As a child in the mid fifties, I used to hang around the biobox at Colin Hatfield's old Roleystone drive-in as Nook Fuller checked to reels through for breaks, then lubed and threaded up the old projectors, Super Standards I think they were.
When a film had a bit of a tear in the sprocket holes, He would give me the damaged cutouts which I took home and in an old metal detonator box of treasures I kept. I've no idea now where they ended up.
I see those scenes, really wonderful movie! its a classic! congratulations!!! thanks!
I've always had mixed feelings about Nuovo Cinema Paradiso, as an Italian cinephile, I thought that the film was trying to please too hard a 'Holliwood" crowd...(call me cynical)...having said that.....this scene gets to me...my love for cinema cannot resist it... and I TOTALLY buy it. thanks for posting it.
@2010FineArt Ah FineArt, you must love this scene, it is so close to perfect and I don't think the film is Hollywood at all. Not at all schmalzy as the yanks like things, but wonderful and evocative of a time gone by. I love this movie so much. And how lucky you are to be Italian.

@scjc90 Thank you for your info. However, I took a liberty of seeing entire film of "The Outlaw" but unforfunately there was no related scenes. Jane Russell apprears in other clips and the face does not match.
@guch64 You're right, I'm sorry about the wrong information. Jane Russell is the woman appears at 0:26
I don't want to bother you, but there is an Italian film of 1942 called "Carmela", that movie has a scene where Doris Duranti shows her breast. In fact, that topless caused a controversy between Duranti and Clara Calamai ( 1:26 ). In order to make a face comparison, you should watch a youtube video called "Doris Duranti" and look out for the scene shown exactly at five minutes.
@scjc90 Thank you so much for your following up to solve my 3 year long unsolved "mystery". Yes, it maybe Doris !! I was not able to find Youtube's "Carmela", but watching Doris Duranti co-staring with Marcello Mastroianni (?) looks very much like the actress I was looking for all these years. I knew of Clara Calamari but during these years, she was blond and I knew it wasn't her. Now I will look for the film "Carmela", thank you, thank you and thank you !!
So che domani tornerà tutto come prima.
Nobody and I mean nobody can capture the power and heart on your sleeve emotion of this scene in any of the history of cinema. For my Grandpa who showed me his passion and love for those classic movies of yesterday. My biggest fan of my art photography. We love you Grandpa.

I think it's safe to say Nuovo Cinema Paradiso is one of the best movies ever made and probaby it has the best score too. I can't believe yet Tornatore wasn't given an Oscar for Best Movie, Best Directing and Best Editing, the Oscar for Foreign Films is something so useless which is just a little bone thrown at great artists like Tornatore indeed, Fellini, De Sica and many others to quiet the audience and make dumbass American movies win. Because Hollywood can't make movies like this one.
I can't agree more. The music alongside this particular scene just sent tears to my eyes, happy ones. One of the forgettable moments and best movies ever.....
@1UpStaff - I totally agree - as a performing pianist at several venues in the Washington DC area, I always get a positive response from this theme. I look forward to Tornatore's new film, "Leningrad" the music for which is being scored by the greatest of all time, Ennio Morricone.
Both Giuseppe Tornatore and Ennio Morricone built one of most beautiful moment in the recent history of the cinema... impossible don't cry when you watch this video if you saw the film....
Straordinariaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!

@1UpStaff

@Pyanistman The first time i read about Tornatore directing a "Leningrad" movie was back in 2003. That's 7 years ago.

SUGIERO A LOS QUE GUSTAN DE ESTA PELÍCULA ESCUCHAR EL TEMA CANTADO POR GIORGIA FUMANTI, MARAVILLOSO TAMBIÉN
