  • @christmanpunch Either do I! I wish they wouldn't banned Automatic knives in certain states and countries of the world. However maybe an Age Limit would be good. When I was 13 I was fucking around with a knife and stabed my leg.

  • whats the difference between automatic and spring assisted

  • My philosophy of "auto-blades" is good for uses for in-house use mostly no stress situations. It can be used for as a point at tiny objects instead of a finger. It is also a tool that can be put in a draw and toolbox.

  • ha

  • Slashing isn't all that useful in military situations; often the enemy will be wearing pro-gear of some kind, be it kevlar or a flak jacket, and you aren't going to be able to simply slash through it, especially if they are wearing other gear on top of that. A slash is easy to deflect and hard to land in close confined quarters, ie: room clearing. Quick stabs to vital areas work best in situations like that, and will end the fight quickly. That is from my experiences in the USMC. Love your vids

  • I just bought this, the new editions of them look alot different, mine isnt a satin finish those i got my black coated, ran me 133.74$ tax included

  • What is your opinion on the out-of-the-front autos like the 3300 infidel benchmade? You talked about the small button for the autos and how it can be difficult understress. What about benchmade's axis locking system like the 940 osborne? Would it be any easier to use under stress? I'm a lefty so I also have to take that into consideration.

  • @icemanytube The axis lock isnt a problem cause you only have to hit it when youre closing it, its not necessary to quickly close a tactical knife, only quick to open.

  • Great video, btw, laws in Minnesota?

  • I find that the SOG pocket clips come loose to often, and the way their designed where they set in between the handle scales, you cant tighten them very well. And what happened to me with my SOG Aegis, the clip wobbled side to side, so as i was trying to tighten it, it wouldn't tighten to where the clip wouldn't wobble, and then my Zytel scale cracked at where the clip screws in. I was very disappointed with their clip design. Plus, the clip was resting on a very abrasive rubber insert.

  • Being a normal civilian, I feel fortunate to own one of these bad boys. I have the TiNi combo edge. A friend of mine bought it from the Snap-On tool truck that used to come to his work. He sold it to me because I loved it so much. My only issue is that the P clip interferes with the blade space inside the hadle when the blade gets pressed in while in the handle. One of these days I'm gonna pull that clip out and grind it down flush. If the blade pushes down it makes a nik in the edge. Ugh.

  • I found some sog auto knives on amazon for 16 bucks, I'm sure there must be a significant difference between those sogs and this one, what are they? Can I buy these cheaper ones as a defensive knife before my CCW goes through? NYC sucks, probably won't get it, and having a knife 4inches or longers is a no no. Also don't want to break the bank that's a lot for a knife as a guy who doesn't buy a lot of them.

  • best part is at 7:01 - 7:03. the little noise when he whips his finger. classy

  • Would you sell it?

  • Are you planning to review the SOG KNIFE SP-23 SOGZILLA? I'd like to see it compared to Spyderco knives.

  • wow man back in the day..lol

  • nutnfancy old school!! the budding superstar, haha.

  • I'm doing just fine thank you :)

  • I carry a lot of my knives on my waistban (especially when jogging), would it open in my pants on accident?

  • @keepnitreal94 I really don't think so. The blade will not open without the button being pushed. If you turn on the safety you won't have to worry about that.

  • Nutn sounds sooo tired

  • time for the second video on my maraton, im actually really wanting to buy the sog flash 1 that was int he previous video ! very nice little EDC knive

  • NUTNFANCY was in the military?? does any one know what branch?

  • He's active, USAF. -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • @nutnfancy

Huh, wow. so is he special operations, S.E.R.E. Instructor? Also i posted a comment on Nutn's channel, I'm joining the military and i'm looking for an excellent survival and folding knife if you could point me in the right direction that would be great. If you or he got my first post i apologize for bothering you a second time

  • check out the page and click on the playlist and there should be a playlist for that

  • he's not specops or SERE. Nutnfancy is in an air refueling wing.

  • Air force has all the nice bases, im in korea right now and all i can say is that the army base i am currently on sucks compared to the osan airforce base. They are all so prim and proper everythings neat and clean. Normal people join the airforce thats for sure.

  • I have a switchblade like that the blade is black but stainless steel and very sharp

  • Still have it wanna sell?

  • You sound kinda tired there nutnfancy-- nice review though! Get some sleep.

  • Great review. realy like how thin it is makes a nice edc

  • they could have gone with zytel instead of aluminum, make it a bit lighter.

  • @TheHellBound666

that would lower the quality of the knife, if i am thinking of the same material as you are, if not my bad

  • where is this knife made?

