Pink Floyd is my all time favorite rock group and Comfortably Numb is up there as one of my favorite Floyd songs. Most cover versions of CN that I've ever heard just don't seem to work for me. Anathema, however, do seem to hit the mark in this instance. Yeah... I like it.

People get by, by saying it is art when it is actually crap. Whether you like this version or not I personally do not like out of tune vocals, a band who cannot decide what time they are in, and a paint by numbers interpretation to a great song. I like Anathema and bands like Queensryche and Dream Theater but their versions of comfortably numb are lousy at best (this one, no offense to a great band, was painful). If they played any song like they played this it would be painful.

Basically you can't accept that any band would want to play another bands songs for whatever reason, whether to pay it tribute, because it has the same kind of emotional meaning to them, or because it is just an awesome song that deserves to be heard another time. For anybody that wonders why he destroyed that AMP, you have no idea what you're complaining about. This was their last song of the concert, an encore to be precices. They have been relieved as the working towards this concert was the biggest step they've done till then. Plus, Anathema is not Pink Floyd. They dont even try to be like them. Anathema was inspired by PF, but that doest mean one can compare both bands side by side. Just dont do it and respect Anathema the way they are. Thanks.

Anathema's "We're Here Because We're Here" CD is probably one of the most spiritual and riveting pieces of music I have ever heard. So sad that not many will hear its brilliance and acknowledge Anathema's passion. They have grown so much. Powerful. It is a total listening experience and beautiful.
