For the complaints that it's too easy, the key is to *not* do any of the DLC before taking it on. Makes it a lot harder, at least solo, even if you do the smart thing and leave one of the purple tentacles alive so that they don't respawn to make your life miserable.
Why did you get a level? but this fight was.. pretty intense got me a little bit before i discovered the behind the tentecle tactib Btw: Use the eririan stuff on him! because it has unlimited ammo if you play as siren like me but i practally run trough the enemys because i had no good weapons to kill the eridians...
When my brother and I did this the first time I was the soldier and by bro was the hunter. I managed to run and jump up the right tentacle that wraps around the rock and I just kept throwing my turret in its eye. Every shot the turret fired was a critical. lol.
I think that the end boss always seems disappointing, because you're already familiar with game mechanics/techniques, and usually have all the upgrades neccesary to make it like "a walk in the park". I mean, at the end of AC1/AC2 (easiest)/AC3 it pretty much took me a few minutes to finish the last boss. And on Bioshock it was just like "Meh, just a few big daddies and big sisters"

I agree it is a really easy fight... I have watched a lot of your videos and they are great! I recently started playing boarderlands but just a quick tip. When you do beserk on the destroyer i suggest u go to one of his far left or right tentacles.. they wont dmg you or push u back making it the most effective place to beat the shit out of him.. thanks and keep making more videos

I could've sworn he barely hit my health; my shields took all the damage. I finished him off with an Eridian weapon just to get the proficiency up a tad. Hah, her death was amazing. Reminds of Halo a bit, with all the snow, the "key", and a "deadly weapon".

And during the actual final fight I basically unloaded 5 full rounds of smg ammo at its mouth(crits) and it died... so I never really saw any other phase... oh well hope its harder on second play
the easy thing to do is hide behind the pillar until it rewraps it tentacles around those two pillars beside it then run behind the tentacles and he cant see you and just shoot or melee it
I can't believe the official wiki links to this as well being called a walkthrough... All this is is a dumb ass that is doing this for the first time standing in the open.... Your better off going with your instincts than doing what this guy is doing. And the no-scoping to try and look better didn't do anything for me either.
Using a high accuracy combat rifle (with about 110 power), I killed the Destroyer in about two minutes flat with an ammo regeneration class mod (without even deploying my Scorpio) using my stated method.
Depending on your class or who you are playing with, this fight can be anywhere from difficult to extremely easy.
Roland players, or players in a party with a Roland player (multiplayer) may find this to be one of the easiest fights in the game.
Just have the Roland player equip a class mod for ammo regeneration or have the Stockpile (ammo regeneration) ability. The players simply hide behind the two side pillars (the ones the Destroyer latches onto) and fire away, taking no damage.
I haven't fought him with a Soldier, but It's very easy with a Berserker.... I was actually hoping he would put up more of a fight, kind of disappointed.
Hopefully he won't be that easy if I go through the 2nd run. = (

Agreed. With Roland and any sort of ammo regeneration, it's a joke. If you stand behind the pillar, it's near impossible to take any shield damage, let alone health damage.
Stand behind the left pillar that he grabs to "pull" himself out more (it could probably work with the right as well), and just fire away at his tentacles when he's not using his eye beam and it's basically over in a minute or two (on the first playthrough).
the end of the game left me with so many questions...so the guardian angel was really Hyperion corporation the whole time?

I think that the end boss always seems disappointing, because you're already familiar with game mechanics/techniques, and usually have all the upgrades neccesary to make it like "a walk in the park". By the time you get to him on 2nd play through you'll be leveled up to your cap && have some much nicer gear that will make the job alot easier.

easiest way to kill it for a hunter is to use leathal strike after it pulls itself out more i was hitting like 13k on him
