As a (moderately) conservative Christian, I have to say Conservapedia is a joke. Conservapedia even denies the existance of black holes in space. really! Perhaps the worst thing is Conservapedia is trying to re-write the Bible to warp it to their agenda. They call it the "Conservative Bible Project". Even removing certain parts they feel are "too liberal" to be in the Word of God. But hey..., Conservapedia IS always a good page to look at ...when I need a good laugh!!
One of the editors of Conservapedia, is infamously known as NephilimFree. This is a man that believes the craters of the moon were caused by a blast of water from within the earth, as a byproduct of the 'process' of Noah's flood. This is commonly referred to by people with sense as the, 'Bukkake Theory'. He also believes the Earth is the center of the universe. So, the notion that this nonsense exists on Conservapedia is no surprise, really.
@CBE80 First I thought it was funny as hell, but then I realized that there really is people this dumb in the world that are able to vote and I became scared.
I once called out someone who linked to Conservapedia's articles on homosexuality, atheism and evolution on his website and he only insulted me due to the fact that I used the word advocate and said that he only linked to them a few times on his website, not addressing why he linked to Conservapedia at all. What a wanker.
Visited this site because someone cited info from it in an anti-gay rant during a discussion. I read through the "Homosexuality" page, and was simply awe struck at the biased rhetoric used on it. I also found that much of the information cited from other works was written in a way to misconstrued the real message it provided. Not only that, a large chunk of citations were from religious articles and conservative researchers. You'll never find me quoting this site in any way as "proof".
I was looking information about AIDS and homosexuality. And wikipedia says very little about that. So its true, is biased. Wikipedia attempt to hide information about this controversial issue is pathetic.
Check out the article on Atheism and obesity on Conservapedia which provides a characteristically sophisticated proof of the link between the two, namely by showing pictures of a few slightly plump atheists. All it takes to convince uneducated people. Further you'll find counterexamples to an old earth, global warming then click on counterexamples to the bible. It will blow your mind.
@PR4ET0RI4N LOL, I checked it. They also have a picture of Chuck Norris to prove that Christians are much more fit and strong than atheists, priceless!
It's a bit disappointing to hear him making fun of 'action at a distance' and non-locality as if they're absolutely crazy when they're not. The universe either violates locality or counter-factual definiteness, according to Bell's inequalities. The Copenhagen interpretation chooses to violate CFD, but other descriptions have non-locality. Non-locality could be possible 'at the level of atoms' and yet not effect us at a macroscopic level.
Conservative would do well to dump that biblical literalism; and distorting reality to fit the delusion; there much better ways to have faith in God if that's your thing; but I say praise nature and if God exists then you also praise what God made; and checkmate; conservative need to quite the stupidity.
HahahahaHA! Dude what a few conservative morons have anything to do with the fact that you cant ever prove or disprove God EVER! I mean come on Einstien Beleived in God. Actually, to quote the wiki (aka, wikipedia) that isn't logic defiantly stupid, "He believed in the God of Spinoza, but not in a personal God, a belief which he criticized". It's on the wiki page "Albert Einstein's religious views".
Also, believed in *a* god would be the correct term, there isn't just one idea of a god. And that argument is silly, there is -evidence- for other countries other than America existing. People saying it exists/faith does not make it so, evidence does.
You seen the Scientific Foreknowledge conservapedia page? Or when Andy Schlafly emailed a biologist about a paper demonstrating evolution. Look up Lenski Affair on rational wiki!
@WaltonSauce I dont believe thats the worst Ive heard of coming from conservapedia. People there think the the earth is the center of the solar system.
Most christians don't believe in the bible. If they did, we'd still be in the dark ages. We're not so obviously the bible isn't being used and the religious should stop complaining about us pushing their fack fellowship in their face.
Jesus walked on water; thereby shattering the theory of gravity, yet another liberal propaganda literally designed to keep the good conservatives down! haha
@randmnumber Google Sokal affair. In order to expose the liberals, NYU Physics professor Alain Sokal managed to publish a SCHOLARLY paper in a fucking sociology PROFESSIONAL JOURNAL in which he claimed to prove that Quantum Gravity was a social construct! He did it to make fun of fucking liberals. You're not so smart either.
