  • looks like a butthole...

  • You are the best! Thank you very much!

  • Love your viedo's

  • @1975ccoleman Thank you.

  • I finally understand this stitch! After tutorial after tutorial, this has been the only one that has been helpful! You're wonderful, thank you!

  • @SparklingGrey I am happy you are getting the hang of the stitch.

  • Yours are most `favourited`set of videos for crochet; you really do a great job of walking us thru the steps...thanks for taking the time to share all of this :)

  • I know you said this is for practice only but could this be a coaster

  • @mrsilovemuffins123 you can continue increasing and turn it in to a coaster

  • You are a great teacher.....thank you so much

  • @dmaria0282 Thank you.

  • c'est envoûtant, félicitations,!!!!

  • @sonjabaila merci

  • thank you so much!Your tutorials helped me a whole lot! :*

  • a little help here! lol as i add rows it starts to concave? why? i do 3 chains to begin a row, then i do a double stick, wrap around go in pull through 2 then thru last 2? what am i doing wrong? i need to do a set of eyes! thanks

  • omg! i finally got it! thanks to you i am able to make a beanie!

and no wi;ll make the eyes to the gig hat i made ! til late last night! lol

hope i can record it and upload it. love alice

  • if i continue this would i get a hat?

  • @sammysoso101 if you continue the circle you'll only get a bigger circle just look up hat tutorials, I'm a beginner and there are great ones out there.

  • Are you using gauge F?

  • Good tutorial, I like how you (a) keep the camera close, (b) keep non-necessary motion to a minimum and (c) do a slow-motion version. So many people make videos as if they're teaching themselves, they just blow through the motion and think they've taught something.

    So thank you. =)

  • Can I use this to make soemthing?

  • Hiya, the circle that you make in this video, is it used in your other projects such as the mouse or monkey?

  • why do you do a chain 3 at each new round? just curious ive seen some that don't do that and also do i really need to count stitches? or can i just go by sight? thx a million! ~t

  • @writetanyaj Chain 3 is just one technique. I don't like to chain 3 but it was taught in books for so many years that I included this technique. The chain makes an ugly seam in projects with rounds. You can choose the technique that works best for you. Keep an open mind with crochet that there are many ways to achieve the same outcome taking a different path.

  • @crochet i was asking b/c im rusty at crochet and pickinig it up again...i learned as a little girl and now ive forgotten alot of what i learned just want to learn why things are done a certain way...thanks for the response!

  • @writetanyaj to make my afghan round an lay flat at all time .an how to an stitches an where.

  • @maryamsm I'm having the same problem too, I think you're suppose to increase the number of stitches around for the third row. But I don't know how many to increase by lol.

  • why is mine going in so much?!?!?!?!

  • meant to say looks cool

  • your nails are nice

  • I find it hard too fine the last stitch, too make a hat?

  • I kept making a weird circle that curled up and turned into a basket!! I made flowers, basket, etc basically everything except a round flat circle when i first did mine! I'm trying to make a lunch box that's half crochet and half fabric and is drawstring at the top with fabric handles... saw it under crochet lunch bag in google search, it was the first green image that pops up.

  • @maryamsm This is showing the beginning of a circle. A crochet circle can be infinite. To keep increasing, you work 2 stitches in the same stitch evenly around each round. The will let your work lay flat. If it starts curling up, then you are not working enough increase stitches.

  • @crochet does that mean to increase on every circle as in 2 ,3, 4, 5,or just too on every circle

  • @crochet can you show a increase to five rounds mine keep curling from the 3rd round i tried 2 then 3 in the next round but curled both time

  • Could you please post my comment.

  • @WitWithHumorTV Your comment is posted.

  • This is snail motion not slow motion. I feel lazy now and I want to go sleep.

  • thank you for this video in SLOW MOTION!

i am trying to learn how to do cirlces or rounds for earrings....and yes i'm a beginner

  • que bien explicado me encanto muy bueno de verdad

  • when i'm crocheting the circle i find that it curls up and ends up looking like a hat so i tried a couple of tecniques and now it looks all out of shape and kinda wonky, it does not sit flat at all..... i have now idea what im doing wrong either!

  • @86bbec I am having the same problem!!

  • I thought that was a treble and double crochet it like a treble but you don't wrap the wool first before you go into the center

  • my hardest thing was keeping track of the stitch numbers

  • When I join my rounds, I never know whether or not I count the first chain stitch(es) as the first crochet of the next round. Help?

  • @TheseShoesSoDontFly There a different ways it can be done and you can choose the technique you like the best. There is a traditional way where you work a chain 3 at the beginning. The chain counts as the first stitch. This technique will often leave a seam and create a sloppy look.

I prefer to work a chain 1 as a step up, which will not count as a stitch. Then I work a full double crochet as my first stitch. This makes the join look a little but neater.

  • 4 clicks ago i was watching niggahigh

  • haha I have the exact same pencil grips

  • @LaurieK9 You are all set. They work really well. :)

  • @crochet yeah they do :D

  • U know this actually can be a project cause i dance and this would be perfect fr a ballet bun hairnet thank u for the great video!

  • @171KITCAT That is a great idea

  • MIL GRACIAAAAAS, ESTE ES EL MEJOR VIDEO DE YOUTUBE!!

