  • @crashwarrior lmao

  • looking at some of the comments below and I cant understand why people turn a joke into a serious debate... some of you's need to lighten up and get a sense of humor.

  • @irafenian In Irish primary schools, Gaelscoils, Irish is taught through speaking it. In secondary schools, the course and only the fucking course is taught and we wouldn't be able to talk to someone in Irish if our lives depended on it... Honours leaving cert student.

  • @Designed2BeMe You can talk in Irish now after studying it since you were four, and also recieved honours grades in both junior and leabing cert?

  • big fuckin cross up on the hill lmfao

  • Love this guy

  • good craic i love tommy

  • I do think that Tommy is the funniest fucker on the planet right now.

  • Go to the pub lads, and sort out the irish question.......yawn...fuck,i might head out myself now

  • Why are you proud of ben batty ya pikey cunt

  • L

AnNd Im PrOud Of BeinNg Irish, Ya WanNa Havee A Go At Me Ya Fuckin Eejit ? @_@

  • Why are you proud of being Irish?

  • because its gr8!

  • Well Why Wouudnnt i Be Prouudd,.? Great Life (:

  • Only an Irish person knows why they are glad to be Irish. If you aren't Irish you will never be able to understand what is, to be Irish.

  • You're all talkng shit. Tell me, what is it, to be Irish?

  • Why? You don't actually care, do you?

You must not like the feeling of not being capable of understanding something.

  • If I didn't care I wouldn't be asking. I was born and raised and I'm still living in Ireland.

Saying that you're proud of being Irish is like saying you're proud of being tall, or proud of having a double-jointed thumb.

Pride should be reserved for something that you've achieved, like helping the poor or performing well at school.

Being Irish is not an achievement. It is an accident of geography at birth. Hence, I feel no more pride at being Irish than I do at being human.

  • Well being Irish, like being any race is a sense of unity. I unity like you said, you are just born into. It's hard to explain it to a person like you, and don't act offended, you know what type of person you are. Never have I actually met a genuine Irish person that doesn't understand, hmn. So I find it a bit... useless to explain it.

  • Tell me. What is a person like me like?

"Never have I actually met a genuine Irish person that doesn't understand, hmn. So I find it a bit... useless to explain it. "

Maybe you should meet more people. I think your problem is that you can't explain it, otherwise you would have done so already.

  • ..

    Nope.

I thought it would be descent of me to let you know that I have grown bored of you. You are so very common. It is... remarkable.

    Bye.

  • Ok. Run along. My suspicions that you are incapable of explaining yourself on 'Irish Pride' have been proved correct.

    Well done.

  • By the way. The word I think you were after is "decent" and not "descent" which has a completely different meaning and makes no sense in the context of your comment.

  • shut up will ya

  • No, I feel no pride in being from Munster or being atheist. It's just a YouTube username. It's really not that important.

  • Well said Munster, well said.

  • Thank you. I was beginning to think I was all alone on this one.

  • @MunsterAtheist so many retards. The only "pride" - if you can call it that - I have about being Irish is that since everyone loves us so we can get away with murder.

  • That's probably true. I'm not going to murder anyone to find out though :)

  • Atheists are just as bad as religious fanatics.

  • @DieChavScum haha great name

  • how did you get the fadas on the keyboard?

  • alt gr + the vowel

  • Well my mother was born in belfast then moved to Brum england, her mothers family are named is de lager which i'm told is french. Have you ever heard of it ? i think it's pronounced by the irish as ' dee largee'.

  • Bhain sé gaire asam ach i gcónaí bíonn náire orm nuair a chloisim réadóirí grinne na hÉireann ag cur "fuck" amach ró-mhinic. Tá Gaeilge ag Dara Ó Briain agus ní bhíonn an drochchaint céanna aige i mBéarla, is léir go dtéann easpa na teangan i bhfeidhm go mór orainn agus sinne os comhair an domhain mór.

  • All my comments are directed at Inm8, what a genius screenname BTW, think that up all by yourself?

  • ....Read a fucking history book. Better yet, you join the army, you'd make great cannon fodder, you're proud of being english you don't know why, but you are, you are proud of something you had no control over and no part in. You simply put are as dumb as fuck, you have nothing to be proud of, neither does England. Fuck you, you cunt.

  • ...But no, were stuck with you, you ignorant little shit, you are still alive spouting your bullshit ,while families across your nation are mouring men who, although they were english and brainwashed, had a future and stood up for what they believed in (no matter how ridiculos), who GAVE THEIR LIVES, instead of being little pussies and talking shit online like you....

  • And to think, under different circumstances you could have been one of those 9 brits k.i.a recently. How much better the world would probably be and at least there would be a decent brit, a worthwhile humanbeing, no doubt someone with friends and at least an average iq alive instead of you.....

  • cracker vid. funny as fuck. lol

  • Fuckin try it. Go on u cunt

  • why is that exactly? because we are a hell of a lot more intelligent and funnier than you? or is it because we dont put random comments out against a whole type of people for no reason whatsoever just to try and look hard?