Btw, Sokal's paper contained a similar play on words where "axiom of choice" used in math was related to "pro choice" politics. You liberals ate it up with a spoon!
See book, William R. Fix, The Bone Peddlers -- tells all about the fictitious "ancestors" of man even refuted as false, by their own discoverers after they wised up.
Quantum nonlocality is very real but the morons at conservapedia have no idea what they are talking about. They can't even grasp simple concepts, like the earth was not created in 6 days, how are they going to argue against something like special relativity? Using quantum nonlocality no less.
@uniteordie1 Well, generally when one likes Michelle Bachmann, I can say without a doubt they're not the brightest person. Actually, they're fucking retarded. I can't be nice.
Just remember, atheists = fat according to conservapedia.
On Richard Dawkins' Conservapedia page: "However, Dawkins has offered no effective rebuttal to studies which show that the irreligious are more likely to be superstitious than evangelical Christians." LMFAO!!!! :D
@patu8010 Of course they don't. They are biased as hell.
Simply, what you were saying was that since Hitler supposedly was an evolutionary racist, evolution must be bad. That's stupid, so I offered a counter-example.
@patu8010 Guess what? Evolution states that all humans have a common ancestor. Now do you think that hitler wouldve endorsed the idea that the "pure race" had blood ties with the jews? Oh, and christianity is responsible for the death and misery of far more than hitler couldve dreamed. You know.. the inquisition, dark ages..it has spread ignorance and stupidity everyplace it has infected and so cant be and isnt good. You people are an insult to humanity. Dont you have some people to burn?
just a couple weeks ago i was reading conservapedia to see how crazy they are, and i found this, i started at evolution then went all over from creation science, proofs that evolution is wrong, anti darwin bullshit, ended up on an article called psuedoscince, where they seriously fucking listed the theory of relativity, i couldnt believe it.
According to them, black holes are "liberal pseudoscience" and a liberal is "someone who rejects logical and biblical standards, often for self-centered reasons". They also like to point out that certain people are atheists. This is fine, but its presented for a target audience that is fiercely against atheism (and other non-Christian groups) almost to say to the readers "Hey everyone! This guy is an atheist so everything he says is utter lunacy!".
@kingchrist100 I read some of the articles. If you look up the word "penis" you get sent to the "human reproduction" page. The page doesn't even explain how sexual intercourse is done. How are these facts?
Conservapedia offends me as an American, using the American flag as its logo -- no thanks for perpetuating the idea of Americans as proudly ignorant and uneducated. I guess now that we don't have the Soviet Union to compete with, we don't have to place any value on education any more...
I've not been able to view conservapedia for the last few months, i've never posted anything on it, only viewed things. Is the site down or is it blocking me because it picks up i visited TYT a few times and hence must be tainted? :)
Now I want to see the Gospels done as a supehero comic. All four Gospels compiled into a single narrative in a graphic novel, told totally straight... except Jesus wears a cape and a leotard with a big "JC" emblazoned on his chest.
Each time Conservapedia bashes science as liberal, they are accidentally praising liberalism.
If I were a Conservative I'd work hard to point out that well established theories like biological evolution, climate science, relativity aren't liberal, I would never give the liberal side "credit" for being the champions of science. But Conservapedia concedes science over to their left-wing political foes and does so proudly. Amazingly ignorant!!!
So, since theory of relativity is liberal propaganda and E=mcc isn't true, so nuking Japan never actually happened and is just a hoax, because nuclear fission is just a made up.
I'm not a physicist but I think Einstein said that nothing with MASS can travel faster than the speed of light. And I think his proclamation ends there. I get the impression that Albert did not like to pontificate & refrained from making statements about EVERYTHING this or EVERYTHING that. I think these new quantum mechanics dudes are saying that INFORMATION can travel faster than light... just sayin'. Conservapedia is still ridiculous. Are we sure Conservapedia is not a lampoon?
@sakar181 I often set the same test, or similar, for those that say prayer works or question the nature of the scientific theory. Sadly none of these superman style believers have taken me up on it
Conservapedia, demonizing every aspect of Communism in any way possible...only because of the Cold War. It makes me wanna wring the idiot that thought of such an idea.
