  • i want this when i play funeral fog from mayhem

  • Amazing! But the movie ends right at the time the tonearm is about to hit the toy base, so it will not allow to play the record till the end, right?

  • @PKamargo

    you are absolutely correct.

  • I have seen one demonstrated by a phonograph collector at my stamp club. Its the National toy company and it advertises several other types including a demale and has "Patent 1915" on the box, its 1910s rather than 20s as jazz only caught on after 1920

  • @princette

    Thanks for the info.

  • omg that is hilarious!

  • He'll pull in all the ladies with those moves!

  • Hi I'd like info how to get one for my phonograph

    How do I contact them?

    Send me a email

    Thanks

  • @Turkeydoodlers

Sorry, last time I checked, in 2011, the guy who made these stopped doing them. Real Bummer.

  • oh man thats cool

  • Damn! He even dances at the same beat as the music. Amazing.

  • Love it I want one!

  • If you really want one drop me a note. There is a phonograph collector here in Florida who makes them for a reasonable price. He also makes Shamandy...see my other video.

  • Underneath the base is a little disc that fits over the spindle in the center of the record. As the record spins so does the spindle moving the disc on the base. The disc turns parts inside the base moving the rod that the toy on top is connected to up and down and turning it at the same time. The up and down motion causes the arms and legs to move.

  • How exactly does it work? It's an amazing item by the way. I never heard of or seen one these phonograph toys until I came upon this video.

  • Very cool! Our family just found one at a relatives house and we didn't know what it was. Thanks for the demo!

  • superbe merci

  • excellent thanks, not seen rastus before. very cool

  • Lovely recording! Who is the band? Rastus seems to sync up nicely with their straight-8ths style!

  • The tune's called "Cuddle Up Blues". Rastus is extremely neat!

  • A fascinating look into a by-gone era. Thanx.

  • Have always wanted to see one of these in action. Thanks...........

  • JAJAJA!, es la cosa más bonita que he visto hace siglos!!. 1920 ?, vaya joya, seguro que no era un aparato al alcance de cualquiera. Maravilloso!.
