatcha think'll happen if we try to make this model do something it was never designed to do?"

"I dunno Earl. Here, hold my beer, lets find out."

  • yeap plain stupidity, and no crying i wish he cried like the jet guy

  • One of the most scale rc crashes of all time..

  • unfortunately your insurance police ran out at 1 second before your crash

  • THat would suck...

  • Now that's what you call tempting fate.

  • Sorry for the loss. It is tough for a model of that size to handle the G forces put on the wing.

  • Houston,we have a problem!

    Houston, do we have insurance?

  • i got a vid of it im poasting now

  • "Ladies and gentlemen, I may have missed the final pilot briefing, but I don't believe that last manuever was part of the scheduled performance."

  • that definatly wasn't in the script. nice to see he rebuilt it.

  • The B-29 has been rebuilt! It is due to be maidened today 8/29 I hope to have video of it, so stay tuned!

  • @footballbat74 . great! I look forward to seeing it in action again.

  • @jwatson06 It has been rebuild and he crashed it again. Also during a flatspin. One engine failed and he couldn't recover. But the damage was minor and the plane did its first post crash testflight one and a half weeks later.

  • The wing has been made wider than the B-29's narrow glider-shaped wing for lift right? BUT is the rebuilt version going to have the tail true to the shape of the B-29? Just do a Google search for B-29. Click "Images" at top left and you'll find side views of the plane. Print it out to scale and cut the wood. :)

  • @footballbat74 and then he crashed it agian! lol then he had to fiix it agian!

  • it was probably the best rc plane in the world. good job it didn't have a little"little boy"on board, otherwise everyone there would've been very burnt toast!

  • Just couldn't handle the pull out.

  • Damn... and no parachutes either. That sucks...

  • That hurt me...

  • I had the pleasure of seeing this plane fly in person. It was an awesome sight that you could only truly appreciate if seen in person. It is too bad this happened. One of a kind airplane and display! Sorry that happened to you Mac.

  • very sad day.. i very much liked the videos of this plane. it will be missed....

  • Da lacht die Acht-Acht.

  • damn i saw their first flight and the best part was when the pilots ejected so i have to give them credit

  • tht was terible i feelrealy bad for that man he must of been gutted i have looked at lodes of vidios about this plane and it look great and ihoped nothing like this would ever happen i would hapelly pay him to help him re build it

  • Sad!!=(

  • Gotta watch the Flak the Flak will get you every time...

  • Yes yes flak got him i say in 20 and 40 mmm did you also see it. i also saw some small arms fire.

  • Ce n'était pas la peine de pousser le réalisme aussi loin :-)

  • OH OH OH HECK!

  • he has a lot of friends

  • PLEASE tell me he was able to fix it!!!!

  • Well he was right they cant pull out of a flat spin.

  • B 29 Down

  • no chutes....not even 1?

  • I feel really bad for them because of the huge investment of time and money, and that thing was really cool. I think they pushed their luck with the "engine on fire" trick - he was saying at the beginning what they made it out of - balsa....

  • do u think they woul burn it, no its called an oil smoke system, oil fed into the hot manifold on the engine to cause it to smoke, the wing joiner wasnt fastend properly so the flat spin pulled the wing from the joints on the center section

  • *and now folkes a gooood inside look of the B-29's fuselage* How sad

  • serves you niggers right! WW 2 planes dont do 3D!

  • lol did u see that takeoff, taildrag hit krunch

  • insted of telling me the plane crashed, i see that, what happend here, in fligth fire? and the wing came off and.... yes

  • sorry that the plane went down down dawn i hope you get a new b29 bomber

    and fly

  • И домой))))

  • at least he got enjoyment out of the plane before it crashed, he shouldnt be sad for experienceing part of his hobby. now, if this was the first flight, and it did that right after takeoff, then maybe...

  • It might not be tragic but losing several several thousands of dollars is nothing easy to swallow. Plus this plane has traveled to many fly-ins and was a favorite among all who attended them. I heard that he was already discussing plans for another one shortly after the crash.

  • Is it always about money? He could have insured it under a homeowners insurance plan.

  • No I think that plane meant a lot more to people than just the money. I was just responding to someone else's post that claimed calling this event tragic was stupid because it's just a model. I was just agreeing that while it might not be as tragic as watching your family pet get run over.. unless you are on world poker tour a plane crash that costly isn't something you're just gonna say 'oh well' to.
