I use FL Studio,quite well & am in all honesty comfortable with it to only an acceptable degree that's not cutting it anymore.I'm seriously thinking about switching to either Studio 1,Sonar,or Reaper because of their X64 support.Is there anything truly significant that Studio 1 may have an upper hand on over Sonar or Reaper that I could be briefly informed of here by anyone ?

Presonus, please, make more usable automation as in Reason, & not so stupid as in ProTools, Cubase, FL & other DAWs. It'll put you on the top of best-daw-list, cuz elecronic producers will use StudioOne, not only that one who produce rock or pop, where automation is not so important.
With current automation system (as in other daw) you couldn't say smth new in sound engeneering.
When I edit a song and then save it, then in the folder "media" isnt just one WAV song, theres Piano (1) Piano (2)... altho i wanted to have the song all together and not in its edited parts

i got one of these for christmas, and the sound quality is awful, it makes a buzzing sound whenever i play my intrument or sing into the mic at whatever volume i've set it out. And it always comes out really quiet.

I want to record the hardware audio out of a digital piano directly into the program, no virtual instruments, no MIDI, simple. The instructions make no sense to me and the record and play buttons do nothing. How do I do this?
@Deathkavaderva I've set up the MIDI track according to the instructions (which is retarded in the first place seeing as I ONLY want hardware audio through a fucking instrument jack and audio track) but can't for the life of me figure out how to configure the audio track "to use the Input Channels to which the external instrument’s audio output is connected." -manual, pg 42.

In Studio One, is it possible to edit just by selecting an area and cutting it? It seems very complicated to just do a simple cut. Let's say you want to edit out a breath in a vocal track, it appears that you have to use the range tool, then the cut tool. Then you have a big space sitting there. So, you have to use the range tool and select all audio on the right, and manually slide every thing over to the edge of the edit. In most programs, you just hit cut and it's done.

so what exactly does "world-class" mean, when it comes to time-stretching algorithms? Nothing, right? There is no definition and separation of classes with this kind of thing. It's like calling food "gourmet", it might sound good but it means nothing.
If I purchase a studio pack with this software included, I take it I can record my own vocals/instruments via the included mic and add them to presonus for editing/converting ready for mp3/cd .. thanks
Actually the 64-bit version does not work well with 32-bit plugins (most plugins are still 32-bit)... but that needs to be adressed by 3rd party people...Other than that, great software.
presonus studio one is very very good software to edit and create music.i use many softwares for music prod,like logic pro,cubase,ableton and reason...but presonus studio one is better than last 3. if u want to buy a licence buy it,because is very great software.great inferface,great vst stock plugins and many more features
I use Win7 64-Bit and I have no problems. I downloaded the demo couple weeks ago and it seems to be one of the greatest studios I've ever used. Better than FL and Cubase. This fairly simple. Im 15 and I use it and i get faster everyday with it. I've record many song on in my studio and it has so many AWESOME features. I recommend this. I still haven't found a mixer yet. When my demo is over I'm going to buy the Pro Version. Totally worth it.

I cant select 'record enabled' anymore. It was working on a previous song(s) but now after setting up my new song, with the correct inputs etc, i can hear the input out of my monitors but the 'record enabled' button isnt selectable. Some other guy on the S1 forum had the same problem; anyone know how to fix this?
@FuturedaveyP Presonus support forum sorted the problem; the save location had changed to a none writable location. Changed it back to my external hardrive (where im saving my songs) all once again im able to arm new tracks. Wicked!!

@bertea6 you have to convert the mp3 file into a Wav. file, once it's a wav file, the Studio One can read the file and use it. There are several softwares on the web that you can download to convert any mp3 file to wav file for instance, Audacity.
not impressed with studio one at all. all eqs i've tried to boost kick levels at the frequencies the require seem to clolour the sound. the synths are under powered. as a reason user, i'll stick with what i know. it may cost more, but the packaged fx and instruments (which are the only plugins you can use on reason) are far superior in both quality and usability
I'm currently using Logic and was curious about the out of the box effects??? I use a lot of Logic efx built in and wouldn't want to have to invest in more effects to use this.
FL STUDIO BEEN THERE DONE THAT. FL DOES NOT NEED TO COMPET WITH ANYONE. IT IS THE BEST DAW EVER DRAG AND DROP BEEN DOING IT FOR YEARS WITH FL. BEST SOUND BEST TO WORK WITH FAST AND THE EASIEST EVER. FL STUDIO WINS ALL THE TIME.
The workflow in FL is probably even better than Studio One, but for me FL studio is just a toy for kids and looks like a more advanced version of eJay. For me, it lacks too many professional features like Cubase, Ableton, Logic Pro has. Sure, FL have won a few awards here and there.. but that doesn't really mean it's the best.