  • I bought mine a year ago for 60 bucks and it came with a free crkt knife too. Pretty damn good deal.

  • I just purchased one. In NC, it's only legal for Military and Police to purchase and own one. This is a great knife for self-defense AND utility. This knife is NOT considered a weapon in NC because the blade is shorter than 4.5 inches. Hence, this knife is legal even when carried concealed.

  • i dont understand why automatic knives are illegal... my ti lite comes out faster then a damn automatic plus i dont have to waste my time hitting a button.

  • Because a lot of people on the left think it's their job to take care of the rest of us and keep us safe as if they were our parents and we're helpless children. They want to prevent low lifes from stabbing people so they say "Hey, let's bad all scary looking knives!" Without realizing that all they're really doing is taking self-defense tools out of the hands of law abiding citizens who would never use them to stab someone to begin with. And of course the low lifes will still have them anyway.

  • exactly... all the law makers do in most weapon related regulations is fuck over the people that should indeed have the weapon. if a person is not law obiding no law is going to stop them at obtaining weapons.

  • I've been using and "playing" with knives since I was a little kid. They're not that dangerous. I highly doubt a young child will find an auto knife, think it will be fun to stab someone and then goes off and does it. Reality just doesn't really play out like that. As immature as most kids are they aren't THAT stupid. Besides, an auto knife is no more dangerous than any knife you can find readily available in a kitchen. I see absolutely no logic in banning knives and guns.

  • @christmanpunch I agree totally. Banning guns and knives does not stop criminals from getting them, it just prevents law abiding citizens from getting them. I'm not a legislative genius or anything, but that seems very clearly to be very counter productive to me.

  • @christmanpunch A person with a kitchen knife sounds way more dangerous to me then a person with most folders and carry knives.

  • what do you use knives in the military for?

  • Well, essentially, for cutting stuff. Daily utility purposes. I've also heard about Spec Ops guys who've had to defend themselves with their knives and desperate situations...

  • As tools. And for stabbing bad guys in CQ combat . Which surprisingly happens more often than you might think. Especially in urban combat missions where you're often walking, running and fighting in lots of neighborhoods. When you rush in a room by yourself sometimes a guy will try and tackle you and then it's too close to use your guns effectively. Or you could be out of amma. So you either have to fight like cave men using your fists and objects lying around or your combat knife.

  • automatic knives are illegal in my state :(

  • i just bought one of those for like 107 including shiping, sooo awsome

  • good review :)

  • I love the blade on the SOG Tac-Auto.

  • they should have made the button glow in the dark

  • I like sog, but for 160$ they should be using a better steel than aus8.

  • I just picked up one of these with the black coated blade and cant agree with you enuff on the quality of this knife. I dont know what happened with yours but my came nice and sharp out the box. I could shave hair with it but perhaps you just need yours sharper. No sweat. Great review.

  • dimebagg3darrell---if u even watched the vid, you would know it was an automatic, not spring assisted, dumbass know-it-all

  • i dont think it opens by gravity. Its most likely spring loaded.

  • i live in illinois and one of my friends got a auto knife nut the mechanism broke so now you have to open it manualy while holding the button and it locks in to place. is this still a switch blade or not?

  • if you have to manually manipulate the blade then its a manual knife, it would be counted as a manual with a button locking mechanism.

  • thank you

  • youre very welcome.

  • if the knife can open by gravity then the knife is still counted as a switch blade

  • u get what u pay for!

  • SOG over a benchmade? please....don't insult us!

  • SOG has the better price in THIS case. Which for most people is the main issue.

  • still not a benchmade

  • Thanks, buddy, great review.

  • ey u said u might phase the autos out of ur life if u want u can pass them on to me if ya want

  • lol

  • why does nutnfancy always say "how ya doin" at the most random times?? I have missed an explanation somewhere...made me rewind the vid the first time I heard it...

  • woah glow in the dark! do it again!!!

  • when the knife dont work thats when u start swingin around the gun

  • folding knives are like sunglasses. expensive ones get lost but the cheap ones stay with you for life.

  • lol..You can say that again :D ..sounds like my experience with spyderco..which is why I carry the cheaper Byrd models now :)

  • i dont like the pocket clip. i have a half serrated black tanto version of the sog. the knife its self is great, i love it. but the pocket clip is not wide or high enough from the handle to grip the side of my pocket. its not going to mater though because i cant carry it around anyways and im not going to risk it! but its a nice addition to my collection. good video 5 stars!

  • @pinpointND the clip on this knife is the best clip I have ever used

  • Can you please review the SOG Spec elite2

    thanks

  • Great Looking knife. I might have to find that knife. I like those clips that are brought into the butt of the knife. You can carry without scale body.

