You must understand, in these countries land is passed down from one generation to the next. It is almost impossible to buy land without marring a local. There are also 2 Polynesian islands in the Solomons, Rennell and Balona, these people also migrate to Guadalcanal. The Aussies also "imported" Polynesians from some of the Gilbert islands to end intermarriage. I visited Honiara, Guadalcanal, in 1989. That was before all this nonsense. Paradise is truly lost!
