The Zenbook is Vanilla Hackintoshable. If intel stopped sucking up to Apple and gave Thunderbolt support to the 1155 socket boards, USB3 would be outdated in an instant. Most people cant be assed to do the hard work though so the Macbook would probably win out here, considering that the i7 mobile form isn't much better than the i5... meh.

There's no reason to be jealous, its a competitive market and apple products are currently leading the competitive ladder, so there will be obvious copies of their products. Asus is not known for cheap products, it is the leading motherboard producer in the world and they are know for their reliability, don't forget innovations happen only in a competitive market, maybe we'll have holograms on our iphones next.

The iphone 4 current Led backlit capacitive screen is the highest on the market in terms of resolution. I would have to agree with you on their laptop products, they are inferior in performance to the current PC market but you must understand that people don't buy macbooks for gaming they buy them for its Operating system which is pretty much stupid proof for the average user.

My wife owns a Galaxy S II and I own a blackberry 9000(work) and iphone 4, I like all these phones, the thing I like the most from my iphone is the fact that the operating system is optimized perfectly, I find it more convenient in terms of browsing, listening to music etc.. The Galaxy S II is also great and the android OS is progressing quite nicely and I think Android will be the future but for now iOS is ahead in almost all departments.

iOS gives no restrictions to app developers, so there is no monopoly. You can jailbreak your iphone and it won't void the warranty, just make sure you restore it to factory setting before bringing it for repair. You can customize an iphone to look exactly like an android phone, there is unlimited things you can do after you jailbreak it, you can also install homebrew apps, even make them yourself with ease.

Jailbreaking takes less then 10 minutes, I personally don't have my iphone jailbroken but like I said you are not limited with options on the iphone. You can test an app on your iphone without a developer account again this can be done with a jailbroken iphone. I jailbreak phones for friends and family, they get no freezes and no crashes. Listen I get it you like android and like I said its the future but for now the iphone's iOS is a step ahead.

@5T34LTHcamoT4NK Better security (no anti-virus/malware is needed. 95% of the time), requires little to no basic maintenance (defrag, disk cleanup, reformat, error repairs, etc), lighter resource usage (i.e: Xubuntu on a Pentium 3 + 256mb RAM? yes. now imagine if it was for that 5 year old PC that can't run W7).

crappy hardware support tho, especially for gaming. but if you just want to browse the web, do basic documents and maybe some multimedia, a cheap PC with no OS + Linux is good enough.

@gamedexterity You can't say that W7 is shitty. Just as one can not say that OS X is shitty. They're good in different ways. Windows is more of a all-round machine, and is the best OS for gamers. OS X is more of a media based OS, and is better for photo/video handleing and such, but isn't compadible with many games.

Though it is a fact that Apple is overcharging for their products. But being the "lacoste" of the computer industry they do that. Its a good thing ASUS is taking the fight to them

It's not a copy - it's a competitor. Apple has set a standard, and Asus has just up'd it.

I have no preference when it comes to the Apple vs. Windows debate as the answer is relative to the user. However, I WOULD like to see a side by side performance comparison of their default OS's performance on the machine. It wouldn't define whether one OS tops the other, but we'd be able to see which product runs smoother out of the box. God knows we've all tried products with great specs that SUCKED.
