Just like in the games, Silver came from the future to prevent a future disaster. And just like in Sonic Next Gen, Silver thought it was Sonic who was going to cause it. His job is not done, since he still looking for the Freedom Fighter member who will cause the disaster of his timeline to happen.

As for the Hooded hedgehog. He is an old character of the comics. Rob'o Hedge, cousin of Amy Rose (in the comics only)
