I sold my neos after about a year. It was very inaccurate and the trigger was horrible. I took it to a very good gunsmith and he was only able to get the trigger down to about a 4.5lb pull. It shot about a 2" group at 25 yards from bench rest. My Ruger Mark III can put 5 shots inside of a dime at the same distance also from a bench rest.
I love my neos.. it eats up winchester and federal bulk but hates CCI mini-mags... they jam while feeding at least once on every magazine.. Guess thats what I get for buyin the high dollar ammo.
Hi Fredhart, I will be a new gun owner, and i want something i can shoot in the weekends on target, will this gun do ? I'd also like the gun used for Home Self Defense....
great plinker. I bought the 6" barrel variant and used your video as a tutorial for field stripping. fun to shoot with a red dot. the Carbine Conversion is over 250 though. I'm waiting on getting a S&W AR15-22 for about 5 bills as a rifle plinker.. thanks for the video.
Yeah, I got one of these with the 4.5 barrel on it it isn't the most accurate pistol in the world but it is very fun to shoot. I'm thinking about getting a red dot for it.
I learned on this as my first semi auto pistol. Great to learn on. Works best with CCI MINI MAG or CCI Stinger. Traded it in for credit towards Glock 17. Gonna buy one again; its so fun and cheap to shoot.
Thanks Fred, good review. I own the 6" Inox version and a short time ago purchased the carbine kit for it. Lots of plinking fun with this weapon. BTW, the carbine kit is ALMOST as easy to convert as field stripping. As a carbine it is better balanced and gets lots of attention at the range. Downside of the carbine is that your face is very close to the breech and you get a fair amount of the blowback from it. As a pistol, I think it's top notch!
I agree the grip angle and the trigger guard look like the whitney wolverine but I think the grip style and the slide portion of the gun looks more like the H&K VP70. The barrel seems to stand out as it's own design.
i wanted to get one of them for awhile but can't find one and kinda afraid of what gander mountain wants for one there pistols or over priced badly. they want $700 for a XDM and $850 for the 5.25 inch one
@SmokingandTyping The safety works well and is easy to use. The grip angle took no getting use to for me but the mag release did. Disassembly is a dream too. If I were to pick one 22 pistol over the rest, it would be the Buckmark but my wife would pick the Neos. It's a very personal choose.
Is it right to assume that the firing pin spring is acting as a secondary recoil spring? that would explain how easy is to rack the slide, with the FP already cocked.
Thanks for the video--excellent review. I have been on the fence about getting one of these for the past month. I like the look of the Ruger and Browning, but for $100 more, I will get used to the Beretta.
@fredhart this may be an odd question but i noticed there is a black one of these thats the same length for like 238 dollars is it still like this gun with it being nicely loud and accurate?
I bought the solid black one with the 4.5 inch barrel. Put a 75.00 red dot sight on it and man this thing is a tack hammer!! awesome little gun and well worth the money. I put 1,000 rounds through it with no jams or misfires. I cant say enough good about this pistol! Get yourself one, I assure you, you wont be sorry!!
Sweet review, Fred. It is a nice gun and the folks at Beretta know a thing or two about making guns. I just don't like the idea of having to remove the barrel for field stripping the Neos. It just doesn't seem right, even though I own guns with a rotating or floating barrel. :-)
Very cool! We have the same model with the 4.5 inch barrel! I had showed the Neos to my wife online and she she liked the looks of it. I got it for her last fall for her birthday. She had previously been terrified of guns and had never shot before. First trip to the range, she put 200 rounds down range and loves shooting now!
Great shooting Fred. I would fall into that's an ugly gun category but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. lol. Having fun is what its all about. : )

Can the Neos come with multiple barrels? Or how did you acquire the 2nd barrel?

You helped me out again. These fell off my shortlist with the recall and I forgot.
What do you think of the thumb safety going up to fire and the mag release being under your index finger?
Aside from price and disassembly, how's this rate vs a Ruger 22/45?
If you had both, which would you use more? Which would your wife?
You almost have me sold at "most fun ever."

Man that's an ugly gun :) Ugliest gun I've seen so far. I don't care for its looks one bit.
But it shoots well and the takedown is OK and doesn't need a punch and a hammer to strip like Ruger guns ;).

another sweet review from a well-mannered folk.
You mentioned the slide being so light to rack,
And later I noticed the design of the firing pin.
Is it right to assume that the firing pin spring is acting as a secondary recoil spring? that would explain how easy is to rack the slide, with the FP already cocked.
Rather smart design.
That would
