N97 : Bads: No Xvid or Divix support, Bulky, bad keyboard

Goods: Very easy to use, easy OS intalled and good colors.

N900: Probably one of the biggest problems is ITS ONLY IN LANDSCAPE, that really pisses me off. But then everyone says get n900

on N97 Scratches all over my camera lens because of the way the camera cover was designed, the lock switch has broke off on the side of the phone after around 3-4 months, also my phone will not charge up unless i turn it off , its obviously the phone because ive tried around 5 chargers all with the same result, so ive ordered the N900 hope it wont bring the same disapointment as N97, Aside from all thesse problems the N97 would be a pretty damn good phone imo

There's no comparison to begin with, the N97 is just another Smartphone, whereas the N900 was made as a fusion between mobile phones and computers.

The N900 wins hands down.

If anyone use their phone to pair with Mercedes-Benz, stick with Symbios OS as N900 does not support SAP...at least not at this point. Sad but very true and lots of people are disappointed by this. N, E- Series support SAP (or rSAP). Don't worry iPhone does not support it either.

i heard that n900 don't have MMS facility? along with it another drawback is that maemo OS don't have much 3rd party apps available in th market on the other hand s60v5 can run apps from s60v3 also. i mean n900 is great for new users who used iphone like device where their is not much choice for user to change the behavior of the device but i think it is a heart breaking step to betray symbian after so many years!! s60 fans will understand what i am talking about.

I have the N900 and my sis has the N97 the N900 is definitly faster in every way . not only becuz of the better hardware but the opensource OS. Maemo5 which uses less ram + N900 is multi tasking ... it is also tht N900 is nokia's flagship so compare it to a model of the same brand is accually a stupid thing to do ... i say it was money well spent cuz off speed and i love the divx player tht works flaweless played a 3GB movie

N900 is a internet tablet with a function to call, N97 is a real phone.. but big problem with the N900 is that you can use it active for only 4 hours!! :| but then again, when are you using internet and watch movies for 4 hours long..

Too bad that you opt for n900. There is an physical bug in it. The menus are only able to be used in landscape. If you are busy with one hand then this is a huge problem. And then it is plastic. Look at the keyboard. plastic. Nokia is like a dacia compared to ferrari high tech computer corporation. High tech computer corporation have some luxury. Nokia will always be known as cheap. 1st of all - that's not a physical bug. Nokia will include portrait mode in future firmwares.

2nd - I don't care about portrait mode. If I'm driving or doing someting i wont play games and chat in skype. If I wonna call i just rotate the phone in portrait mode and it turns it self to phone mode, and there i can easily use 1 hand ( In phone settings this can be adjusted). I have this "phone".

I have the N97. Giving it away for the N900. The N97 has nothing wrong. It's a pretty good phone. But I am just sick and tired of the same look. The web browser lacks dramatically. I sometimes find the software lagging and slow as crap. I will give N900 a shot only because it has a different OS which looks promising.

N97 is a BETA product and we r BETA testers. shame on it. n97 is laggy. slow. freezing etc..its software related. maybe V2 patch will fix it? we will see. but iam one of those who even didnt get the V12 from V11. it says my V11 phone is uptodate..Thanx nokia for putting EFFORT to apply that V12 patch to all PHONES aorund the planet!

I have a n97 and it would be a decent phone if Nokia sorted out the massive amount of bugs the device has! Especially with the "live" internet feeds!

The n900 will be miles better than the n97 when its out, based purely on the fact it runs on a linux based OS will full flash support.. whereas the n97 runs on Symbian (which is showing its age)
