  • This one scene has four of the most quotable lines in the whole series. "These four 5's beat a full house", "Money ain't got no owners, only spenders", "You got me confused with a man who repeats himself" and "Wear it in health". This might be one of the greatest scenes in any show, ever.

  • yo marlo aint no sucker though ill tell you that. thats a cold little nigga there.

  • what does marlo say in before omar responds "no doubt"?

  • @norcoboy "wear it in health"

  • "Boy you want a head on that body, you best hop to!"

  • if only Omar pulled that trigger. Bodie, Prop Joe, Big Face Andre, Lil Kevin and a bunch of others would be alive. Damn lol. Marlo was the devil himself.

  • No doubt.

  • Cissy strut!

  • i dont know about cards ..but uh ..i think these 45's beat a full house

  • Click 1 and U'll atomaticly hear "Aite evry body let me see dem hands yo"

  • Marlo was truly a coward. He gave up ANDRE'S ring as soon as Omar put his gun to his neck. Marlo was all mouth and a bully who couldn't pick on anyone his own size. Devonne, Andre, and the Security guard were all victims of this punk. Avon would've retaliated smartly like an intelligent and courageous soldier.

  • @kandinskyforfootball He's just not an idiot.

  • It would be great if marlo got taken out by omar. The ending of the omar character was soooooooooooooooooo anti-climatic

  • @infinityprodinc *anti-climactic

  • He did say "that's how you carrying it shorty?"

  • Every time I see Omar I can't help thinking,... "Fucking Kennard"!

  • @ChequeWriter yea i never like kennard i was like yessss!! when micheal beat his ass but what made him shoot omar instead of micheal? ...he did that to make a name fo himself but it was a smart move who would thought one of the shorties would shoot him they feard him most...

  • @MrTrill1970 He said head not hit retard.

  • @bryanhamade aww man assholebryan the computer tough guy is here save that weak shit for somebody you can fool into thinking you anywhere near tough or hard or any of that shit.

  • @MrTrill1970 "Boy if you want a head on that body you best hop to"!!

  • @jstrick31907 Lol my bad!!!!

  • I love how by this point it's become routine to be robbed by Omar.

I love how the cash keep is like "ahh not this shit again" after Omar threatens to kill him.

  • as soon as marlo wins everything he loses everything. kinda like wat happens later on in the storyline

  • Omar shoulda just blasted Marlo's fucking head on the table.

  • Omar was the cop in Trapped in the Closet. Check it out!

  • @gopflash he also plays a cop in gone baby gone

  • "Boy you got me confused with a man who repeats himself." LMAO!!

  • "Jackie Brown"

  • Ruger P97 DC. = Omars guns.

  • love this scene

  • "Boy you have me confused with a man who repeats himself" BEASSSSTTTTTT

  • "cause uh..i can find your peoples awhole lot easier then they can find me" then marlo says something real quick and simple 3 words (after he eyes omar sizeing him up/down it sounds like "braver then hell" or "brave for health" id just like to know marlos last snippy/almost comical response..

  • @Itzsfo0 wear it in health i htink he says

  • @Itzsfo0 "Wear it in health." Sarcastically, since he intends to kill Omar next time he sees him.

  • @Itzsfo0 actually I thought Omar said "so that's how you carryin it shorty?" making fun of Marlo for being young, rather than "well thats how you carry the show then." The way he said it too was awesome, like kind of surprised that this bitch would have anything to say in the situation. This scene, is so satisfying.

  • @Itzsfo0 marlo says "wear it in health", obviously in a sarcastic manner but omar winking and saying "no doubt" is just both of them acknowledging that that's how the game goes sometimes.

  • im from maryland, (bmore county, right outside the city) i know/love the wire, have the boxset and i know most lines, etc - but the one thing ive never understood (specifically) is the one line (sometimes you gotta rewind a certain section to understand the soft spoke characters (marlo, chris partlow) and sometimes its hard to undersand certain lines they have..can anyone tell me what does marlo say (the last line) after marlo says "this aint over" omar "well thats how you carry the show then..

  • omar should've finished marlo right there and then

  • Name of the song: "Cissy Strut" by The Meters

  • BOY YOU GOT ME CONFUSED WIT A MAN WHO REPEATS HIMSELF

  • they got all this on CCTV. did they ever catch the guys?

  • "Boy you got me confused with a man who repeats himself" damn!!!! how do you write such things?

  • Bagakoos youre a total legend :) nice one!