All, If you received Studio One Artist for free (an evaluation version) when you bought one of the Pre Sonus boxes like the USB AudioBox, you can't expect it to allow you to publish your work. Pre Sonus is in the software business. If you try out the free product and like it, you are expected to buy the full version.
@JasonVladimir, I just wnt through the same problems. I needed to check my laptop OS, It is Win7 64-bit. I had to download new driveres for 64-bit winows and I had to download the Studio One artist. After all of this, everything worked just fine. You have to make an account first then activate your product so you can download the right updates. Best of luck!
Just bought an AudioBox USB that also came w/ Studio one. I've registered both products and so far it sucks! Drivers won't download, updates won't download, and no response from tech support!
Studio One is the best DAW I have ever used PERIOD, over my 10 years of digital music recording using Pro Tools, Cool Edit, FL Studio, Cubase and Logic Studio One is a cut above all of them in my opinion just fantastic.
not so easy to use when it crashes like crazy. Ain't worth the price. I made a good investment on FL STUDIO. Moreover, Fl STUDIO is perhaps the most underated amongst the the music boys up the hill....lol. Musicians want a program that produces the products FL STUDIO produces the results. I'm having trouble doing a final mixdown of my songs with Studio One Artists,Whenever I go to mixdown to audio file it gives me the options to choose the channels i have recorded and a 2 track return channel, the 2 track return is the default but when I do the digital release there is no sound whenever I open it. However, if i choose one of the channels on the output option it only does a mixdown of that single channel. Please help.

@evanz79 hi, i have it too. you can save the song in file/save as and it will go to your documents and then it can be played on itunes or whatever and you can burn it from there, problem is that the file is very big, i recorded a 6min piece and it weighs 66MB. mine also says upgrade instead of project. i only want it for personal use only, to burn cds of me playing and just share it with family, etc. but the files are too big and that i dont know how to fix it, i think you have to master it

i got the chance to try this program out at sam ash. My second beat I made was the joint I swear!!!! this is a mac and pc program all on 1 disk. $145.00 with the interface. The program works like my samplitude 15 but more advance. I run fruity loops xxl to make all my beats and feel quite comfartable with it. But the studio one is tight. If your daw savoy you can work this program
Looks very similar to Logic Studio, though the graphics are not as nice.. Haven't tried this so I can't say which one is better, but I think I'll stick with Logic.

@neblixsaber ?????? I run fl9 all day and make beats in 30 min, but I have to say studio one is way more advanced. It works more like samplitude 15, which I maste rout on that program but studio one is the hotness, but its not recongnized as far as protools

This is the reason i bought logic because ive done 5 months of watching videos and researching and i think logic and pro-tools have it in the bag ! FL is fun to work with in terms of work flow, it is a lot simpler of a program to use at first !
@Flipjunkie1 The DAW itself has no bearing on the sound, it's the plug-ins. Sure, FL Studio's free built in plugins don't sound that great, but if you're talking about professionals then none of them use built in stuff either, regardless of if it's Protools or Logic. They use VST's from people like East West or Native Instruments.
It doesn't matter if Protools and the like is more "professional studio setting", because I don't like the workflow of it. I make better music with FL Studio.

@Flipjunkie1 That's all good and dandy, but regardless of if they are better, they still aren't as good quality as the other stuff out there. I will say that sytrus and harmless are very powerful FL synthesizers, though.
@Flipjunkie1 the first thing they teach you at music school is if you want sound quality buy an audio interface. Don't blame the DAW if you're using the sound card that came with your PC/Mac & didn't set your DAWs audio settings correctly, logic is very good program but in terms of workflow fl studio is faster as for what's better between them is personal opinion
So I purchased studio one a couple months ago and when I finished installing it, it just didn't work, I couldn't get sound or anything then I realized I had windows 7 and the studio one cd wasn't yet updated for windows 7 so I went to their website to download the new updated windows 7 program but it's a zip file and I have no clue how to download that :) I really wanna start recording ASAP so please can someone help me out? I cant select 'record enabled' anymore. It was working on a previous song(s) but now after setting up my new song, with the correct inputs etc, i can hear the input out of my monitors but the 'record enabled' button isnt selectable. Some other guy on the S1 forum had the same problem; anyone know how to fix this?

@FuturedaveyP Presonus support forum sorted the problem; the save location had changed to a none writable location. Changed it back to my external hardrive (where im saving my songs) all once again im able to arm new tracks. Wicked!!

@bertea6 you have to convert the mp3 file into a Wav. file, once it's a wav file, the Studio One can read the file and use it. There are several softwares on the web that you can download to convert any mp3 file to wav file for instance, Audacity.

not impressed with studio one at all. all eqs i've tried to boost kick levels at the frequencies the require seem to clolour the sound. the synths are under powered. as a reason user, i'll stick with what i know. it may cost more, but the packaged fx and instruments (which are the only plugins you can use on reason) are far superior in both quality and usability

The workflow in FL is probably even better than Studio One, but for me FL studio is just a toy for kids and looks like a more advanced version of eJay. For me, it lacks too many professional features like Cubase, Ableton, Logic Pro has. Sure, FL have won a few awards here and there.. but that doesn't really mean it's the best.

