We had it demoed at the shoo I worked at. It didn't seem to fit how we do things. Put on the other hand we agreed that if we had hail dents to fix ut would be great for that.
@rocsvt1 It can be applied over metal, but the area must still be primed after sanding. Thanks for watching. Check out some of my other guides at Amazon. Visit CollisionBlast(dot)com/AmazonBooks
when filling application should be carried out in both directions to avoid build up in one place more than the other. Good looking product mind you everything 3M do is lol. One last thing i would not press so hard with my first fill hey ho
i sanded my car down were i had a big dent used my drill and some screws how can i cover the holes?do i fiberglass it then use bondo or putty?and to shape itt wat sanding grit number do i use?
@ChevyGangman323 Here is the ways I would fill the holes starting with the best choice. 1) MIG Weld, Fiberglass Filler, Body Filler, Putty if needed. 2) Solder, Body Filler, Putty if needed. 3)Fiberglass filler, Body filler, putty if needed. I shape body filler with 36 grit followed with 80 grit and then 150 grit. Prime and block with 320 and finish sanded with 500 grit before painting.
Depending on the brand, the cost will vary. 3M now makes it in a squeeze container and so does Evercoat. I believe the cost is in the 30's.. You may check CollisionBlast(dot)KustomPaint for prices. Thanks for watching!
@takethehitgee Thanks for watching. We got some disposable plastic wheel covers that would have worked great for this.....Next Time! Thanks for watching!
@MrNjm1640 You can, the primer surfacer we use cover 150 well, but taking it to 220 is not going to hurt anything. It may take less time block sanding your primer.
Things sure have changed.. When I was in your line of work , we used red spot and glaze putty, then wet sanded it. Looks like it was simpler, faster, and I'll bet a bunch less expensive the way we used to do it.....
This gun sucks, we tested it out in our shop only to find out that to get the hardner mixed in you have to waste half of a 200 dollar tube, and by the time your ready to spread the shit is dried up on the damn board, I recommened going out and buying a descend gallon of filler, a couple tubes of hardner and learn to do the damn thing yourself.
@5698411 The first filler they came out with had that problem. However, the corrected the problem. It mixes fast with very little waste now. I think the first batch had a problem with the harder getting mixed in. If you've already purchased the gun I recommend that you buy another tube and give it another try.
i would love to get my hands on that mixing gun! how i do it is with a can of filler and a tube of hardener haha thats so cool how it mixes it together like it would with plastic fillers. never seen anything like that
@BLOCKPOETRY Actually, the 3M system does not seem to waste too much. I think that is save material, as there is nothing left on the board from over mixing. I really like using it. However, like with anything, it depends on the user. Some of my students love it and others prefer the traditional method. I give it a good rating!
