    Not really - both work exactly the same way and it's personal preference as to which you use. I imagine the technique PenguinTutorials used in the bones demo is less work if you have a strict hierarchy of objects.. but if you have objects which you don't want to be affected by the overall rotation (-and yet need to appear behind a layer that does) you need to be careful with your encapsulations & their order. At the end of the day, both methods can be made to work in most cases

  • @Linuceum is there any advantage to using copies of your rotate layers as opposed to using sub -encapsulations? There is tutorial here on YT where is calls "bones effect".
