Oh PLEASE!!!!!! The big factor this dude is omitting is the DEPRECIATION FACTOR! If you plan on owning this car until the wheel fall off then depreciation is irrelevent but if you trade in your wheels every 5 or 6 years then it means EVERYTHING. Hyundais are decent cars but they are plagued with significantly depreciation which will realize later. Not now, but definately later.
Korean Automobiles are improving significantly.. It's the perception. Get your head out of your bottom and look around. The Koreans improved in such a short period of time. Kia and Hyundai, the way forward.
That´s weird. Here in Estonia the most expensive model is priced at 25 000 euros. That´s around 21 000 pounds. Four thousand is a big difference though. Ship cars from here :D

I think it's WAY better looking than the Skoda or Mondeo, and I find the interior more attractive as well, also it's a bit nimbler to drive imo, feels lighter...

The funny thing is, in North America we joke about Fiats, and in Europe they joke about Hyundais. Hyundai is certainly stepping up their game, when they first came out their cars looked to similar to Hondas visual wise, but their current cars are certainly much better. Genesis Coupe for example. This really does sound like a very biased review. They criticise the car for being a good all rounder and not achieving one thing brilliantly, but isnt the fact that the Mondeo is such a good all rounder the reason they all love the thing to bits???

They download 700mb of movies within about 20 sec. And they have the giant company like Samsung, LG etc. One missing, the conclusion is we need to pronounciate hyundai as "HYEON DE or DAE" like when we say "daewoo" company, this "dae" sound in english. not hyoon, hun, haiyoon, die, or dai. Without knowledge of the most unique country without mixing over 3000yrs of the world can't be understandable for english society. They've been Corea, not Korea that fabricated by Japanese, too since 19C.

Sometimes I hate the way reviewers are so vague in their description of a car. He said that this car misses out on a Skoda's "ambience and precision". What the hell does that mean? It could mean anything.
@IchiDeux - For some reason Hyundai instructs Britons to pronounce it "hy-YUN-dye" while they instruct North Americans to pronounce it "HUN-day." Why the two different pronunciations despite being the same language, I'l never know. Toyota does something similar with the Prius. In the UK they market it as the "PRY-us" instead of the North American PREE-us. Again, Lord knows why except maybe to foment confusion.

the reason you see lots of hyundai is because they are trying to sell as quick as possible before japan gets back on their feet. it's true they have redesign they car inside and out much better than before, heck they even make luxury cars eg. equus which i can only say overprice. but as soon as your warranty expire so too will your engine.
my mom has a ford and my dad has a passat so i understand where he's coming from based on the modeo and superb's quality, but you have to give hyundai/kia a good pat on the back because this car is worlds away based on looks, dynamics, and technology from the shit boxes that used to come out of korea

Just like the Japanese have been trying to match the Germans. The Koreans are now trying to match the Japanese. I see history repeating it self, but just like toyota, and honda, they will always be a step behind. From my point of view, that is.
@pelepihuamo hyundai is not a step behind. hyundai is the biggest asian automaker in europe and is growing very quickly in the united states. hyundai is also doing much better in design and tech than the japanese. look at japanese cars in the U.S. and they all look dated. They are also slow to introduce new technology. For example honda is still using 5 speed automatics while hyundai's whole lineup has six speeds. hyundai has also developed their own 8 speed transmission in house.
You might be right, Hyundai is stealing customers from Toyota, Honda, and Nissan left and right, but it is not very likely to see a German car buyer to cross shop Asian brands, besides they are kind of pricey too. I remember the Hyundai Excel, Kia Sephia, and Sportage, they were all under $15,000. now they are all almost over 30 grand, and for those prices I'll take a, 2 or 3 year old German car.
Few hundred pounds different why not get the skoda? At least it uses vw parts. Don't get me wrong I do like the i40 but the price disappoints me wasn't aggressive enough

people are just being biased against the brand. British people make a point against Hyundai because all they're used to are Vauxhall's, Mondeo's and German cars. @daizmiester Yeah that would be a good point if it wasn't total shit. My mother and my sister both have Hyundai's, they've become much more popular in the last few years as the quality has improved. I drove the ix35 as a rental car. Just a very nice car, nothing against it.

The funny thing is, in North America we joke about Fiats, and in Europe they joke about Hyundais. Hyundai is certainly stepping up their game, when they first came out their cars looked to similar to Hondas visual wise, but their current cars are certainly much better. Genesis Coupe for example. And they have the giant company like Samsung, LG etc. One missing, the conclusion is we need to pronounciate hyundai as "HYEON DE or DAE" like when we say "daewoo" company, this "dae" sound in english. not hyoon, hun, haiyoon, die, or dai. @IchiDeux - For some reason Hyundai instructs Britons to pronounce it "hy-YUN-dye" while they instruct North Americans to pronounce it "HUN-day." Why the two different pronunciations despite being the same language, I'l never know. Toyota does something similar with the Prius. In the UK they market it as the "PRY-us" instead of the North American PREE-us. Again, Lord knows why except maybe to foment confusion.
I'd be interested to know how they pronounce "Hyundai" in Korea.

the reason you see lots of hyundai is because they are trying to sell as quick as possible before japan gets back on their feet. it's true they have redesign they car inside and out much better than before, heck they even make luxury cars eg. equus which i can only say overprice. but as soon as your warranty expire so too will your engine.

how is this not biased against hyundai. the guy said hyundai has better interior materials and more space than the mondeo and said that the hyundai drives decently. besides that hyundai is less expensive, has a longer warranty, and is more loaded than the competition. so i don't understand the conclusion that hyundai is not "up" there with the competition.

@pelepihuamo hyundai is not a step behind. hyundai is the biggest asian automaker in europe and is growing very quickly in the united states. hyundai is also doing much better in design and tech than the japanese. look at japanese cars in the U.S. and they all look dated. They are also slow to introduce new technology. For example honda is still using 5 speed automatics while hyundai's whole lineup has six speeds. hyundai has also developed their own 8 speed transmission in house.

You might be right, Hyundai is stealing customers from Toyota, Honda, and Nissan left and right, but it is not very likely to see a German car buyer to cross shop Asian brands, besides they are kind of pricey too. I remember the Hyundai Excel, Kia Sephia, and Sportage, they were all under $15,000. now they are all almost over 30 grand, and for those prices I'll take a, 2 or 3 year old German car.

The reason they weren't so desirable in the past is because the cars used to be a bit shit, end of. Here he says the Skoda is better. 20 years ago Skoda was a joke brand so clearly attitudes change as the quality of the cars improve.