  • lol its true but lol

  • best station in the country

    Maith thu

    x

  • He would make such a cool priest lol. Very entertaining. Elevating! lol

  • why has he got an ear piece? is it for someone to remind him of his jokes

  • its his mic not an ear piece

  • LOL the Cross on Mount Royal?

  • savage

  • an mhaith!!:) go hiontach!!! :L ..

    slan!

  • Ta tommy ana-mhaith bhi me ag gaire agus ta pian i mo bholg.....nil a fhois agam gaeilge freisin!!! ;-)

  • Ta Tommy go hiontach ar fad!!!

  • Surprised he didn't make a paralel with the French-speaking situation there...

  • i like his shoes;)

  • The English language is a brick wall and fuck is my chisel!

  • Aye most of us can't speak our own language lol

  • lmfao

  • ye because the fucking brits made us speak this shit language id rather speak irish

  • @Irishfianna yaaaa stupid english because of them my country speak english instead of french and are fucking protestants

  • @Irishfianna

Yeah, how unlucky are we that we now speak a language that Australians, Americans, Canadians, English and millions of others speak (many of them as a second language).

I'd much rather be a patriot who has to learn another fucking language to get a job anywhere else.

It's just a method of communication man, if it works, it works.

  • @gavbag1234 Totaly agree with you. How disasterous it would be for mankind to only speak one language! Less languages is better. Fucking waste of time trying to teach Irish to kids. Same as religion. Modern times people, forget the past. Time to move on!

  • @Irishfianna I was reading about this topic and apparently the Irish language has declined alarmingly over the last 50 years, long after Britain left, so it's done no better under a friendly regime than a hostile one

  • @MrMoel1 very right MrMoel, but from what i understand thats because irish saw something of a revival at the turn of the century, so probably spiked then and the decline is the fallout from that. the english influence on its decline began a few centuries before that with plantations and reformation.

  • @MrMoel1 because nobody know how to speak it anymore? irishfianna is right. the only place that speaks irish is the gaeltachts and well they are small and we are forced in schools, therefore sparking people to dislike it. reading over the topic wont help you understand if your not irish in my opinion...

  • @Irishfianna then fuckin go and learn it and stop bein a sectarian wee shit.

  • @Irishfianna Iss maith líom Tommy, I'm irish but get taught by my secondary school you should consider going to an irish school well an irish speaking school

  • ah tá sé seo go fuckin hiontach!

  • Ba brea liom Tommy Tiernan - Tá sé go híontach! Bhí mé ag gáire an am go léir a bhí mé ag féachant ar seo!! =]

  • nil a fhios agam lol

  • is brea liom tommy

  • it's not bad not having your own language, and you speak that language too ya know.

  • Haha is brea liom Tommy! Tá sé go hiotach((ta brón orm, ni me go maith an gaelige))! Erm, an maith leat cacá agus milsean? :D

  • Is mise le meas. . . . . . .

  • im irish and moved to the uk a week ago....proud to be the green

  • where from mate, am from Limerick.

  • same here!

  • so true!

  • Tá o bhfad níos mó i gceist anseo ná na Sasnaigh agus Devalera.

Rinne an pobal rogha tar éis an Gorta Mór gan an teanga a labhairt.

Ach tá rogha againn anois. Eirigí amach as bheith ag gearráin faoi na muinteóirí. Bhí neart acu úfásach, ach cad faoí, ní raibh muinteóirí maithe againn lé Bearla na Francais.

  • to be honest, if irish was taught better in schools it would still be spoken nowadays.. i remember having to learn irish..not as spoken everyday stuff, but silly poems and stories etc... it should thought better, like a foreign language as such.. conversation everyday language...... oh god... flashbacks... poems... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • well you can thank develera for this system of learning irish, him and the english

  • @clyons1977

Exactly too much of fecking Peig Sayers or other crap you don't need

  • N'fheadar a bhfuil aon ghaeilge ag Tommy anois, mar tá sé ina chónaí san Ghallaimh ar feadh cúpla bhliain anois, cosúil le Hector.

  • Bím ag eisteacht leis an stáisiún i102-104 agus Bíonn tommy ábalta gaeilge a labhairt!

  • ye the english took the irish people's language away when they invaded. Changed the place names, culture and language of Ireland..... bastards. But more and more people are learning irish now.

  • Can we do away with bullshit like the English stole the language. Níl siad ann faoi lathair ach tá an Shoneens ann fós ach íad ag breathnú ar Mheiricea anois. West Brit=East Yank

  • The phoenix rises from its own ashes. Irish shall ressurect and live again. Irish and Ireland is eternal.

  • Note: I wrote "Irish and Ireland IS eternal because they are one and inseparable.

  • fheiceáil - to see

Why do you think Irish is "fucked up"

why the "what the fuck does it mean", if you haven't studied it, of course you don't know what it means.

    Many of us speak both

  • dia duit,

i was just wondering how to put fadas on my laptop, I would love to speak Irish, becuase I am Irish but I don't know how to do fadas, can you please help me??

