its a giant bubbler bubblers have a tube with a little hole. small mouth piece unlike tube which have giant bores. (if you own a bubbler you know what i am taking about. also you can turn ashcathers into bubblers by adding that small glass tube.

A bubbler is when the stem goes downward into the water (usually because the bowl (where the weed is placed) is attached to the area where the water is put in to make small bubblers very convenient because you don't have to deal with a slider, instead it has a carb) So I guess the only difference is that the bowl is attached to the piece itself and instead of using a slider you use a carb. While bongs use a slider which is not attached to the bowl (unless you have a cheap plastic one)
