good vid man, and BIG props for calling all Shitdog, guys on there are dumb as hell, but no way was Varner faking, that knee clipped him right on the temple....but even if that had not had happened, Varner was still winning the fight on my score card
Oh, I'm a big Varner fan, still am, but he was definitely faking. Otherwise why apologize repeatedly for being incapacitated by an illegal shot, as well as mention his hand was broken? He basically made a confession without expressly making one. I like his personality, confidence, competitiveness, and well rounded game. But he has to start valuing winning out of the ring as much as in it. If he does that he could be the best 155-pounder in the world and need not resort to gamesmanship.
I guess you can only go by what you think you saw from Varner. To me, something looked seriously wrong with the dude, something that would be difficult to fake. If he was indeed faking, give that man an Oscar....or at least a daytime Emmy. Cerrone is a tough dude though, and Varner needs to work on his cardio for sure.
As he was walking down the aisle before the fight, I thought there was something wrong with him. He looked half asleep, an indication he was drained from cutting weight. I have no knowledge of that occurring, but like you said, you can only go by what you see. Therefore it wouldn't be acting to look disoriented at the end of the fight, it was just occurring for a different reason than getting hit in the head. Probabilities are he feels better going in and will crush Cerrone in the rematch.
Good Review Sean. As you said the reason it became an illegal shot, was because Varner's weight was transitioning to the mat, b/c he was trying for a TD. Cerrone I understand may have thought for that split second, well his knees won't touch, throw it, but if you are in doubt, or It looks like the guy is going to transition his weight forward, you don't throw it. Sucks the fight ended this way, hopefully they will fight again. Great fight none the less. Affliction was awesome.
Did you see the Cerrone/Varner fight? Match of The Year!
Varner needed a reason to stop the fight cause he couldn't finish Cerrone. I was impressed with the cowboys chin, he took some mad shot and still lasted 5 rounds. WATCH IT!
Anyone who watched the Affliction event was slapped in the face by the most embarrassingly uncomfortable announcing imaginable. Tito sounded like a little kid playing grown-up, trying to use big adult words, tripping over his tongue repeatedly, and mispronouncing fighters names, and random words . He is.....without any fear of contradiction.....the single worst commentator in the history of MMA.
The announcing was pretty bad. It's only Affliction's 2nd show, so they're allowed to have some blunders. The in ring interviews after the fights, Tito displayed some of the worst useage of the english language I've ever seen....besides most Youtube users.
