  • This whole business of "whole grains" is just a fad; it makes about as much sense as re-electing Pres. Obama and it's advocated by much the same people.

This is something only left-wingers advocate in their passion to discourage America from buying products by big, corporate food processors; the number of people who refuse to view these junk videos speaks reams about their validity.

  • Will you marry me?

  • Thank you! Been eating quinoa for about 3 weeks now and love it.

  • I like you. Thanks.

  • does cooking the grains destroy the nutrients? would sprouting be better or someother way to eat them raw? maybe ground up into a flower or something. I don't see how cooking would not destroy nutrients and enzymes and what not, curious to hear you response from ur extensive knowledge. thanks

  • I believe that one of the main reasons raw foods are promoted is because proponents feel that "enzymes" are destroyed in the cooking process Actually, enzymes in foods are destroyed in digestion Enzymes R proteins & proteins are broken down in digestion I dont claim to know everyting but from what I have learned, the only "food derived" enzymes which R still "bioavailable" thru out digestion, R bromelain & papayein, hence their popularity as a dietary supplement They R activated by gastric acid

  • why aren`t you making more videos? I would to see more, I really loved eat2live!!

  • "we're done with that" hahaha---i'm a finance major but i'm also a boxer and looking to get into nutrition. a lot of my friends ask me for help with workouts, which i can usually do but i'm not as good about telling them what to eat, any good books you think i could read that would give me a general idea? thanks babe

  • Quinoa is a plant seed related to spinach. Grain are seeds of plants. By far, leafy greens are the best foods but can not always provide optimal energy needs for all people. If you are choosing Whole Grains, then Quinoa rules. See my article in the Santa Monica Daily Press weekend edition May 3rd page 7.

  • Wow someone bought into the whole grain propaganda. One rule I like to live by, if it's advertised heavily on TV, it's bad for you lol.

Read the book "Grain Damage" by Dr. Douglas Graham and you'll see why all grain's are absolutely horrible for you.

  • Raw foods are not IDEAL for everyone, sorry, although I do promote whole, fresh, seasonal, local and organic above all. Do they advertise Quinoa on TV? If people eat grains at least they can make better choices. I am trying to help make it real. I am not a faddist.

  • OK...what the hell? Everything you eat has 100 books out on how good it is for you. Then you always find some shmuck who writes a book saying its the worst food ever! Is there anything I can eat? I'm a Vegan, I already can't eat lots of stuff, just the other day I heard cereals are bad for you....I eat plain bran flakes for crying out loud! Is "Dr" Douglas Graham telling me you SHOULDN'T eat a whole food?

  • I hope you reach a lot o' people who otherwise ignore this kind of info...

  • what is buck wheat?

  • a seed! look it up.

  • quinoa is a fruit berry from south america and is a complete source of protien but is not a grain at all but. you still rock!!!

  • It isn't technically a grain, but because of its nutritional similarity to grains it is often classified that way.

  • buckwheat isn't a grain either!!!

  • I swear I was paying more attention at the start when you had the glasses on

    Your videos are awesome

  • ur hot

  • Does instant brown rice have the same nutrients as the slow cooking kind?

  • Actually there is a huge difference in nutrients. Instant brown rice does not seem to be much better than white rice. Instant BR has only some Niacin & thiamin, two of the most common B vits but the slow cook kind has all the B's except B12 (mainly from animal sources). It even has some Vit E & most importantly, is off the charts for some hard to get minerals like Magnesium, Selenium & Copper. Grains are suppose to be your main source of Magnesium so it is important to get the slow cook BR.

  • Thanks for the information. I liked the video a lot. Didn't know too much about what whole grains were until now.

  • You are welcome. I am happy this was helpful. Thanks for watching!:-)

  • You are amazing: your presentation is perfectly paced, pragmatic, important and fun. Thanks for doing this.

  • Oh, thank you for your compliments. I really appreciate them. BTW: Please view my latest show about Omega-3's It is called Eat2Liv

    Thanks for viewing!

  • ive switched to brown rice because of you :)i also use quinoa with oatmeal now instead of using cinnamon

  • Good job! I am happy you have made these changes. But you should definitely still use cinnamon, many benefits including accenting flavor.

  • i love whole grains myself.plain oatmeal with cinnamon is my favorite!its my main carb source each day

  • Try mixing the oatmeal half and half with Quinoa just because it is a bit more nutrient dense and the only grain that is a complete protein. Brown rice is another favorite of mine, also good mixed with Quinoa.

  • i really tried your exact recipe today, its VERY filling! i usually eat Quinoa with Brown Sugar & butter but need to cut out more fats. Was about to go for seconds but soon realized i needed to give my body time to register more that i was already full!

portion control is very hard for some people like myself. Grains like Quinoa i am discovering are conducive to reprogramming the body to eating the correct amounts of food.

THANK you for sharing! It is extremely satisfying.

  • WOW! Thank you so much for sharing all of your insight. You gleened more than I could ever hope from my presentation. Anytime you can add "water rich" vegetables, fruits & beverages to recipes, you increase the "quantity" without significantly increasing the calories. That "quantity" or "volume" is what fills you up. Great job for experiencing that & for sharing!

  • I really enjoyed this. Coincidentally i just had Quinoa today for the first time as bfast. i like your recipe.

Oatmeal gets slimy and so i think it would be good for newbies to whole grains to jump in as not everyone likes oatmeal because of this.

    good job!

  • love the vidz. great advise.

  • Thank you. You have quite an ecclectic viewing collection. I'm flattered to have you as a fan...KV

  • thank you :-)

  • Congratulations!Good work.

  • Thank you for stopping by. You live in a great place where health is a focus. I appreciate that. My Canadian friends are all very health conscious. Keep up the good work!