  • Thank you for these videos! It really helps. I have a question: how do you close circle? I mean, what do you do with the last loop, so the circle can't rap?

  • I, too, love your vidoes. I'm a newbie to crocheting. One question I do have, what's happening to/with the beginning tail of the chain, I can't make out if you're working that tail within your dc stitch?

  • Yeah it is easier to watch then read :P Thanks I didn't understand that from the Stitch n' Bitch book!

  • how do i end?

  • Love, love, love your videos, they are so super helpful, so grateful for your talents and so grateful that you share them with anyone!!

  • I just can't do it :/ i just keep making a ball of nothing.

  • I'm new to crochet and ur videos are super helpful ! Thanks for taking the time to make them.

  • Thanks for the slow motion and the repition. Too many videos run through it so quickly that I couldn't get it. This is incredibly clear for a beginner.

  • @pwgabachito I appreciate the comment, thank you.

  • Thanks 

  • @SunRiseQ8 You are welcome! :)

  • Is it Easy to make a 10ft by 10ft Circle

  • @Coolty101 It would be pretty easy. You will evenly work increase stitches and increase rounds to make the circle larger. You may run in to some trial and error.

  • @crochet does it count as an increase when you chain 3?

...mine got all curled up into a cup.

so I'm turning it into a nest for a felted chicken. hehe.

  • the best!!

  • YES i was finly able to do it ty for teaching me how to do that, (everyone else's vids either went to fast or didn't do quick enough, and ur vid i found helped me alot thank you so very much!

  • @Luveylovey You are welcome! I am happy you got it to work.

  • @Luveylovey can't agree more! This video has made me 50% more confident for being able to crochet a circle. A million thank yous!

  • why do you put a lot of slow motion in your videos

  • @justinbieberfan842 For anyone who needs a slow moving video

  • Is it better to chain three at the beginning of each round, or to use a stitch marker? It seems that with the chain 3 method there is a seam (and mine are not straight), but using the stitch marker seem like you're going in a continuous spiral, and then I'm not sure how to end. Guess I'd better keep practicing! :-/

  • @Slivings911 I am not a fan of using the chain as a stitch. I suggest that you use a stitch marker and the continual round. You can also use a chain 1(will not count as a stitch) and then work the full double crochet.

  • when i start the second round it's fine but about halfway through it starts to fold in a bit, almost like a mini beanie. i'm making sure to put it under the stitch and i'm going under every stitch :(

  • @lindsey314

it wont let me post pics with a direct URL so here it is with spaces

    smg.p h otobucket. com/albums/v683/oponop314/?action=view&current=two.jpg

  • @lindsey314 I do have a crochet page on Facebook where you can share pictures

  • @lindsey314 If you are wanting to make the circle larger, you will need to work additional increase stitches. That is work 2 double crochet in the same stitch. This should help keep the circle from curling up.

  • @lindsey314 hahaha i made mine into a mini beanie on purpose!

  • These videos are phenominal. Thank you so much for your abb\ility that you have shared.

  • @ma2cinni I appreciate the comment, thank you!

  • Thank you for creating these videos! I love watching you work and am finding them very helpful for learning to crochet!

  • @PrincessC176 Thank you very much! I appreciate the comment!

  • Can we use magi circle instead of chain four????? :O

  • @96Tiara You can use the magic circle to replace any chain

  • @crochet Thank you.

  • Thanks for teaching me to crochet.. I made my first baby cap from your circle crochet video. God Bless you :)

  • @ColeKaren I appreciate the comment, thank you.

  • thanks for this video. it is really helpful. i put this in favorites.

  • @CloudWatcherX I appreciate the comment, thank you.

  • where did you get the crochet grips from? Great tutorial helped me alot in making a circle for my start of a sackboy, thank you soo much. xx

  • @Jeffa101 I purchased them from Wal-mart! They are pencil grips.

  • @crochet

Ok thank you for the information. It's looks very funky lol. Thanks for the tutorials and the help. xx

  • This is really clear - thank you!

  • @flowfiona You are welcome!

  • This is really clear - thank you!

  • I know you said this is not for an actually project but can I turn it into my own project... if so do I just keep repeating the steps or is their more too it.

  • @ShalieNahito If you want the circle to continue getting larger in size, you will need to continue working increase stitches.

  • @crochet when i try to make a circle bitter than two round it starts to bunch up and become wavy rather than flat. how do I prevent this from happening?

  • Wow the slow motion really helped!

  • @madieebel Thank you!

  • The hardest part I have found is keeping track of where the rounds are supposed to start and stop.

  • @suz8879 What you can do is use a scrap piece of yarn to mark your first stitch. That way you will not crochet over the first stitch and you will recognize where to join.

  • This was so HELPFUL xDD

    Thanx alot

  • @Lolo88ize You are welcome!

  • oooohhh nice tip! didn't know about the chain 3 at the beginning after joining the loop, that helps so much!! i can't find the plastic/silicone thing you have around your crochets where i live, my fingers end up hurting so much after a couple of hours of crochetting! what do you call them so i could look online and order a couple? Thanks! :)

  • @louloumatou Thank you! The grips are called pencil grips.

  • @crochet thank you so much!
