  • Just for the record, Noel Fielding makes a better Kate Bush than Kate Bush.

  • Director: 'Seriously what are we doing here'

    Kate: 'Oh just start recording!!'

  • I USED TO BE HER. I WAS HER.

SHE WAS ME. WE WERE ONE.

    THEN HE DESTROYED US!!!!!

    HAIL JESUS!!!!!!!!

  • Kate Bush. Siouxsie. Alison Moyet.

There were great 80's female singers.

And Madonna wasn't one of them.

  • Song, singing, dance and dancing - all mediocre. Yawn.

  • @bmarlin611 Yeah, i yawn when i hear all the american crap bands now. Kate Bush is better than a lot of the crap bands around. e.g Lady Gaga.

  • Lady Gaga was more tamed before as you can see from this video.

  • muy bueno los dos videos.

  • Simply one of the best artists to ever surface the wretched planet. Kate Bush you make the world a better place.

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Get in through my window, woman ;)

  • This song is about extremely cruel people. Think backstabby love trian.. polygons.

Yet its romantic. Oh so very, obsessively, give your soul to your destined love, romantic.

  • There was a singer in Brazil in the early eighties that sounded a lot like Kate Bush, but she wasn't in anyways derivative. Look it up on youtube for Tetê Espíndola.

Here's one of my favorites: Tetê Espíndola canta "Cio da Terra"

  • Woo hoo

  • Groovy!

  • respect!

  • Genius

  • One of the most romantic songs ever.Even if the artist didn't make it through commercial & pop music ita is still the first to think of..Kate g blessed voice.

  • i love so much kate <3

  • In this ever changing world, it is only her dancing which makes sense.

  • interesting voice..

  • Still more manly than Justin Bieber

  • @Scathedra Not that hard to do really. The gayest man on earth is still more manly than JB.

  • @Decrosiana Are we dashing JB again? The kid doesnt have anything to do with this song, leave him alone come on..

  • that leg lift is epic.

  • I can see this song 2.000 years from now and still making new fans.

  • q vozzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • i've just realized that life is beautiful:D

  • This song creeps me out.

  • fuck yeah RAGE

  • my cat, mr. nibbles, has the red dress and all the dance moves down, but can't sing to save his life!

  • My older sister used to be obsessed with this song, when she plugged her ipod into the computer it said that wuthering heights: 1431 plays.

  • I love you, Kate...

  • One of Alan Partridge's favourite songs.

  • it's me on caffeine, i've come home now

  • I still want to know how this song made it to #1 in so many countries. It's an interesting case-study. Anyone have the answers? Baby boomers? Gen X?

  • @GeistFright Because Kate's look just screams "Do Me".

  • @BHShaman I guess that's one factor...

  • @GeistFright what would those things have to do with this song reaching number one in any way?

  • @zzenexx ...when you say "those things," what are you referring to?

  • @GeistFright "Baby boomers? Gen X?"

this song became number one in so many countries because its a great song, not because of what generation people were born in.

  • @zzenexx Oh, you kinda misunderstood me. This song reached no. 1 in 1978 -- when the baby boomers and Gen Xs were alive. I was just inviting those generations for opinions/insights as to how the song reached no. 1...seeing they could provide a first-hand account. I'm Gen Y, so I don't really know. Of course, I could read about all the hows and whys in Wiki or a text book...but it wouldn't be the same.

PS: I know age has nothin' to do with it.

  • @GeistFright First off, you said when they WERE alive, most of us are still alive and kicking, it was'nt THAT long ago, kiddo. lol.

Waaay back when it was released people were polarised, a song like this was quite

different to a lot of commercial pop shite, Leif Garret,Shaun Cassidy and the disco cringe.I think a lot of her success came from her STUNNING looks and somewhat haunting sexuallity (I was about 16 at the time) and she got my vote.

Two guys out of Pink floyd discovered her.

  • @MrTarryhoot

"you said when they WERE alive..."

Well...you know what I mean. I was sleepy.

I youtubed Leif Garrett + Shaun Cassidy.

I guess our equivalent would be Justin Bieber.

    *epiphany

  • @GeistFright Sorry for the spam! YouTube kept telling me it didn't send through. :/

  • @GeistFright When the song was released , most people thought it was some joke , the strange thing after several listens for an average person , it became almost addict able but additionally it had an almost surreal aura ,and the melody line in parts is atonal , something that Schoenberg would have admired especially as it was intended for a mas market market . This prodigious young girl was creating an alternative world of soundsscapes outside Punk ,& nihilism .She is iconic.

  • @TheWoodlandWitch55 I see. I just find it really interesting how someone as unique as her could top the charts in not only her home country but overseas -- before the age of Twitter, MySpace, YouTube. I'd definitely like a time machine just to go back and see/feel/hear how it all happened.

  • @GeistFright Her fame spread through radio, television, here in Australia we had a show called Countdown,in England it was Top of the Pops, she had very little success in America, they didnt "get" her because american pop at the time was very formulaic and predictable.

You sound like you were born in the wrong era.You are where you are, in thirty years time you'll look back nostalgically at the way the world was in 2012.

    Enjoy the ride, dude.

  • TUPAC-RESURRECTION BROUGHT ME HERE !

