But I went Dell for the warranty, since building your own pc, usually means no warranty. So for the lamens, or people who can't do computer repairs. I think Alienware is a great way. But only because of customer support.

@TenpaiUzumaki Actually some build their own because they get better warranties on all the parts, for example my video card has a lifetime warranty, cpu is 3 years, motherboard is 5 years, power supply is 5 years, memory is lifetime, etc etc etc. If i bought one off the shelf I would spend more money for less system and get only a 1 year warranty or pay extra for an extended warranty. Not everyone can build a system but those that can get way more for their money.

I only paid about $1900 for this system of course I left it all stock which is still better than just about any other desktop gaming replacement laptop. I suppose you could easily push the price up into the 5k if you got the 2TB solid state hard drive, the bluray player, the 1900+ rez display, SLI graphics card design, and other such top end bells and whistles, but it's not really necessary in order to get the top notch gaming experience that this system boasts. Great system! Mine arrives soon!
