  • This song is timeless and Classic just like the Living Legend Herself. We all Need to Reach out and Touch Somebody's hand.

  • Yeah right Nellie David, As one of Mary Wilson's Fans, your Musical Taste is "Questionable" at best, Perhaps Diana will pass that Hair Piece down to Miss Mary, Afterall, she's paying the Bills, Displaying Diana's Used Clothing these days

  • wot vat on er ead a birdsnest .she has the same hair piece for 40 years. it must be flea ridden by now. make an appointment wi the hairdresser love. voice as usual bloody awfull. ahhh.cant stand it. gives me a laugh someone reach out and strangkle this cat with a strangulated hernia voice.

  • Diana-mite at its best. Her skin looks like liquid velvet!

  • no one with a semblence of intelligence would ever compare beyonce with miss ross, diana has been an icon and legend for 50 years longer than beyonce has been alive, none of beyonces music is memorable and in the fullness of time she will be forgotton.

  • @SuperGraystoke well i just did because its only right!!! you old farts need to learn something from us young twenty somethings which is 'giving honor where its due"!!!

  • Princess Diana.. What a star! What a video. What an audience!!! Looking beautiful as ever. xxx

  • I have been a Diana Ross fan since the 1960s. I'm such a fag. But I love this woman, despite some of the stupid stuff she has done.

  • RIP Nick Ashford.

  • DESCANSA EN PAZ NICK ASHFORD LINDA MUSICA LINDA VIDA FELIZ VIAJE............

  • I'm 19 n love this

  • wonderful....

  • When she was with The Supremes, her ego got so big that she destroyed The Supremes. I hope that Beyonce didn't do the same thing with Destiny's Child. If Beyonce did, T'is a really big shame. That's why divas have a bad name these days, girls. Nice tune, by the way.

  • @kja427 first of all Beyonce has a very strong humble christian foundation so dont you dare put her in that catagory ok!!!

  • @Beyoncefan1000 can you flash your booty for strangers, invite male strippers on stage to perform all kinds of softporn with you and still claim to have "strong, humble christian foundation"??? LOL (not that I mind)

  • @MrJudube were not talking about lady gaga and rihanna ok!! we are talking about beyonce so none of that you just mentioned was even called for because thats not what she represents and since you want to be all technical and shit, Diana ross loves Beyonce and has said numerous of times that Beyonce will have long legs(longevity0 in the music industry because of her humble and good foundation so you can stfu!!

  • @Beyoncefan1000 "stfu" wasn't nice you moron. If I'm wrong, try to disprove any example I gave.

  • Song reminds me of when my friend reached out and touched my hand...so sweet...now if only i cld get em to help..i sent him email few wks ago but still hvnt heard bck. Hoping he didn't lose the email. I know he'll write bck n offer to help like he alw did..otherwise why reach out n touch somebodys hand if u not gonna follow thru n help right? Just sayin' great song..

  • Actually she sounds very good here. She's clearly giving it her all. She sounds better here than in other "Reach Out" performances. That dress is very old at this point. I think it's an Oscar de la Renta from 1993.

  • i love diana <3333

  • Great to see all the stars donate their time !

  • She shines in a room of stars!! not at her vocal best here, but as always she makes it up in presence, elegance, glamour!!! This is a STAR..

  • Her outfit is so beautiful!!! I love her so much

  • Miss Valerie Simpson should be praised for writing & producing this song for Diana.

  • Diana is a saint, I don't care what people say about her. Let's stop being bitchy and just reach out and touch.....

  • she gives me goose bumps!.. I love her music, and her voice is 'incredible'... im using this song towards my non profit organization "Enough is Enough"= Fighting against Abuse of ALL kinds. Including Animals. I LOVE YOU ANGEL 'DIANA'.

  • i love you!

  • yes, miss ross!!! god bless you, girl!

  • it is a graet DIANA love u for ever

  • Diana is a ageless wonder, She still sings beautifully

  • lOVE THE SENTIMENTS IN THIS SONG ..HMMMM IF ONLY EH....WELL THIS IS CERTAINLY MY MOTTO.....THX FOR SHARING ~MUCH RESPECT~

  • I just love this performance out of all the other times shes song this song!!

  • Beautiful! X

  • I AGREE WITH FIREANDRAIN22..i so agreee......

  • she's so incredible looking

the other divas of her generation can only look on in envy

so what , her voice is not what it was but her charisma will always get her through

she is magnificent and will always be

  • The voice? It's matured, deepened, thickened, widened. The high notes come less, but the uniqueness of the voice is still there. I actually prefer hearing her sing songs like this more now. Slow stuff...the Billie Holiday set. She sings them better now than she did 30 years ago. Imbued with wisdom.

I saw her in Atlantic City about 2 months before this performance, and that woman put on the most entertaining concert I've been to. So engaged, so exciting. I'll never forget that night...

  • this was really a moment for her. She was bouncing back after probably the most difficult period in her life. To see her giving herself for such a good cause made me smile.

  • it's HER song...and she did just fine.

  • having the best voice doesnt make you a superstar, yet she is.....just look at how she just stands there posed singing such a beautiful song

    its so magical...YO UGO GIRL!!!

  • Diana should have been apart of the Obama concerts singing this song!

  • "Reach Out And Touch" inclusive the walk in the audience should be back in the programme for every upcoming Diana Ross Concert.