  • @benjicello haha thanks the wire has such a great selection of music throughout the entire series and when i first saw this scene and heard the meters in the background i shat myself

  • The Meters - Cissy Strut

  • Can someone please tell me what the name of the music is thats playing in the background??! Thanks

  • @benjicello The Meters - Cissy Strut

  • I love Omar, but he signed his death warrant in this scene...

  • Marlo cops that ring off Andre, Omar takes it off Marlo's hand, officer Walker takes it from Omar when he arrests him, Michael takes it from walker before they throw yellow paint at him then Marlo sees Mike wearing the ring around his neck and is happy to see that

  • You know what Marlo reminded me of in this scene? Big paws on a puppy... to a tee...

  • Omar!!!!!!

  • Check My Channel UK Version Of The Wire.

  • Chalky White rofl.

  • ANY ONE CUD B TOUCHED.

  • Wear it in health.

  • Marlo must've felt like a bitch after meeting Omar. I bet he replayed this scene over and over again in his head. Marlo was all about power and respect. In this scene, Omar was clearly the king.

  • And Omar wins, man....Omar wins....

  • What's the name of the sound in the background???

  • Comment removed

  • @kevincor1988 Cissy Strut by The Meters

  • Idk but cards but these 4-5s beat a full house

  • I fucking hated Marlo.

  • @JayFromLowell Ach! Me too! >:( Everything was fine before Him!

  • @JayFromLowell Marlo was the personification of the new breed. Men with no code at all.

  • @Darwyn7 Very well said. Which is what made him the scariest character of the show.

  • @JayFromLowell who didn't hate that fucker? I even gained some grudging respect for Stringer Bell over time, but Marlo? He was just a fucking sociopath.

  • I dont know about cards, but I think these 45's beat a full house...gotta love omar (no homo)

  • "Boy, You got me confused with a man who repeats himself...." awesome line

  • ''Boy you got me confused whit a man who repeats himself'' Cold blooded..

  • regarding the ring, the first person to have it was the fat shop keeper. Marlo took it from him. Then omar took it from marlo , then the police officer took it from omar . and finally micheal took it from the police officer

  • One of my fav scenes, Marlo was my fav character..When he punks the security in episode 4 of season 4..Priceless.."You want it one way, but its the other way"..

  • @pgmo4412 and then he had the security guard killed which was cold..he didnt have to go after a civilian like that..I lost respect for marlo for doing that...

  • Marlo obviously didn't know who he was dealing w/ at the time.

  • Omar had all the best lines in the wire, for me anyway..totally cool guy!!

  • umm you got me confused with a man who repeats himself?

  • wear it in hell. " no doubt"

  • @wuwear1995 He actually says "wear it in health"!

  • @wuwear1995 health*

  • "Ey Yo! Banker, cash me out Yo!" - Priceless

  • Dmx robs 50 cent. lol.

  • "money ain't got no owners, only spenders."

  • The latino should've droped marlo in the end.

  • Marlo was a lot of things. A monster, a psychopath and a thug. But he sure as hell wasn't a coward, as many Wire viewers seem to think. If someone had told him that Omar was calling on him in season 5, he would've stepped up for sure (and probably gotten killed as a result, which is why his men kept quiet about it).

  • Omar should've killed Marlo right then and there so he wouldn't have to worry about him later on. Also, who took the ring from Omar? Was it that punk ass cop Michael poured paint on?

  • @Dogfacesoulja8582 yes it was Officer Walker. He took it when Omar was arrested for the murder of the delivery lady that Chris killed.

  • Anyone else notice the journey that ring embarks on? Omar takes is from Marlo, then The corrupt street cop takes it from Omar when he is arrested for murder, the Michael takes its from the cop during the "yellow paint" robbery, the Marlo notices is on Michael and he asks how he got it and says "i took it from a nigga." So great.

  • @lawara And Marlo originally took the ring from Old Face Andre.

  • "I don't know about cards... but uuuhh.. i think these four-fives beat a full house."

    lmfao

  • Great fuckin scene

  • Great fuckin scene

  • the guy at 0: 22 looks like o-dogs father

  • @K1NgL0 Hell yeah! I never noticed that dude, but I'm pretty sure that was the look on his face when he found out that he IS O-Dog's dad. Guy at :22 seconds........YOU ARE THE FATHER!

  • @jmagic1986 maury povich dance

  • I just wish Omar woulda blew Marlo's head right there and then, I WISH.

  • One of the top moments in the entire series of The Wire.