  • i love her, what a fruitcake.

  • How may it be so awkward and awesome at the same time? LOL

  • this song m,akes me piss myself

  • Noel Fielding sent me here...

  • does anybody know where she dances in the video!

  • 2012 in this is my favorite song

  • If one piece of art lives on for hundreds of years for generations to see, I hope it's this.

  • haunting...just as it was when i was seven and saw this..........the song is just so powerfull and honest

  • I think I have contributed to over half of these views...

  • I didn't like this the first time I heard it, but it's starting to grow on me...

  • OMG! WTF!

  • Mildly bonkers but very likeable.

  • @3:18 ..... alien; "WE COME IN PEACE"

  • Comment removed

  • love the song.

  • Kate Bush MA-RA-VI-LHO-SA!!!!!!!

  • First, she's excellent. This mournful song captures the brutality, despair and violence of that magnificent novel, Wuthering Heights, one of the greatest gems of all literatures. She sounds like the lost and longing ghost, Cathy, that she's meant to be. The under-educated will never understand why this song is so meaningful, clever and quite wonderful.

  • @MultiPurdy The book was genius, this song is nothing special. You are under-educated in music I assure you.

  • another Selena Gomez wannabe...

  • Whe I first went to watch this, I was presented with a near 3 minute advert!

  • Noel definitely dressed as Kate in this version but did more of the moves from the original (Y)

  • @BupkinHead1996 I have to interrupt your interest in people who are deserve this much attention but the band Van Der Graaf Generator is a GENIUS band that was shoved aside in their era and I found them. I am upset that people who are not in their league are more well-known.

  • @peoniesfleur this was an amazingly random reply....but I will look these people up. :L

  • @BupkinHead1996 We need to start supporting big time geniuses....

and stop giving recognition to the least of these...

  • @peoniesfleur Judging by the amount of comments on here by you ,castigating an established Artist , I have an impression you are somewhat obsessive about the woman .Also the amount of your comments that have been deemed as spam must be disconcerting for you Hun . Don't like the women ? Think that your better than her ? Fine !! Just take your misery elsewhere and stop using Kate as an excuse to promote yourself and other unknown artists as a vehicle for attention seeking .

  • @TheWoodlandWitch55 I don't think that kate Bush is the genius they are saying that she is or that talented. I have two of her albums and I don't think it is on that high of a level. I don't care if she is established. I love Van Der Graaf Generator....

Lady Gaga is estabilshed...and so is Justin Bieber...does that mean I need to love their music and think that they are geniuses?

  • @TheWoodlandWitch55 I want to promote genius musicians....genius belongs in this industry..the higheest level of talent...Van Der Graaf Generator is much more talented than Pink Floyd..even though Floyd had one good song. These people are so over-rated. Peter Gabriel sucks...I am here to tell that this industry is crap.

  • @TheWoodlandWitch55 People should be attention who are real talent...You know nothing about art ....Van Der Graaf Generator...and I don't think kate bush or peter gabriel are talented ....

  • @TheWoodlandWitch55 genius needs to dominate the music industry....Pink floyd sucks...they had one good song...Kate bush doesn't have any good songs but good arrangers...Peter Gabriel sucks....

Gentle Giant doesn't suck, Renaissance doesn't suck and either does Van Der Graaf Generator who is the mega genius band of that era...That industry is way below par...

  • @TheWoodlandWitch55 I should be seeking attention since I have talent and kate bush doesn't have one good song...

Also Van Der Graaf Generator is phenomenal and they are much more talented than Pink Floyd and Genesis..I want to promote real talent.

  • @peoniesfleur Oh my god SHUT THE FUCK UP, you over-opinionated cunt.

  • @razzamattazz Looking for attention from real artists loser? Hoping that I may give you some attention since you are a talentless, jealous nutcase?

  • Comment removed

  • she reminds me of katey sagal.

  • She reminds me of The Evil Dead where the woman kept chanting "We're going to get you, haaa haa haaa"

  • I"m a man , and i crying((...

  • @novac0844 You are not alone Brother. I shed some manly tears too! Anyway, greetings from Greece.

  • How can 680 people dislike this?

Are you fucking crazy, you must be

  • and how come i can't find this in the rolling stones all time top 500 singles list?

  • hope she has fixed the teeth color issues by now

  • i was born in 1973, i love kate bush, there will never be anyone close to her, music today is lame, copying old songs.

  • damn it. now i gotta read that novel...

  • she has the best dance moves...

  • Я мужик ... и я плачу((...

  • Kate up for a Brit award 2012 [Don't think she gives a shit] up against Florence &machine , Adele , and others I've never heard of . I would laugh hysterically if she won and appeared in person to collect it !! :)

  • @TheWoodlandWitch55 tell me about it!!!! lol

  • oh dear!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol if you watch it with the sound off it kinda looks like the American 1960s counterculture got to Britain ten years too late. XD

  • 3:18 that bit freaks me out, just not a natural movement at all haha

  • Reading the novel with my English class at the minute and I'm in love with both this song and the story. I fully intend to show them this. :D

  • It's so terrible its brilliant.

  • @missysummertime Pretty much! xD

  • The voice and the arrangement. Pure genius.