Also, Conservapedia is for NITWITS (at least that's what I have concluded to when I visited the site).
How did he not know THE FLASH!? That's three respect points gone. Barry Allen just flicked him off on camera. He was so fast, nobody saw him. The camera also didn't catch Wally mooning the audience. Theory of Relativity, kiss Wally West's ginger ass. Pfft. Seriously, though, only in the comics, kids. ONLY IN FICTION.
Conservatives want to slow it down, hold back, and say 'we don't want to move forward.' Liberals want to advance society away from archaic principles, to progress. Humanity, as shown throughout history, does advance, as it should, despite all of the heel dragging by conservatives. With that said, I have always wondered, why do conservatives want to stop the advancement of mankind? That is inherently beneficial to the human race. Do conservatives not want humanity to grow, thrive, and succeed?

A lot of liberals are atheist, and they tell me they are atheists because religion is for idiots, but I would like to know, who are they to judge?, seriously, what makes them think that they are a person that is in a position to judge? Lots of smart people have been and are Christians.

Kudos to Conservapedia! Not everyone would have the courage or the foresight to let the severely learning disabled and the functionally illiterate to write its science articles.
Did anyone else get an ad before this video that began with "I don't see a conflict between being a scientist, and being a man of faith..." and ended with "I'm a Mormon"?
that website alsos says most atheists are fat...i have personally never met a fat/unhealthy atheist....every single one i have personally meant actually takes care of their body
@Isuckatpaintball2 Well actually most atheists could be fat, in the US that is. What these fundamentalists fail to realize is that statistically most americans in general are fat.
Andy Schlafly: isn't the whole point of being the child of a conservative religious nut to REBEL against conservative religious nuttery? Yet you embrace it...
Rationalwikians have done some internet scrounging and discovered that the beloved troll king TK has passed away, December 17th. Conservapedia and the intellectual lulz it provides us with daily will never be the same.
Conservapedia says "The fossil record does not support the theory of evolution and is one of the flaws in the theory of evolution." worst. logic. ever
Because a theory is a law. God what a dipshit. Theory=an idea, that may have proof behind it but is not made a law because it can not be truly proven as a pure law. Now before some idiots start talking shit to me, I believe that it applies to our reality, but as Ethan said only like 12 people on earth fully understand it
@tostedcheeseman Actually, in science, a "hypothesis" is an idea. When it gets backed up with evidence, then it becomes a scientific "theory".
"Laws" in science are not things that have been proven. They are observations of which no exceptions have been found. Example: the law of gravity is simply this statement "two objects with mass will attract one another". The law does not explain why, it's just a statement of what happens. If you want to know why, then you consult the THEORY of gravity.
It's funny how they used COMPUTERS that use MICROCHIPS and are powered by ELECTRICITY that is generated by using methods that were invented by observing PHYSICAL laws with human NEURONS in our BRAINS that are fueled with OXYGEN from our ATMOSPHERE on our tiny blue planet that is located in one GALAXY among BILLIONS in our UNIVERSE that was created about 13 BILLIONS of years ago
HOW THE FUCK CAN YOU STILL BELIEVE IN THE BEARDED WHITE MAN IN THE SKY? WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE?
God is not a bearded white guy in the sky. Who told you that crap? With all those things you listed I ask you, how can you not believe in a creator? If we created all that stuff who created us? Matter can neither be created or destroyed, it only changes form. So if we can't create who can? Big Bang? Where did all the stuff in the big bang come from? Evolution? If we evolved from monkeys why are there still monkeys? Its pretty arrogant for people to think that they are at the top of any chain.
@EthanHively "Who or what created all the matter around us?" Honest answer: we don't know.
"If we evolved from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?" Nothing in evolution says that man and monkeys can't exist at the same time. Analogy: The founding fathers of the US (Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, etc.) were all British citizens who became Americans after the revolution. If the first Americans were originally British, why are there still British people? Same answer with monkeys and humans.
