For anyone here feeling a bit daunted at the steep makeup prices of MAC and other such brands... Don't be. Yes, it's a big buy, but think of it just like any other accessory or article of clothing... the cheap stuff wears down, wears away, breaks/rips/falls apart more easily. The expensive stuff is an investment, it'll last a lot longer AND look better. Trust me, it's well worth it.

I must agree "Woodwinked" is a great eyeshadow. It's one of my favorite eyeshadows. You may like "Amber Lights" too... That's another eyeshadow that seem to go with almost everything.. :)

I've watched many of your tutorials. I throughly enjoy them because you seem very down-to-earth, and laid back about make-up--which can be a bit daunting to think about doing everyday. I have two questions for you: Have you considered doing a tutorial on less expensive make-up? Like the kind I can find at my local drugstore. And is it possible to have a "signature" look without being boring?

I've tried some drugstore makeup and haven't had much luck so they don't make it to my videos. Having a signature look is fine. Some people will think it is boring because it is the same look over and over again but who cares. If you want to have a signature look go ahead and work it.

DR, you are right! For so long, people of African descent and especially Black Americans were made fun of for having thick lips, as well as broad, round, flat type noses AND kinky, tightly coiled, course hair.

If you study the minstrel shows that were done in America, you will definitely see what I mean in terms of Black people and big lips. Now, thick/full lips is a desireable trait by many white women and the larger cosmetic/fashion industry which is predominantly white.
