  • Everybody is using the same samples... it's not that serious.

  • They did the same thing with rhianna's "Umbrella" the drums are just a loop in Logic

  • that flawless jawn is pretty hot. i think the progressions are slightly different. it's the guitar riff and sound that makes them sound alike. my personal opinion

  • I wrote a piano chord progression in the 8th grade and filled it out into a song, posted it on facebook and all that. last year I heard it as an intro to another song on the radio. I know they didn't get on my facebook in listen so it's always possible that two different people can think up the same progression.

  • @MrBrandonPeoples

1950's doo wop hits almost exclusively had the same 4 chord progression

  • It' hard to sue based on an harmonic progression and a riff. Remember coldplay and viva la vida....

  • You can't copyright a chord and a rhythm. Only melodies and lyrics

  • You can't copyright a chord and a rhythm. Only melodies.

  • You'll have to get in line behind Shondrae Crawford and others who haven't even been paid for direct use of beats they made for projects... in your example I think it might be a bit of a stretch.. but who knows.. I enjoy your videos though bruh.. lots of good stuff... on a side note.. lil wayne needs to stop trying to be Andre 3000 the wack version.. pz

  • yo, ur the man on reason, i must admit, but at the end of the day, it does matter what sample it is, we're gonna get jacked. if that was the case, how bout the drums that we use from stock sounds?. do u have an email where i can send u stuff an get ur critique?

  • Thats funny i thought wayne stole my cuzns beat [FINN-I'M THE ONE] and theres covers of people singn his song way before wayne song [how to love] came out!!!!??

  • @TodaysbeatsTV check out beat maker

  • @TodaybeatsTV whats up man, just letting you know if you already didn't, but theres an app called BeatMaker 2 and I've been using it for quite awhile on my ipod touch and just recently it was released for the ipad and I downloaded it to mine and its brilliant. So check it out, right now I;m even liking it more than FL studio Mobile

  • I don't know Tee? Very similar though.... I wouldn't spend a lot of money pursuing it though.

  • Nice catch Tee! I'm crackin' up!

  • I can't stand that lil wayne character lol. Anyways, I love how you funkdafied it, especially with that basic square that had a hint of that "Fall In Love" melody.

  • I can't stand that lil wayne character lol. Anyways, I love how you fundafied it, especially with that basic square that had a hint of that "Fall In Love" melody.

  • love it yo

  • You're joking, right? I mean, all the chord progressions have been used ages ago. I someone, it would be Beethoven, Mozart and the gang who should sue.

  • No lawsuit. The changes are different. It's a common POP song with changes. Everything sounds alike in the music world. This says that we need actual musicians and not just beat makers.

  • you a fool with it big homie. lol

  • sounds similar yes...but if it's a sample anyway it may not be worth pursuing.

  • nada

  • I mean the chord progression isn't even the same. With that said wow those samples are nice.

  • This guy needs to EQ his voice and raise the bass in his voice lmao

  • In my research, you can play a phrase just like a phrase as appose to sampling and its perfectly legal. On another note how did you get Reason 6 to open up. It keeps asking me for a disk.

  • @mysterythegod Install the Reason sound files in your hard drive... it should stop asking afterwards

  • The chord progression is similiar in some aspects but uniquely different in others.

Many chord progressions are similiar but what really matters is the lyrical melody and the other musical melodies that accompany the song. It is not uncommon for individuals to be inspired in some way by an interesting chord progression.

  • SO is reason 6 goin to give you the full screen this time or just the hallf screen

  • none tizzle

  • nah, you don't have a case, sir. especially since i could have done both songs in garageband by mistake...

  • AWESOME!!!

  • No Boy, can't sue

  • I know I cant sue over progressions, but it's the idea, we believe the concept has been swagger jacked....

  • @TodaysbeatsTV Bro I think those are two different productions. The only simliarity is the guitar sample but like you say, that's just a stock sound. Your track is hot though.

  • @TodaysbeatsTV Yo T ... I've been riding with you since 2004/5 man - you got straight jacked son. Not sure how far a copyright lawsuit would make it, but I would look into it.

Peace - keep up the good work hommie.

    Phil

  • That's gonna be a hard one to pursue. It may be real expensive to go at them on that.

  • You can't sue for that. . It's just a chord progression, sound similar but it sounded like 1 chord was different. Anyway, you can't sue because of a progression. . You have a "limited" amount of chords, you are bound to use the same chords and progressions as someone else.

  • Nice! I like the part about if your material is used without permission, you have to be creative enough to produce new idea. Don't follow the trend just because the radio/T.V. tells you what's hot. Make that determination for yourself. Produce what you feel in your soul.

  • u cant sue over chords people lol

  • Comment removed

  • i never ever thought to use stock sounds in reason but whoah hold up, damn and i thought someone actually played the progression

  • nah not the same at all

  • funk the dumb shit fam!,

that paul hill joint is still SSSSsick!

  • Naw no lawsuit only the first chord sounds similar..

  • You can't copyright a progression.

  • @TheWealthsolutions Yes u can. If you wrote the music notes, made the arrangement and submitted everything to ascap, bmi or sesac once it is copyrighted it's yours and no one can do shit with unless they get your permission and of course u get paid. That is the wonder of knowing how to do your stuff before post it on the internet.

  • @marv4976 You can only copyright melody and lyrics. This progression has probably been used millions of times. You actually have to register your works with the u.s.copyright office for it to be copyrighted.

  • Cool men :)

  • You cant if its a sample from reason cos i think they are not copyright so any1 can use them in there own way. That's why i try to say away from samples sometimes!

  • Oh HELL NA Tee you gotta go after their azz, they don't wanna pay anyone anyway and someone needs to put a stop to their bullshit!!!

  • No lawsuit!

  • Sue the shizzle out of his ass!!

  • There is no lawsuit there, I suggest you don't pursue it.

  • I would say you probably got sampled, BUT knowing how Cash Money and Yung money dont pay their producers.. Maybe you got jacked.

Im going with the second option!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You are doing the damn thing...

  • 1st ?