Hell is the one place you don't have to believe in to go to. With that said My God is reaching down & offering you a way out. If I'm wrong the worst case is I spend my life serving others and trying to have a closer walk with the Prince of Peace. And when I die there is nothing. If your wrong you spent your life doing things your way and spending eternity seperated from God. You have nothing to loose and everything to gain. God loves you and so do I. I pray you find the answers you seek. Jn 3:16
@EthanHively Pascal's wager. Completely dishonest and wrong.
First, the dishonest part. You don't choose your beliefs. Either you believe in god or you don't. You can pretend to believe, but that's just faking it. Is god so blind that he can't see through the false worship? Or is god so desperate for attention that he'll take any kind of worship he can get, even if it's fake?
@EthanHively And if you choose not to love him, then you get tortured for all eternity. Some choice. That's like me putting a gun to your head and giving you the "choice" of your money or your life.
Have you ever heard the story of the Inuit who was told about god by a missionary? The Inuit asked if he didn't know about god when he died, would he have gone to hell. The missionary answered "no". The Inuit then replied, "so why did you tell me about god?"
God, being HOLY is incapable of being in the presence of sin. You make the choice to be separated from God, not the other way around. In my opinion Hell is just the complete absence of God. A place were there is weeping and gnashing of teeth. Not because you are physically being tortured but because being judged you are now aware of your folly and want more than anything to go home to the Father. "God is not willing that any should perish but that all should inherit the Kingdom.
@EthanHively Silly me. I thought god was capable of doing anything. I didn't realize that he's incapable of being in the presence of sin. So does this work like a court order and god must stay 500 feet away from sin at all times?
This god person sounds like a total prick. He gives you a brain and a sense of curiosity, but the only way to get back with him is to completely turn these gifts off and completely embrace the rantings of ancient people who also believed that the Earth was flat.
As for your Inuit story, here is the rest of the story. The missionary should have replied, having a relationship with God is not just about inheriting the Kingdom after death. It is also having a spiritual walk with Christ here on earth that enhances every aspect of your life. I try to live the Christian life out of love for God. I want to please my heavenly father much in the same way you may want to please your earthly father. God longs to have a personal relationship with you.
@EthanHively Having a spiritual walk with Christ will enhance my life? Strange, all those christians who later became atheists never complain about this lack of enhancement.
I'm already separated from god, why am I not weeping and gnashing my teeth? Even if I later find out that I was wrong, I'll be disappointed, but then I'll eventually move on.
What is so important about believing? Why does god turn you away when you finally realize that you were wrong after you die?
@EthanHively It's funny. The religious people claim that they have all the answers, but then they refuse to answer simple questions.
If god really exists, he gave us brains and a sense of curiosity. I would think he would look favorably upon honest skepticism, and look down upon blind faith and intellectual dishonesty.
You are not just asking simple questions. Every time you have asked a question I have given you the truth as I know it. Then you immediately fire back with more sometimes mean spirited questions. "To non believers Gods word will always sound like foolishness". God did give us brains and a sense of curiosity, and he does look favorably upon honest skepticism. Read the Bible and then if you have any questions based upon things about Gods word that you don't understand I will be here to help.
@EthanHively I've pointed out how your truth contradicts reality.
At least with science, when you point out the contradictions in a person's hypothesis, they're obligated to find out why those contradictions exist, even if it means discarding their hypothesis. I believe that's the way to find the truth. A book written by ancient people who were possibly having drug-induced visions hardly counts as the truth.
@EthanHively 2) Humans didn't "evolve from monkeys" in the misinformed manner you seem to think. Humans share a common ancestor with monkeys. In our family tree, at some point AGES ago, humans&monkeys EACH branched off as descendants from a common (same) ancestor&continued their own separate paths of evolving to where they currently are. So, from that common ancestor, TWO were produced, one branched off to evolve into us, the other branched off to evolve into what you call monkeys today.
Your wager only works if your christian god is the only possible god. If the jews are correct, then we both win because everyone goes back to god regardless of actions. If muslims are correct, then you go to hell for following a false prophet, while I can get to muslim heaven based solely on my good actions. If Odin is the true god, then neither of us go to Valhalla because we didn't die in battle. I can go on, but I don't know all the religions of the world.
