watching this makes me realize why thom yorke decided to go solo for a while. Half the band's playing the tambourine or the fucking maracas, what does he need them for?
@kadoushe Nah man, you got it all wrong. they re playing the tambourine because they are all contributing towards the song, they are not being selfish or anything, johhny knows that it all is for the good of the song, making it beautiful, it would not be the same without them.
It may only be a lemon but at least Johnny has a maraca. Colin on the other hand had to down his drink before the song and fill the bottle with rice. Not fair...
This song is a great example of how, even though Radiohead's music is not totally "out there" it still has a really "fresh" sound. People should start to question what creativity is. I hate the idea that just because someone did somethin first that somehow makes them creative. I mean any old idiot can stumble across new sounds and techniques, it takes real musicians like Radiohead to give it synergy and actually make it musical.
You are not to blame for, bittersweet distractor. From The Bends, To Ok Computer, to Kid A, to In Rainbows, to their B-sides, and everything they've done....they are just perfect.
@stroketheboat . What invideotape said makes a lot more sense now, cheers! Here's my interpretation of that cryptic comment: Johnny Greenwood is using a lemon shaped shaker as an instrument in this video. The lemon, which is bitter, could be taken as a metaphor for lifes misfortunes. But even lifes misfortunes can be used to create something majestic.
What I really love about this band is not only do they make fucking great music, but they're also really into what they're doing, for example, Thom Yorke is having like a musical orgasm while he's singing. I'm starting to get into Radiohead and they're amazing! I just got "In Rainbows" and I thought it was fantastic. Now I'm getting more of their stuff.

Many people start wars on this songs meaning. I find it to beautiful for a single meaning
It's almost spiritual.
Basically, this is the theme song of the Human Race.
"Dedicated to all you human beings"
It represents every aspect of human life with the few lyrics it has.
I love this song so fucking much.

I didn't think it cryptic.
I think he was saying Jonny's lemon-playing is majestic, or something, the stuff of which life is made :)
