I know this has been said over and over, but for Windows 7 users just right click, select properties and then click compatibility and then tick the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for:".After that select Windows 2000 and click apply, then run as administrator. thumbs up so everyone can see and best of luck to everyone! I tried compatibility for Xp service pack 2 but it didn't work for me :/ but I messed around with the other xp compatibility choices and xp 2000 worked for me :). So I recommend trying the other compatibility choices also.

If anyone is still having trouble under Win 7 64-bit, I got it to work by doing the following:

1) Enabled administrator mode in the file properties, and compatibility for XP SP2.

2) Went into Explorer, and opened C:/users, then in folder options enabled the display of hidden folders

3) Right-clicked the folder Default and set it and all its subfolders to no longer be read-only.

4)Ran the installer, hit ignore when the error message popped up, and then the installer came up fine.

@Skitzzzy I can't really say much. In my case the error was caused by the "ocsetup.dll" file being read-only, and my solution has worked for a couple of other people as well.

But then again, it's also failed to work for just as many. Without seeing it I can't really hazard a guess or even help, other than to ask if you're using the version 9.0.3 installer (which is what I used).

I have windows 7.. it doesnt work as a regular install so you have to set it to "run installer as Windows XP (Service Pack 2) and run administrator and it works perfectly regardless.

Delete the opencandy folder at C:\users\whateverurdocfolderis­called\appdata\local\temp. Youll have to change the folder and search options under organize at the top of the folder to see the hidden files under the view tab. restart once its deleted, unplug your internet, install and it should be good to go. I fought with it for hours till I figured out it was an internet security check to make sure its not cracked. But it works now.