Christians, Jews, and Muslims believe in the same God. Muslims even believe Christ was a prophet of God. I believe God has revealed himself too many peoples in many different ways. The point is not that you must follow my path to God; the point is you need to follow A path to God. I am not responsible for the results of my witness to you about the good news, that’s for the Spirit to handle. My obligation is just to testify. That way on Judgment Day you can't say no one told you about Gods love.
@EthanHively The answer to your ignorant question:1) It takes a VERY long time for evolution to noticeably occur, so obviously you're not going to be able to observe it "live". Creationists accept micro-evolution, but not macro-evolution, which they don't realize is the EXACT same mechanism, the only difference between them being they operate on different timescales. That would be like saying "I can walk to my bathroom but I can't walk to the post-office coz it's physically impossible" Nonsense.
When I first saw Conservapedia, I thought it was a parody.

Quantum nonlocality is very real but the morons at conservapedia have no idea what they are talking about. They can't even grasp simple concepts, like the earth was not created in 6 days, how are they going to argue against something like special relativity? Using quantum nonlocality no less.

Tactic11 8 months ago
@uniteordie1 Yes!
Quantum nonlocality and the majority of Quantum Mechanical Theory oppose the theory of relativity.
Quantum does not get along with Einsteinian and Newtonian physics.
Finally mass energy equivalence is not the theory of relativity and this one really pisses me off.

Because a theory is a law. God what a dipshit. Theory=an idea, that may have proof behind it but is not made a law because it can not be truly proven as a pure law. Now before some idiots start talking shit to me, I believe that it applies to our reality, but as Ethan said only like 12 people on earth fully understand it
tostedcheeseman 1 year ago
@tostedcheeseman Actually, in science, a "hypothesis" is an idea. When it gets backed up with evidence, then it becomes a scientific "theory".
"Laws" in science are not things that have been proven. They are observations of which no exceptions have been found. Example: the law of gravity is simply this statement "two objects with mass will attract one another". The law does not explain why, it's just a statement of what happens. If you want to know why, then you consult the THEORY of gravity.

HOW THE FUCK CAN YOU STILL BELIEVE IN THE BEARDED WHITE MAN IN THE SKY? WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE?
g3xter2 1 year ago
God is not a bearded white guy in the sky. Who told you that crap? With all those things you listed I ask you, how can you not believe in a creator? If we created all that stuff who created us? Matter can neither be created or destroyed, it only changes form. So if we can't create who can? Big Bang? Where did all the stuff in the big bang come from? Evolution? If we evolved from monkeys why are there still monkeys? Its pretty arrogant for people to think that they are at the top of any chain.
EthanHively 1 year ago
@EthanHively "Who or what created all the matter around us?" Honest answer: we don't know.
"If we evolved from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?" Nothing in evolution says that man and monkeys can't exist at the same time. Analogy: The founding fathers of the US (Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, etc.) were all British citizens who became Americans after the revolution. If the first Americans were originally British, why are there still British people? Same answer with monkeys and humans.
sleazybtd 1 year ago
Hell is the one place you don't have to believe in to go to. With that said My God is reaching down & offering you a way out. If I'm wrong the worst case is I spend my life serving others and trying to have a closer walk with the Prince of Peace. And when I die there is nothing. If your wrong you spent your life doing things your way and spending eternity seperated from God. You have nothing to loose and everything to gain. God loves you and so do I. I pray you find the answers you seek. Jn 3:16
EthanHively 1 year ago
@EthanHively Pascal's wager. Completely dishonest and wrong.
First, the dishonest part. You don't choose your beliefs. Either you believe in god or you don't. You can pretend to believe, but that's just faking it. Is god so blind that he can't see through the false worship? Or is god so desperate for attention that he'll take any kind of worship he can get, even if it's fake?
sleazybtd 1 year ago
@sleazybtd The greatest gift God gave us was free will. The free will to love him or not.
EthanHively 1 year ago
@EthanHively And if you choose not to love him, then you get tortured for all eternity. Some choice. That's like me putting a gun to your head and giving you the "choice" of your money or your life.
Have you ever heard the story of the Inuit who was told about god by a missionary? The Inuit asked if he didn't know about god when he died, would he have gone to hell. The missionary answered "no". The Inuit then replied, "so why did you tell me about god?"
