Wealthy people can do so and if they did not do it the majority of the financial giving in this country would go by the wayside. Have you ever wondered what would happen to the state budget if just a fourth of the people paying the most taxes in NY got upset and moved to Florida or Texas. It would destroy the state budget.

Paterson is a prick. I hope he gets destroyed in the election. He has imposed about 88 new taxes on us like nothing even though he got 7.2 billion from the federal govt. This includes a 17 cent tax on soda because were all fat AND an additional tax on GYM MEMBERSHIPS.

My governor was Blago. Now that he is gone they are raising the state income tax by 50% and the tax on businesses by 50%.