  • i know diana´s voice is not the same, but c´mon shes "a little older" i love her anyway for me she will always be the best...

  • She is one of the top entertainers of all time. She had a beautiful voice that was trained by the famous Juliard school of music, but it was her flair for entertainment that made her a fantastic act.The reason her voice sounds thicker today is due to scar tissue from overuse of the vocal chords. That happens to many of the great singers.Happy that she got her life together after some trying times and now is a role model for her adorable kids. She still has perfect pitch, and does a few benefits.

  • I Would agree that her voice is different today opposed to nearly 40 years ago when she recorded this song. The voice is still good unique--she can still sing .Her sound is thicker but no less appealing. If this was a song she recorded today it would be more like "hope is an open window". Very Good.

  • Correction: This is America....

  • Paul, last time I checked my mother did not change her name to Paul. I checked again and his is America. Why don't you enjoy the music and stop trying to control another. I support Senator Barack Obama. Paul, peace be unto you.

  • Senator Barack Obama this is what America is all about. I welcome your Change Initiatives.

  • Let's just enjoy the music and Miss Ross. Why bring politics into this?

  • I Dedicate this song to Senator Barack Obama. I know today was a rough day. But look up and keep soaring like an eagle. You will be just fine!

  • Diana Ross is the best, I love that dress she is wearing. Why is everyone on the phone when she is singing because you think they would want to listen to her.

  • The people on the phone are doing callcenterwork for charity. When you phoned to 1-800-435-365, you had the chance to get one of those celebrities who took up your gift.

So they weren't able to enjoy (although it's great backgroundmusic) because they had to work.

  • class.

  • is one of her backing singers vanessa williams?

  • she has always been tops in my book love her

  • 100 percent brilliant controlled well thought out performance of this classic. Over thirty years after recording this Ashford and Simpson masterpiece, she still sounds very close to the way she sounded in her 20's. Good for her! Good for us too.

  • Super super classic from Diana Ross

  • Wonderful, she still has the voice

  • im singing this in my choir

  • One of my all time favourite songs .....If we all reach out and touch somebodys hand, this world will truly be a better place!!

  • this made me cry :-( such a touching ong lets all unite as one and show love to one another and help each other in need.

  • she has been my idol since i was 4 years old I am now 42 i swear i had lung and breast cancer and just listening to her and to her and marvin saved my life 100% remission thank you MS. ROSS i love you and your daughters

  • i was told that backstage prior to this performance miss ross was a bundle of nerves; this was her first live performance after all of the personal and professional difficulties. since then, i've seen her many times in concert and she was on point. yes the voice has changed and she doesn't hit the high notes as easily, but the control and clarity which has been her staple is still there. these days her sound is thicker but no less appealing and on the Billie Holiday stuff...a revelation.

  • diana is the best, legendary diva

  • I think that Diana is the most beautiful now than in all her career. I say that because I think now she emanates a majestic beauty within that matches that on the outside. I hated her hair-bun androgenous look of the mid/late '70s, and the Dynasty '80s overkill. Now, she seems...just supremely serene. :)

  • i feel like on this performance diana ross voice is actually more soulful and stronger and matured than in her earlier dayz of singing... people need to realize with getting older of course your voice gonnna change but change dosent always mean worse i think she has worked her voice in a way with the change thats for the better her voice use to be very whiny and thin

  • Legendary Diva looking and sounding great...last week Diana rocked a sold-out LA audience and in great form...Bravo Miss Ross and welcome back!!!

  • we're singing this in our school....in chorus

  • wow she sounds great here... U go Diane

  • I love this song

  • wow. she's in her 60's and look how good looking she is. beautyfull lady for sure.

  • After 40 years she is still able to reach out and touch. Her voice has changed over time, but I don't care if she sings in sing language, she is still the "BOSS". While others are resting on their laurels, she's still trying to make a difference. Way to go miss Ross, Happy Birthday.

  • LOVETHESUPREMES, tell me what your MAMA,PAPA, all your relatives and sorry ass friends like your self have achieved in your 'PATHETIC LIFE'!

  • Comment removed

  • Regardless of how you feel about her... Hate her if you must; but anyone who looks THAT good at age 60 has my vote! (Even if she couldn't sing a lick! Even if you turned down the volume and I couldn't hear a thing!)

  • Whoa she's 60, she looks fabolous!

  • 60 and looking 40 . . . you go gurrl.

  • FABOLOUS.

  • Kicking butt and looking great at over 60! Diana Ross is a national treasure, and who else to close out a show when the world saw its greatest natural disaster. This lady is class...a life of stardom and a life of dedication to a better world! And the voice...sounds like yesterday...kicking butt! The true SUPERSTAR!!!!

  • No one over 60 should look this good. This was just last year, and Diana looks fabulous! Furthermore, her voice seems to be holding up quite well. Great video.

  • I've noticed that as well in fact although the key is changed, she has to pull back vocally so she won't hit high notes too high, good sign

  • that key has not changed...her voice is thicker now but she is singing in the same key it was has always been in -- and she sounds good to me.

  • I recall that this clip was immediately following the Tsunami disaster. I had seen her a couple of months in Atlantic city at Ceasars and this is how she looked..very much like the Diana Ross I've loved for many years! Glorious!!

  • Bravo Ms. Ross for reaching out. Great video clip. She really rips into the song at the end.