You're not doing anyone any favors.
sleazybtd 1 year ago
God, being HOLY is incapable of being in the presence of sin. You make the choice to be separated from God, not the other way around. In my opinion Hell is just the complete absence of God. A place were there is weeping and gnashing of teeth. Not because you are physically being tortured but because being judged you are now aware of your folly and want more than anything to go home to the Father. "God is not willing that any should perish but that all should inherit the Kingdom.
EthanHively 1 year ago
@EthanHively Silly me. I thought god was capable of doing anything. I didn't realize that he's incapable of being in the presence of sin. So does this work like a court order and god must stay 500 feet away from sin at all times?
This god person sounds like a total prick. He gives you a brain and a sense of curiosity, but the only way to get back with him is to completely turn these gifts off and completely embrace the rantings of ancient people who also believed that the Earth was flat.
sleazybtd 1 year ago 3
As for your Inuit story, here is the rest of the story. The missionary should have replied, having a relationship with God is not just about inheriting the Kingdom after death. It is also having a spiritual walk with Christ here on earth that enhances every aspect of your life. I try to live the Christian life out of love for God. I want to please my heavenly father much in the same way you may want to please your earthly father. God longs to have a personal relationship with you.
EthanHively 1 year ago
@EthanHively Having a spiritual walk with Christ will enhance my life? Strange, all those christians who later became atheists never complain about this lack of enhancement.
I'm already separated from god, why am I not weeping and gnashing my teeth? Even if I later find out that I was wrong, I'll be disappointed, but then I'll eventually move on.
What is so important about believing? Why does god turn you away when you finally realize that you were wrong after you die?
sleazybtd 1 year ago
@sleazybtd I refuse to kick a dead horse. Good luck in all that you do and God Bless.
EthanHively 1 year ago
@EthanHively It's funny. The religious people claim that they have all the answers, but then they refuse to answer simple questions.
If god really exists, he gave us brains and a sense of curiosity. I would think he would look favorably upon honest skepticism, and look down upon blind faith and intellectual dishonesty.
sleazybtd 1 year ago
You are not just asking simple questions. Every time you have asked a question I have given you the truth as I know it. Then you immediately fire back with more sometimes mean spirited questions. "To non believers Gods word will always sound like foolishness". God did give us brains and a sense of curiosity, and he does look favorably upon honest skepticism. Read the Bible and then if you have any questions based upon things about Gods word that you don't understand I will be here to help.
EthanHively 1 year ago
@EthanHively I've pointed out how your truth contradicts reality.
At least with science, when you point out the contradictions in a person's hypothesis, they're obligated to find out why those contradictions exist, even if it means discarding their hypothesis. I believe that's the way to find the truth. A book written by ancient people who were possibly having drug-induced visions hardly counts as the truth.
sleazybtd 1 year ago
@EthanHively 2) Humans didn't "evolve from monkeys" in the misinformed manner you seem to think. Humans share a common ancestor with monkeys. In our family tree, at some point AGES ago, humans&monkeys EACH branched off as descendants from a common (same) ancestor&continued their own separate paths of evolving to where they currently are. So, from that common ancestor, TWO were produced, one branched off to evolve into us, the other branched off to evolve into what you call monkeys today.
ammarios 3 months ago 2
@EthanHively Now for the wrong part.
I can go on, but I don't know all the religions of the world.
sleazybtd 1 year ago
Christians, Jews, and Muslims believe in the same God. Muslims even believe Christ was a prophet of God. I believe God has revealed himself too many peoples in many different ways. The point is not that you must follow my path to God; the point is you need to follow A path to God. I am not responsible for the results of my witness to you about the good news, that’s for the Spirit to handle. My obligation is just to testify. That way on Judgment Day you can't say no one told you about Gods love.
EthanHively 1 year ago
@EthanHively The answer to your ignorant question:1) It takes a VERY long time for evolution to noticeably occur, so obviously you're not going to be able to observe it "live". Creationists accept micro-evolution, but not macro-evolution, which they don't realize is the EXACT same mechanism, the only difference between them being they operate on different timescales. That would be like saying "I can walk to my bathroom but I can't walk to the post-office coz it's physically impossible" Nonsense.
ammarios 3 months ago 2