  • nutnfancy, you should look into the boker kalashnikov, auato, it has just about everything in the sog but half the price, the button is bigger, and it opens faster. the clip is the same. i think you would enjoy it

  • Great review, I'm looking at getting a Sog Tac Mini to carry in Florida (correct me if I'm wrong but autos are completely legal to carry in FL right?) - has anyone used the Mini Tac to compare to this full size one?

  • I want that

  • I just bought the tanto version and it holds its own with any Dalton. I love it. The lock up is phenomenal.

  • sick ass knife

  • witch exact model is the benchmade stryker in this video? 9100 or 9500 the mini stryker?

  • Good vid ***** I own and love the knife. I agree SOG is a really good group.

  • in my place we can carry 3-in knife, concealed, auto or anything, don't matter. but if you use it, then the laws will come in. self defense, fine. attacking first, bad times. always with good review. i just got one.

  • I got a SOG-Tac auto when they were being first released(didn't know it at the time) and love mine!

I got mine for like 100 bucks too...and maybe it's just me but I though mine was super sharp. What constitutes being sharp to you?

IT was way sharper then any razor I have ever touched thats for sure. Still is holding a good edge too.

  • how do you close aout knives? such as this sog tac. found a great site for knives called (the blade shop . coM) 88$ alot of good knives and very good prices on spyderco knives. not so much on balisongs but i digress. love your vids and i get alot of good buy ideas from them. 5/5

  • did you order from there? I read a few bad reviews about the blade shop but i want to get this knife for $88.

  • to close the auto knife you just hold the deployment button and close it.

  • i guessing ur a cop or someone in the military cuz on the site it says: to authorized Military and Law Enforcement personnel only.

  • HOLY CRAP BEST CAMERA?

Anyway which website did you snag that off of?

  • Very good review.

I've had my SOG Tac for a few months now and I have to say that I love it. You mentioned that yours wasn't all that sharp out of the box, but mine was as sharp as could be. I think SOG did a very good job with this knife. As you said, the blade is perfect and the handle contours to your hand well and is quite easy to control.

  • are you a cop or active military personal? because I want one but they're hard to find. but I found a website that u don't have to be a either to order. just wondering.

  • No. I'm just a regular guy. Automatic knives like the Tac Auto are legal to own but illegal to carry. I'm just a collector.

A lot of cutlery stores will tell you that it's legal to own these, but dont get caught carrying one. Unfortunately, online stores [usually] arent as personable so you wont be able to purchase an auto knife without being police or active military.

  • in Georgia i know we can have them. and one website will ship it to me. i just wanted to know what kind of people own these. and no i won't get caught carrying this around my area. thanks and where did you buy it?

  • I get most of my knives from a place in Savannah. If you're in the area, head over to the Savannah Mall to a place called Outman Knife & Cigar. It's a bit pricey, but I love that store. They have a website if you want to check it out. The site has the store's phone number. If you cant make it to Savannah, call their parent store in North Carolina (number also on the site) and ask if they can ship it to you.

  • auto knives of any kind are legal to cary in georgia as long as its visible at all times and you can get caught with one, just don't let them catch you cutting someone.

  • that goes for any knife.

  • On the website is says something about authorized police or military personal can nly bye it. Is that true?

  • *15 US 1244 (2-4):

Switchblade knives can be shipped by common carrier, that sale, transportation or

distribution, possession or introduction into interstate commerce of switchblade knives is authorized if it is pursuant to a contract with the armed forces or any member or employee thereof acting in the performance of his or her duty may possess switchblade

knives and may have them shipped and sold to him or her.

  • @nutnfancy in new hampshire all knives are legal no regulation

  • simply find another website. lol

  • @AlexCell33 in new hampshire alll knives are legal

  • @AlexCell33 It really depends on where you live. Now, from the SOG website, they cannot ship any automatic knives unless it is to military or police, however, if you contact them, they can provide a list of suppliers that CAN ship it to you. PLEASE check your state laws before you purchase an automatic knife. Arkansas law allows carry of an automatic knife IF it's primary use is NOT as a weapon. The law is a little vague, however, it works in my favor. LOL.

  • A bit small in my opinion but its still nice.

  • This weel made review, all nice knives.

All my knives have the pocket clip too low, can't used it.. only on Benchmade 710 is OK, but still someone can tell it's a folder.

  • i like your reviews.but why arent you making more?cuz you seem to have many knives.

  • Thanks slayer. Now that I know there's interest I will make some more. Stay tuned...

  • Definitely make more. If you ever need short intro for your videos let me know, I could whip up something fancy (or simple) for ya.
