Democracy occurs when the citizens have a say in the government and the direction it goes in, where political opponents aren't threatened by death, jailed for no reason, and cannot speak out against their own government without serious repercussions.

West Bank is simply a term invented by Jordan when they occupied Judea and Samaria from 1948-67. There are no borders, only voided armistice lines.
Gaza's borders are no in dispute, hence the 100% pullout by Israel in Aug 2005. The result, as with the pullout of Lebanon in 2000, shows that there is no end to Arab violence even if there is a pullout by Israel.

Its called a compromise, since the Arabs didn't accept Israel along the UN mandate in 1948. Israel was only met with wars of annihilation by the Arabs. Only now are they accepting previous UN resolutions that they previously rejected.
The Arabs must accept a great portion of these so called refugees (64% which were internally displaced in 1948) in their respective countries as the Jews which were ACTUALLY forcefully evicted from Arab countries in N. Africa and the ME (over 850,000)

This was the one question, I feel, that exposed Obama's foriegn policy weakness. God forbid this should ever happen, but McCain answered this question directly. Obama went off on a tangent, talking about cost analysis and nukes... all important points, but he hedged the question on an issue where you can't afford to hedge. Brokaw had to cut him off.
Before everyone calls me a warmonger, I'm not advocating war at all! I'm just criticizing the political, calculated nature of Obama's answer.

It would have to go through 3 or 4 other countries first - all with US troops in them! Geeze! the technical way of how to fight Iran we should leave for generals. my deepest hope is that we will never have to get there. and hopefully we will not get there if the world will stand united against Iran in diplomacy first of all. for that to happen we need a strong America and a strong NATO. that can have diplomatic pressure on the iranians and or the Russians that build the nuclear plants for them. in my view Obama is the one that can make that but I wish success to both candidates