All, If you received Studio One Artist for free (an evaluation version) when you bought one of the Pre Sonus boxes like the USB AudioBox, you can't expect it to allow you to publish your work. Pre Sonus is in the software business. If you try out the free product and like it, you are expected to buy the full version.

@JasonVladimir, I just wnt through the same problems. I needed to check my laptop OS, It is Win7 64-bit. I had to download new driveres for 64-bit winows and I had to download the Studio One artist. After all of this, everything worked just fine. You have to make an account first then activate your product so you can download the right updates. Best of luck!

Just bought an AudioBox USB that also came w/ Studio one. I've registered both products and so far it sucks! Drivers won't download, updates won't download, and no response from tech support!

Studio One is the best DAW I have ever used PERIOD, over my 10 years of digital music recording using Pro Tools, Cool Edit, FL Studio, Cubase and Logic Studio One is a cut above all of them in my opinion just fantastic.

Moreover, Fl STUDIO is perhaps the most underated amongst the the music boys up the hill....lol. Musicians want a program that produces the products FL STUDIO produces the results. I'm having trouble doing a final mixdown of my songs with Studio One Artists,Whenever I go to mixdown to audio file it gives me the options to choose the channels i have recorded and a 2 track return channel, the 2 track return is the default but when I do the digital release there is no sound whenever I open it. However, if i choose one of the channels on the output option it only does a mixdown of that single channel. Please help.

THIS IS BETTER THAN PRO TOOLS MUCH EASIER TO USE BETTER WORK FLOW... THE SOUND QUALITY IS GREAT .. THE FACT THAT IS 64 BIT AUTOMATICLY PUTS IT AHEAD OF AVID UNTIL THEY CAN MATCH THIS AND MAKE REWIRING AS EASY AS PRESONUS HAS THEY ARE STUCK IN THE STONE AGE.. LOL, 5 STARS THIS IS A GREAT PRODUCT!

the last days i worked with the studio one demo, what a great workflow !
i use cubase the last 20 years ( now 5.5 ) but the studio one workflow is realy amazing, no problems with my uad & hardware master chain, the pipline plug
works great, the pro eq with the analyzer is a great too, please presonus, dont change nothing in the surface...its realy nice....no other program I have learned so quickly

@evanz79 hi, i have it too. you can save the song in file/save as and it will go to your documents and then it can be played on itunes or whatever and you can burn it from there, problem is that the file is very big, i recorded a 6min piece and it weighs 66MB. mine also says upgrade instead of project. i only want it for personal use only, to burn cds of me playing and just share it with family, etc. but the files are too big and that i dont know how to fix it, i think you have to master it

i got the chance to try this program out at sam ash. My second beat I made was the joint I swear!!!! this is a mac and pc program all on 1 disk. $145.00 with the interface. The program works like my samplitude 15 but more advance. I run fruity loops xxl to make all my beats and feel quite comfartable with it. But the studio one is tight. If your daw savoy you can work this program

Looks very similar to Logic Studio, though the graphics are not as nice.. Haven't tried this so I can't say which one is better, but I think I'll stick with Logic.

@neblixsaber `yeah i wasn't saying that , of course if you cant write music your gonna suck regardless . just saying that out of the box in my opinion even before you mix down logic has a better ,more clear and warm sounding playback to your instruments . This is the reason i bought logic because ive done 5 months of watching videos and researching and i think logic and pro-tools have it in the bag ! FL is fun to work with in terms of work flow, it is a lot simpler of a program to use at first !

@Flipjunkie1 The DAW itself has no bearing on the sound, it's the plug-ins. Sure, FL Studio's free built in plugins don't sound that great, but if you're talking about professionals then none of them use built in stuff either, regardless of if it's Protools or Logic. They use VST's from people like East West or Native Instruments.
It doesn't matter if Protools and the like is more "professional studio setting", because I don't like the workflow of it. I make better music with FL Studio.

Don't blame the DAW if you're using the sound card that came with your PC/Mac & didn't set your DAWs audio settings correctly, logic is very good program but in terms of workflow fl studio is faster as for what's better between them is personal opinion

So I purchased studio one a couple months ago and when I finished installing it, it just didn't work, I couldn't get sound or anything then I realized I had windows 7 and the studio one cd wasn't yet updated for windows 7 so I went to their website to download the new updated windows 7 program but it's a zip file and I have no clue how to download that :) I really wanna start recording ASAP so please can someone help me out?