  • Ctrl+Alt+an litir is feider leat.

    Fáilte romhat.

  • Go raibh mile maith agut =]

  • I am english but my grandparents came from ireland and i have cousins in america and they tell me how they are irish and i am irish and im like no your not haha your american of irish people, i would personally like to thank you for admitting your american instead of pretending your irish, i believe we should all be proud of our heritage but some people go over the top as to call themselves irish, its just stupid.

  • i think its cos the irish are the best lol

  • haha you have a point my friend, you have a point :P

  • So you speak your own language?

  • Sea, agus chun ceapadh ná fuil teanga ag na Meiriceánaigh seachas teanga na Sasanach. Uaireanta smaoiním ar chomh hait is atá sé a bheith ag labhairt teangan ná fuil leat, fiú amháin!!!

Yeah, and to think that the Americans don't even have their own language except that of the English. Sometimes I wonder how disturbing it must be to be speaking a language that isn't even yours!!!

  • cén fáth a bhfuil sibh ag caint gaielge? ní beidh fhios ag gach duine céard atá sibh ag rá.tommy tiernan is my neighbour so i met him a few times, and i met des bishop last week, and i prefer des as a person, but tommy is funnier.

  • Mar is brea linn í.

  • dia duit i dont no dat much irish but if u want 2 learn go 2 da gailtacht

  • Gaelltacht dear, but fareplay

  • Tommy Tiernan an-maith

  • Múininn siad geailge mi cheart ar scoil. Ba cheart daoine as Eireann in ann Geailge a labhart tar éis 12 bliann ar scoil...Tá sé feckin ridiculous. Bhí an Des bishop program sinn eye-opener.

  • Your ancestral Language is your own even if it will take you a year to master it. Your Language is inside you, in your blood, in your IDN. Finally, the reward comes by on the day you are able to look at your invader straight in the eye and tell him/her in Irish, whatever you are, dog or god, "The Language of my homeland is Irish!"

  • "Your ancestral Language is your own even if it will take you a year to master it"

17 years in the irish education system and all I actually managed was a 15 minute conversation about my family and past times! lol. I will personally give a big shiney maedal to any person that manages to master irish in year!!!!!!! NOT POSSIBLE!!

  • My sis met Des Bishop who spent 3 months in the Gaeltacht. He can't write Irish, but he can speak it fluently, and he can use the Irish tenses properly even though he doesn't know anything about the aimsir fhaistineach etc.

  • I started learning a Celtic Language one and a half yrs ago. Breizhoneg (Briton). Now I can easily and quickly translate my favourite articles from novels or a newspaper. 'Ar Marh Dall' (The Blind Horse) is a compilation of tales, poems and (Briton) Breizhonek literature. Now I can READ, WRITE, smile, laugh, SPEAK, enjoy and discover the Celtic world. A recent novel is 'Dre Prenestr'(Through the Window) by Goulc'han Kervella. My own ancestral Language is Luo (of Lake Victoria and Nile) shores.

  • It is possible! Just head to the gaeltacht! We all know that Irish syllabus in school is shit!

  • Language is learned not genetic. And the reward doesn't come from defining yourself against someone else, particularly "the invader" whoever the living embodiment of the same might be in 2008.

As for taking a year to master, it takes longer, to "master" (again whatever that means, do you mean James Joyce or Famous Seámus mastery for example? That's a distant goal even for native English speakers like myself) a relatively simple language like English, never mind Irish... ps what's IDN?

  • Is ludramán ceart é. Agus níl sé greannmhar ach an oiread.

  • !!!!!!!tá sé greannmhar!!!!!

  • Muna bhfuil sé greannmhar conas a bhfuil sé mar an greannadóir ba cailliúla le teacht amach as Éire riamh??

  • An gceapann tú i ndáiríre go bhfuil ceangail idir cáil agus tallann? Ar aon nós, cad faoi Dave Allen, Dylan Moran, Dara Ó Briain srl? Tá i bhfad níos mó clú agus cáil (agus tallan) ag baint leo.

  • Tá an-tallann ag an triúir acu sin chomh maith ach ceapaim fhéin go bhfuil rud éiginn speisialta ag Tommy nach bhfuil acu.Thaitnionn Dylan Moran agus Dara O'Briain go mór liom ach má chuir aon duine cheist orm cé a bhfuil mar an greannadóir is fearr in Éirinn ag an ám seo bheidh Tommy T mar mo fregra!Ach tá do thuairim féin agat agus is feidir liom a fheiceáil cén fath nach thaitnóidh sé le dhaoine.Anois is aris faighim saghas buartha go bhfuil sé ag dul sios droch bóthar le roinnt dá material!

  • Bhuel, mar a dúirt tú, tá mo thuairim féin agam agus níl mé chun é a athrú go luath! Tá greann an-phearsanta, níl sé loighciúil, agus tá sé difriúil ó dhuine go duine.

  • Gan dabht.

  • FUCK IS MY CHIZZL

  • Is laochra é Tommy arís.
