  • If someone could write out a tab for this, or at least a basic chord progression I would be EXTREMELY greatful.

  • god damnit

  • My god, fucking amazing song.

These lyrics remind me of my GF, I was once really pessimistic and withdrawn, but she helped me be more open. But her situation is a bitch, so we can't see each other anymore.

  • I like pie.

  • @mothbits we all know that if you did you would not be here but rather you would be out eating pie

so quit saying stuff that is false

  • @lovebattery100 Eating hair pie.. to this song.

  • @mothbits yum!

  • Thank you Kurt Cobain, for everything; for your music, or sticking up for what you believe in, and for showing me what real music is. If it wasn't for you, I'd probably be listening to kanye west right now... it's just too bad you weren't here longer.

  • @stupidvideos21 kanye isn't even that bad. haha. i don't listen to him but he's not horrible or anything. but yeah, thanks to kurt for sure. wipers rule!

  • Saw them in '84 in a club I was way too young to be at...I hung out with Greg and the guys at the Metropolis. What a super nice guy! Big influence on me. I'll always remember it.

  • rebelthoughts me to kurt introduced me to lots of great bands and there's not one band that he liked i dislike i love them all but this band is my favorite out of any

  • greg sage is a genius for such great songs and this for its great guitar solo and lyrics

  • You have the URL wrong. Its Zenorecords . com

    u missed the d

  • @spaceorbison

    ok, thank you

  • I wasn't so sure about this band, but when I heard Doom Town and this song. God what a heart break. I love it!!

  • Greg Sage is amazing! This solo really shows how amazingly talented he is.

  • 'The Herd' is great for it's moodiness.

'Power In One' is great for the strength of the songs.

Greg Sage continues to impress and inspire. What a sweet American nugget he is.

  • the herd is such an underrated wipers album its got this mood unlike anything i have heard !

  • if i had to choose the herd is probably my favorite... but you know i love them all!

  • I love pretty much every Wipers song to death. But I find this one doesn't sound like any other song they've ever done. This is amazing.

  • Greg is in Phoenix these days. Check his web sight.

  • Greatest band ever. Great song, too.

  • this song reminds me of my ex gf : ( , bad ass song, greg sage still remains an unknown legend.

  • I love this band! I think they're one of the most underrated!

  • Just as a shout out, You can order some of their records from their official web site. Google The Wipers and it should be the first site to pop up.

  • thanks

  • I gotta thank Kurt Cobain for this! I discovered The Wipers through him and now i'm obsessed with this band! They have so many amazing songs!

  • haha, me too. ive found alot of bands through kurt cobain and nirvana

  • @RebelThoughts hey same here. I love the album Land of the Lost. Its like a new nevermind for me.

  • @RebelThoughts

    because your all sheep.

    follow your leader.

  • @IDanClarkI

    *you're

    Or are apostrophes too conformist?

  • @IDanClarkI no bitch. because he actually likes the wipers. way to make something negative out of a positive comment you shitstain.

  • @IDanClarkI you're calling everyone else sheep and to follow their leader when you're playing a fender jaguar guitar and covering a nirvana song! haha. on the irony. dumb kid.

  • @andrewmacmillan

hey man, i see his point and hes right.

anyone thats here because of nirvana is here for the wrong reason.

just because he covers a nirvana song doesnt make him a dumb kid, he has his own musical interests that happen to include them.

so before you go and call everyone dumb, look at yourself

  • @stupidbuttheads no, he's not right. if you're here for nirvana you're here for the wrong reasons?? are you fucked? so when kurt heard of leadbelly through william burroughs, punk rock music through buzz osbourne, the beatles through his aunt, etc, he got into it for the "wrong reasons"? how very shallow of you to think about music that way. nirvana gave the wipers some well deserved exposure. that's a positive thing, not negative.

  • @roejogan8

first off man, did i say it was a bad thing?

second of all i agree with andrew macmillan ^ up there somewhere

99% are here because of nirvana. and its shameful that people watch just because of nirvana and the people that wanna be like kurt

so how dare you call me shallow when your the one obsessing over kurt cobain. i find it shameful that you learned that much about kurt already :/

so you can hardly call me or dan shallow

just because he has his own opinions, so do I.

  • @stupidbuttheads

When you idolize someone such as Kurt Cobain, you want to find out a lot from his life. It's not shameful at all if people listen to The Wipers because Cobain exposed them, Big deal. So are you calling me and thousands of others shallow because we idolize and cherish a great artist?

  • @tubbythug92

    yes.

    now leave the kid alone,

everyone has an opinion, its called freedom of speech.

  • @stupidbuttheads

It's not an opinion unless you can back it up with facts. That's simply what i'm doing. Unlike you, that thinks people are shallow for looking up to someone.

  • @tubbythug92

    thats like saying

    'i like joy division'

    ' i dont, i think theyre shit'

you dont need to prove your opinion its stupid. you dont describe why theyre shit, all you need to know is you dont like them.

then again your proberly some under educated american.

  • @stupidbuttheads

That has nothing to do with this argument..you're the one that is ignorant. Saying I'm a under educated "american" is also ignorant. Good job. Now further more, I didn't say you shouldn't not like the band, but simply don't insult the people that looks up to him.

  • @tubbythug92

so whats your problem with the kid then?

you just said you can like them if you want to? so just cuz he had an opinion about people that are obsessed with KC and hang on his every word means he shouldnt listen?

    your messed up man

  • @stupidbuttheads

"Whats your problem with the kid then?" ...what?? You're saying i'm messed up, but you don't even know what you are talking about..Do you even know what you're defending for or what you're trying to prove out of being a complete moron?

