@jonanjello Thanks for the kind invite- campfires are where I always feel the most comfortable playing guitar. There's something special about sharing the warmth, ambience and the same blood-alcohol level with friends, isn't there?

You're right- I was trying to play it slow, but somehow it came out fast. The original Big Star version accelerates as it goes along, but sonehow I ended up playing it even faster than they did.
I really like this Ian - I too have never heard the song but will be checking it out shortly. Advice - Guitar stand. And be careful. Also, it is good to see that someone else is making use of the garage!
I heard that brief sliding sound and wheeled around just a moment too late. I really hate it when that happens. No harm done, but that booming bang is a sickening sound.
well this is a new one for me, but sounded so beautiful ..u have such a nice smooth soft tone to ur voice that makes it such a pleasure to listen to u! prob took more than 6 minutes to hear this due to internet acting up..but i have to say..it was so worth the wait to hear the entire song..very very nice!!yikessssss!!! when ur guitar went boomy!!!!!!!!!!!!!-dont cha just hate when something like that happens!?
But do yourself a favour at some point and listen to Elliott Smith singing it- I've put a link in the text description. His version is sadder, better.
Thankfully, my guitar survived the experience- it wasn't as hard a landing as it sounded.
Baaahaaahaaa, the ending was hilarious. Thanks for not cutting it

Very, very nice! I am struggling with bits and pieces of this. Would it be possible to send me the tabs please?
sjg123ard 1 year ago
@sjg123ard I don't have any tabs- I played it by ear. Which bits are you getting stuck on? Send me a PM and I'd be happy to help you if I can.

Good tune man. really enjoyed it.
always nice to hear you pick the guitbox.
I find it difficult to play some songs at the correct tempo, my inner clock is just at a faster pace than what it should be.
FALLING GUITAR, NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
That is going to leave a mark, ouch....... sorry about making your guitar fall over.....

Another good performance from Canada's finest!

nothing wrong with the way you are playing. the reason i find other people's versions of a song on here is because it's more interesting and new.

New song for me. Pretty darned good. Perhaps a nice area rug for your studio..
rjeroots 2 years ago
A nice rug could really tie the room together. It would probably still look like a big storage shed, though. My studio definitely needs work.
jordanthecat 2 years ago
Actually I was thinking the rug could save the cost of a new guitar..

slow the speed a little, because it's like, almost a country song style.
In all, the melody stays good.
Keep working

Thanks, Tom. But do check out Elliott Smith's, or Big Star's version to hear how it's supposed to sound.

Yes, note to self- get a guitar stand. I do find that the garage is a peaceful place to play a tune, but the floor can be almost too solid sometimes.

Thanks, Rob. The guitar is disgruntled but unscathed. I'm such an idiot sometimes.