  • I find it very unlikely that Omar didn't know who Marlo was. Marlo was one of the biggest players in town at that point, and Omar knew the city like the back of his hand, so how could he not of known Marlo?

  • @jaredowty, I too found it unlikely that Omar would not know who Marlo was. I thought this was a small flaw in an otherwise extremely well written show. For me, The Wire's strongest asset is its believabilty. That Omar would not know who Marlo was left a little bit to be desired.

  • @cmjohnson61

I thought Omar knew who he was by telling him my people can find your people a whole lot faster.

  • @easyday2, you raise an interesting point. I took that statement, though, to mean that Omar knew what Marlo did for a living but he did not know Marlo specifically.

Remember in season 4 when Omar and Reynaldo were plotting to steal the Co-Op's stash and were spying on Cheese and Marlo's crew? Reynaldo asked Omar if he had known who Marlo was would he still have robbed the card game. Omar said that he wished he would have known; he would have taken more pleasure in robbing him

  • @jaredowty Hmm . . . I thought he just didn't care. But then again, there a lot of "I meant to do that" moments throughout The Wire. Maybe this was one of 'em?

  • boy you got me confused with a man the peats himself

  • thats not omar that robs the card game, thats bug and dookie

  • @nakedpilgrum wat? thats omar there...

  • If I ever got robbed at gunpoint, I'd hope it be Omar....of course if i hear whistling im getting the hell out of there...

  • wth did omar be spendin that money on? he homeless and only be buyin newports and honeynut cheerios.

  • @suicidalxsamurai I'm sure he goes through a few guns as well...

  • Omar has two guns to Marlo's face. And Marlo's's going to threaten Omar?

    Marlo is fucking insane.

  • Omar was different class, the character and the actor.

I'm sure Andre would sleep easy knowing that "scar faced faggot" has his finger in his ring ...

  • Lol + "I don't know about cards but ahh i think these 45s beat a full house"

  • "Boy you want a head on the body you best hop to"

  • Different between him as Marlo and him being Young Eastie.

  • 3 Legendary quotes, all in a minute and thirty seconds...

  • @loconnor2104 actually only 45 seconds.. still my favorite scene in the wire

  • The writers of the wire really outdid themselves on season 4, I mean the dialogue in this scene is like... PERFECTION.

  • @DonRMB

i completly agree there buddy. the writing just went to a new level.

  • This is the greatest scene in anything ever. This would rival Shakespeare had Shakespeare not been a bitch and died before any true scribes arrived on the scene.

  • Is that Uncle Phil in the striped polo shirt? lol

  • @kandinskyforfootball, yeah....

  • I don't know how Omar made it in life as far as he did. Motha fucker had everyone lookin for him.

  • Marlow got straight bitch by the king himself don't hate the player its all inn the game

  • "That's my money"???

  • "this ain't over"

"well, that's how you carry the show than"

Every character on the show has a role guided by their ambition. Weather you're Marlo who wants to be "Godfather" of the streets, Bubbles who wants his next fix, McNulty who's after the next peice of the puzzle...all except Omar. I like to think he's the "checks and balance" of the game.

  • @concerto404 well said and so true.. Whether not weather... im just sayin' lol

  • @concerto404 Omar said "oh that's how you carryin it shorty?"

  • Doesn't he say "that's how you carrying it shorty?"

  • If you rearrange Marlo you get Omar L.

    Coincidence? Probably.

  • "Money ain't got no owners, only spenders".

He had the most epic lines.

    Epitome of a jackboy.

  • "i dunno much about cards, but i think these 45's beats a full house" lol the word play is awesome, one of my fave scenes in the season

  • After this scene, neither of them had any idea what they were getting themselves into. Omar was unprepared for how organized and deceptive Marlo and Chris could be (not that they were the ones who stopped him, though). Marlo was unprepared for how crafty Omar could be, or how badly he could "mess with his world."

For the record, Marlo was a freaky character to me. His whole crew was. He was a total villain and that's all he was basically. All he was was The Game.

  • @lookingglassedge yea true but Omar coulda just easily blasted Marlo in the dome inside that bar. and that woulda avoided all that madness. but he still would have to watch his back with Chris and Snoop around. then u have to think about how he got killed by Kenard later on. and that had nothing to do with Marlo. so Omar should had blasted Marlo, done more stick ups, and got the fuck outta dodge to avoid anymore trouble.

