you do not have to do all of that to take applications off of the screen..... all you have to do is touch and hold the app you want to get rid of until it turns orange... once you do that you can dra it anywhere... and to get rid of it, drag it to the app droor until it turns red then it is gone. it takes like 2 seconds.. stop putting down that phone..

On the subject of app storage, I don't know how many times I've had to correct this; apps do not store on the droid's internal memory in their entirety, only the binary does which is typically very small (kbs in size). The app data gets stored on the microsd, this means that apps are not limited in size and you can store potentially hundreds of apps on the droid. It was designed purposefully this way as a deterrent to piracy.

1st, jailbreak your iPhone. It will be like a while new phone. 2nd what was all this droid dose crap about? What dose it do? Yeah it has a bigger screen and a keybord, big deal. I got a G1 and it is pratically the same software. The droids 2.0 software is no better in my opinion. It is just a cheap update. A jailbroken 3GS will take it down.

Yeah the iphone has a hardware end key, its the top button on the phone that you use to turn on/off.. it also ends calls.

You talk about a few problems that are apparent on most smartphones/iphone

Physical send and end? iPhone doesn't have those. Free gps? You mention it, but seem to point out its flaws more than it as a plus.

This review also got me thinking about how this phone is really based on the user. I love how the phone goes to sleep while its near your ear, I thought it was such a neat feature. I talked on it for a few hours, and it was very useful.

iphone is great but overhyped..and for me hardware keyboard is big deal, large screen is big deal, multitasking is big deal, and having huge real estate on screen while typing is also huge, no to mention all Google apps in android that i cannot find yet on iphone such as managing my google docs on the go..

i think you got a defective phone, i went from iphone to droid and im loving it. having customization and being able to change batteries and not drop calls is really nice. iphone could learn a few things from android. 2.0 does need refinement but i feel with time it will kick ass.

My Droid works exactly the way I expect and want it to. When in a call, I move the phone away from my head, and it lights up, then i can hang up, or press keys. If yours doesn't work like this, you can first check to make sure the face of the phone isn't grimey from your own face, and second, return it to the verizon store for an exchange due to a faulty proximity sensor.
