  • @americodaphne Since your house is most likely drywall you may want to invest in a simple stud finder that works great. I have a video that shows it and I will attach it to a Hello on your channel+++Bob

  • thanks Bob,it was interesting, but my stud finder worked great yesterdeay and today all it does is just beeps like crazy and the light flashes non stop, I put a new battery but still the same???????

  • @americodaphne Drywall or plaster home? Interior or exterior walls? Age of home?+++Bob

  • i'm starting out with first home...so Thanx for the helpful note with hearty humor at the end....^.,^

  • Thank you very much!

  • I used a stud finder on myself, and it went off. Lol, guess that makes me a super stud!

  • $70.00 for a stud finder? Holy balls, Batman.

Anyway, great video — too many videos on using stud finders don't even mention the tool is not fool-proof.

  • Great information and i like the way things are explained in a lay mans language . I learned a lot about small things that needs really your attention if you never used a stud finder before in your home. Great

  • Amazing video... I'm glad I came acroos this. Thanks!!

  • Thank you so much, that was very thorough and precise. I'm going to buy my first stud finder.

  • Hi, What brand is that cheap one with teh vertical LED bar indicator? Dad likes it and has been looking for a good stud finder for years. TNX, Ken .-.-.

  • great tips Bob

  • thanks for the video man !

  • How can I find electric wires or copper tubes inside the masonry or concrete with a black and decker stud finder?

  • very cool, many thanks for this video.

  • @Jallandhara If you get a chance, and have drywall walls, you could check out my Easy stud finder video+++Bob

  • im a qualified builder, and do work like this all the time, hanging toilet roll holders towel rails, pictures, etc,

i have a stud finder, and never ever use it. it is so unreliable and you need to be sure with the nail like you said. i just tap my knuckle till i hear it. then go to the nail. these tools are for d.i.y'ers if you ask me. gimmicky toys

  • Cool! I learned why some of the numbers on my tape are red; plus a lot of other things. Very well done!

  • Bob, thanks for posting this video, from the bottom of my heart. It was helpful. It enabled me to install some shelves.

  • bit . ly/jerku

  • Thanks, Bob. I was getting so many puzzling 'hits' on the finder I just purchased, I was overjoyed to find your video. The use of a blunted finish nail as a supplement is a real valuable tip. Now I won't puncture the (take your pick: the PVC, copper, duct or electric) behind the wall while searching for the studs! Thanks again.

  • My mom and i would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts Bob. I'm 15 years old and my mom is a single parent, and between the two of us, operating the stud finder was a true conundrum. You were truly a godsend.

May God bless you in all ways.

  • @Jusaleb It is good to hear that mother and son are working together! Keep it up!+++Bob

  • Thanks Bob, this was very helpful . I'm a mom whose grown kids know how to do these things but don't have time to teach their mom.

  • @Lorellehb Now maybe you can still teach them a thing or two! Thanks for watching+++Bob

  • Great video! I hate signing in to leave a comment, but this one deserved it. Thumbs up! Funny stud finder humor at the end.

  • You GOT to try the Magic Stud Finder products, if you want to hang anything on walls ,thats the tool you need.

  • @biaryinnovation Not only have I tried it I also have made a video of it+++Bob

  • Bob, this video was very informative. Thank you for being so precise, I really appreciate it.

  • Fantastic video! Extremely useful and very concise!!

  • Thank you for the guide. This is definitely help me with finding the stud for my TV wall mount.

  • Wonderful video.

  • very cool

  • Man i love this guy

    Thank you very much!

  • thank you so much!

  • very helpful video, i never knew any of this stuff! just wanted to put some wall shelves up!

  • i liked this vid alot.

    BEEEEEP " see , it works !! " lol.

if i did that to my missus after she bought something like this for me, that solid beep sound would indicate a flatline and not a stud partition !!! :) :p

  • great video, ill be mounting my 42' LCD tv next week, im glad i found about this. its very helpful, thanks.

  • A Stud using a Stud finder how ironic

  • thanks for the post. very helpful.

  • Excellent video.this has been very informative.thanks

    from uk

  • What a fine video! Excellent presentation, lots of "watch out for this problem . . .".

Now, I can go back and find all the missing studs for hanging my crown molding . . . Charles

  • Great info and explains a lot of why I get false readings. Could you follow up with using a stud finder that has a built in electrical current finder. There must be some tips and false readings when using that option.

  • haha "stud finder" great videos, please keep them coming.

  • Good info. I also use a reo-bar finder for concrete tilt panel work and slab work, installing bolts, holes etc. Same principle and a lot of less broken drill bits and short holes. Made by Bosch.

  • hahah...hes' sending shots to all of you electricians and plumbers ("no self-respecting plumber") lol...nah but very insightful, im want to become a home installation tech.

  • Hi Bob...this has been very informative! But before i get started i thought i'ld check with you. I need to hang a towel bar in the powder room. Previous efforts by my husband lead to torn drywall because the scews never actually went INTO the stud (I think they went on the edge). Any advise?

  • If its a large towel bar you may want to consider toggle bolts, especially if the drywall is already damaged.Any hardware store clerk should be able to steer you to the right toggles I would take the towel bar with me to hardware store.Good Luck===Bob

  • Thank you very much!!!!! I learned a lot.

  • You are very welcome===Bob

  • Hi. For some reason i've found myself watching these Diy and Drywall clips on You Tube. I'm from the UK, and have my own very successful Drywall Business and have done for coming up 10 years. And of all the clips i've watched, you are the most articulate and clued up person of all. And it was a pleasure listening to someone who knows what they are talking about. A bit of a rarity on You Tube i've found out. Good Luck.

  • I just got hired for a maintenance job a couple weeks ago. I learned alot watching your videos and they help me in alot of situations. Thanks Bob!

  • Glad to be of service---Bob

  • Great tips. I can't believe how much I learned. Lots of it is common sense but great to watch.

  • Bob, thanks you so much! The stud finder is the most frustrating tool I own. I think they should rename it the "something is behind the wall right here maybe" tool, since that is what it is really telling you.

I am gonna go give that pan-rack another shot.

    Thanks again!

  • Nice video, told me everything I needed to know.

  • Glad to be of assistance---Bob

  • I thought a stud finder was an easy tool to use, Wow..I was totally wrong. Its pretty tricky...

Thanks for the great tips Bob

  • You are very welcome--Hope it helps---Bob

  • Awesome video Bob! Thank you so much for the info!

  • You are very welcome BABY!---Bob

  • That was some good info there Bob. I've never used stud finders my self, a good old nail, hammer, and the bang of a hand works great for me. However I must say your information made me think differently about them, I'm probably not going to go out and buy one, but if I do ever used one I'll have a lot more confidence in it.

  • Hi Bob -- Awesome video. Very well presented. Thank you. Would you mind letting us know the details of the $10 model and also the one that has level line. Thank you.

  • The $10.00 model was by Zircon. Not a recommendation but it works for me.The lazer level studfinder is offered by Black and Decker and I have been real satisfied with its performance-Hope this helped----Bob

  • Yes...many thanks again Bob.

  • Great advice, just what I was looking for, thanks for the insight

  • You are very welcome Thanks for the post---Bob

  • Excellent advice.

  • Thanks for this and for the "class" of cut a straight line (from uruguay) your classes are going far

  • Class is in! lol Thanks Bob

  • THANK YOU!

  • you are a good teacher