  • @OnPointAndOnTheGrind formerly lookingglassedge; I think if Omar, then, just killed Marlo in cold blood that would have been a bit out of character. He usually kills only when he has to or when it is for revenge. You're right though, if he had it would have been a lot easier.

PS, was extremely pissed that Omar was killed by Kenard, a character I absolutely despised. If anyone should have done it it should have been Partlow.

  • @ChurchOfMe93 nah it gave a twist..... i think it was perfect cause the streets are like that in most cases. Besides omar new he would die as soon as went lookin for trouble

  • @ChurchOfMe93 right but as other people have pointed out, if partlow (who already had a huge rep) killed omar, then he would be known as the man who killed omar, and would in a way steal some of omar's rep. now I was pissed when omar was killed, I wanted him to beat the police to marlo just like he beat them to stringer. but, if omar was killed by a nobody it keeps him a legend, and it also shows that no matter how careful you are the game will get you.

  • @ravenouscolonelhart haha, agreed.

  • Omar 4 life even if he avfag idk y they made him a fag lol

  • "Dis ain't ova..."

Ooh thats how you carring it Shortie?

    Huh? Cause-uuh...

i can find yo people a whole lot easier then they

    can find me... -Omar Little

  • wear it in health

  • I think these four fives be the full house lmao

  • @StackinItToThaMoon

I said that phrase when I was at a casino and beat this dude all in for 400+ on the river i had 4 of a kind (5's) on the river and he had the full house.. dude wanted to kill me... haha

  • "Money ain't got no owners, only spenders." What a wicked line that is !

  • Anybody notice Cissy Strut by The Meters playing in the background?

  • @orgnice THANK YOU! I ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW THE NAME OF THAT SONG

  • @Notasheep187 What is it with Youtube and people calling Marlo a bitch and a coward etc......dude had a 45 right up in his neck and he didn't flinch, and kept talking shit. ANd for the record.......I would say Marlo won the war between the two and played it smarter as well. The worst scene in the history of this show was Omar becoming spider man jumping out the 7th story window to escape Chris Partlow blowing his head off. Marlo made it further than Avon and Stringer both and Omar got killed

  • @Safo8888 The funny thing about the scene with Omar jumping out of the window is that it is based on a true story. The guy who played Donnie (real name Donnie Andrews - he was the guy who went with Omar up to the apartment where they were ambushed) is one of the people that Omar's character was based on. Something very similar actually happened to him and David Simon incorporated it into the show.

  • @Safo8888 I wouldn't exactly say that Marlo played it smarter than Omar. Chris played it smart for him by not letting him know Omar was calling him out. I wouldn't exactly say he won either to be honest. Omar systematically destroyed Marlos name. In the end, Marlo means nothing on the street. If anyone won it was Avon. Everyone who stood against him is either dead or broken while he's king of the prison and still has more money than he can spend.

  • @flyingbigm A 45

  • Best line

"Money Ain't Go No Owners, Just Spenders"'

    Classic

  • @sabeeh89 It's not "just spenders.." it's "only spenders." How did this get marked up so high?

  • @sabeeh89 4sho

    Bless.

  • lucky he didn't shot their asses

  • "MONEY HAS NO OWNERS ONLY SPENDERS" OMAR WAS A COLD BLOODED GANGSTER,THE ONLY KANK IN HIS GAME WAS THAT HE WAS A FAG.OTHER THEN THAT,HE HAD THIS ROLE DOWN PACK SO COLD THAT YOU COULDNT TELL HE WAS ACTING. "NO DOUGHT"THE BULL WAS VICOUS.

  • man money ain't got no owners just only spenders that is that shit

  • Omar: "Money ain't got no owners, only spenders." Great quote

  • Cissy Strut by the Meters!!!

Theres always such good music in the Wire

  • Maaan yo money ain't got no owners,... .. . .. only spenda's.

    LMF@O

  • I dunno about cards but I think these 4 5s be the full house.

  • is that how you carrying it shawty?

  • "Boy, you got me confused with a man who repeats himself." Fucking outrageously cool!!

  • " Wear it in health..." lol! say what you will about Marlo....that character was as trill as it gets.

  • the best characters of the show 1omar 2 stringer bell 3avon barksdale 4bodie 5wee bay 6 slim charlse 7 prop joe 8chris 9fruit(the guy who should of been on the show longer)10marlo boy u want a hit on that body u best hop too

  • kekeke oh shit. Marlo is a G. oh boi even when this nigga Omar robbed em Marlo told em straight up that it aint over. i think marlo was thee best character in the show. right next to slim charles omar and avon.