  • Comment removed

  • @stupidbuttheads it's shameful that people watch cause of nirvana? no, it's fucking beautiful. 1 of nirvana's, maybe even their main mission, was to turn people on to good music and to expose bands like the wipers to folks who wouldn't of had the good fortune to know or hear about them otherwise. how many other rock bands promoted and name dropped great music like nirvana did? not many. if you check out a band name dropped by kurt that does not mean you want to be like kurt. that's ridiculous.

  • @roejogan8 exactly man. good job.

  • @stupidbuttheads and the ironic thing is the kid is playing the same guitar as kurt and covering a nirvana song, yet insulting people for veiwing this video for the same reason he is. how hypocritical and foolish! you are shallow. i'll call you it again. so it's obsessing over someone to read their interviews? it's "shameful" to want to know more and be interested in a band you love? learning about things that interest u is never shameful. i make no apologies for possessing knowledge.

  • @stupidbuttheads @stupidbuttheads that guy isn't saying he's a dumb kid for playing a nirvana song on guitar, he's calling him a hypocrite for calling people sheep when he's playing a FENDER JAGUAR and covering a nirvana song in the exact same style and way as kurt. then he denies the fact that he plays one cause of kurt! nice frusicante excuse too. he RARELY uses one. that's not his main axe. kurt is known for using jaguars. just because we like the wipers doesn't mean we're sheep either.

  • @stupidbuttheads i like the band can because i heard johnny rotten mention them in an interview and took a listen. does that make me a sheep? fuck no. he mentioned a band, i checked them out, and i liked it a lot. big fucking deal!!

  • @stupidbuttheads i didn't call everyone dumb, i called him dumb. let's not bullshit here, 99 percent of us are here because nirvana covered 2 of thier songs and the more curious of us were wondering more about them. besides, i've been listening to the wipers for YEARS now. i'm a genuine fan, so it pisses me off to be called a sheep by a kid when i've been listening to the wipers longer than he's been listening to nirvana!! when it comes down to it, i listen to the wipers cause i love their music

  • @andrewmacmillan

    i agree with you

i meant people who were here becaue of nirvana were here for the wrong reasons, genuine wipers fans should be the only ones really watching, and by the way, cant really help my age can i?

  • @stupidbuttheads nice 3 doors down vid ya got favorited btw. lol.

  • @andrewmacmillan

so because i have a jag from BEFORE I HEARD ABOUT NIRVANA that makes me one of you?

yeah, john frusicante has loads to do with nirvana (Y)

  • @IDanClarkI you are a liar. you know damn well why you have a jaguar. and there's nothing wrong with that actually, i'm just showing you what an immature, shallow dick you're being. you seem insecure about being a sheep yourself that it makes u feel better to call other people it. you think you're so cool huh? why are YOU viewing this video then? lemmie guess, you heard of this band through someone other than nirvana, right? gimmie a break. you're not as cool as you think, mr. judgemental.

  • @IDanClarkI ps- john is a fan of nirvana.

  • yeaah Wipers are so very awesome! too bad i was only born when they already split up... what is Mr Sage up to now?

  • He's retired, as far as I know. The Wipers are defunct since about 1999. Nothing since then but re-issues. I have a feeling he'll be back...

  • AWESOME~!

  • un-fucking-believable

  • epic and timeless. that`s why i like the wipers.

  • Oh shit, I had never heard this song til now and it blows me away! Thanks for uploading this. Now I gotta find the records......and I'll probably fail. :/

  • this band is fuckin awesome

  • man i want this album SOOOOOO badly

  • This song is so good but very underrated

  • i don't think its really underrated but rather unnoticed

  • thanks drjekyllandmrjackass i've been looking for these chords for ages i had figured most of them out except a few

  • 0:58

  • Nice work! I was alive in the mid-90s, how the fuck did this cool band pass me by?

  • don't know the period of time but who cares this is some swell jams from a fine band.

  • this is mid seventies into the early ninties

  • good job

  • Wow, thanks to you I just discovered this amazing band.

Once I have a few bucks Im going to grab their box set.

    Thanks agaon. Cheers.

  • Oops just realised the verse should actually go: C Am C Am F Em Dm G F Am and some hammer on/pull offs on the Am (B string) and Dm (top E string).

  • Love this song so much. Hate that you can't find many wipers tabs so for all you guitar players stick some distortion on: C Am C Am F Em Dm F Em Am. Then the chorus just goes around F Em Dm, and hit G instead of Dm for the lyric "sinking as a stone" sounds pretty sweet!

  • good song!

  • I wish this craft could swim

All I ever get is the same old thing

She said you are a soulmate

    Living as a stowaway

    Sinking as a stone

    Feeling that you've thrown away (X 2)

  • Lyrics from the album's inside (CD version, if it matters)

What did I have at stake

why did I have to wake

She said you are a soulmate

Why did this raft go stray

All I know is she said to me

She said you are a soulmate

But you're never gonna settle down

  • Thank you very much for the lyrics mate!!!

  • dont compare this band...its to good to be compared...take it for what it is/.//retards like you label or compare to much

  • Man if you got the lyric of this song will be great show us it. or tell us what is the album on this song.

  • Unfortunately I don't speak english very well, u have to ask to some english/speaking user.

The album is in the info box, is "The Herd", published in 1996

  • @Dimension640 where are you from? I find it interesting that someone who doesn't speak English is listening to this.

  • @spaceorbison

actually all the rest of the world doesen't speak english or can't understand the lyrics of the song they use to hear

cause from the fifties anglophonic music ruled the whole music industry

even in underground music such as punk .

THAT'S THE RESULT OF WINNIG A WAR.

  • Beautiful song... fuck yea...

  • very beatle esque...great song

  • Only an excuse for enable someone to listen to this song.
