  • "and my I never recover !!!!"

  • Is it just me who thinks the Fiddler is really scary...

  • i love how golde's so happy to have married off tzeitel

  • never trust an employer... lol

  • Hahaha i love how confused Motel looks when he runs in! XD

  • "Laban tricked Jacob and gave him his UGLY daughter Leah"... You don't hear political incorrectness in movies like that anymore. Haha.

  • GOOD DAY!

  • According to the Torah your not allowed to force someone to marry

  • "yeah like a bandage can help a corpse." omg that line makes me laugh every time :D

  • If you drink Absinthe, you see the green fairy, right? What the heck do I have to drink to see the fiddler?!

  • that's what you get when you get drunk. liver failure and a wicked hangover

  • Golde: "I thank thee!" *claps*

Tevye: "Why do you have to....*claps*...*holds head*....oooowwww."

  • Golde is so funny.

  • I think it's funny how most of the people who have watched this video, including me, are watching it because we will be in a school musical. :) Haha. lol

  • @kiki2lu LOL Me too.

  • I love how Jewish people are so....happy(:

  • "Money is the worlds curse"

"Then my the lord smite me with it! and let me never recover!"

  • To me the Fiddler shows up because he represents what Tevya mentioned at the beginning. Life is hard and sometimes it only gets harder. And all you can do is cling to what you believe in and hope it keeps you alive while you try to find what happiness you can in your precarious situation.

So Tevya pictures the fiddler to tell himself "Hey, yeah. Life sucks sometimes. But you'll get by and you're still alive to enjoy what might come in the future. So cheer up and have faith."

  • Our class is doing The Fiddler on the Roof for our next musical!

  • Tzeitel kinda looks like Barbra Streisand.

  • The fiddler scares me....

  • My mom is just like Golde. Stop reading and do the dishes.

    There are no dishes.

Then wash the clean ones again.

  • the fiddler looks like the devil....

  • Gotta love the Fiddler's a-little-too-happy-smile.

The Fiddler always fascinated me here. Just WHO is the guy? Is he a random villager? A family friend of Tevye? A traveler? A figment of Tevye's imagination? The result of Tevye being drunk as hell? The harbinger of a massive hangover?

For the production being in this guy's name, he sure is an enigma.

  • @nepomusik I love the fiddler too. I don't think he's part of the story. He represents the imbalance that Tevye talked about in the beginning, when a person loses tradition. But he's also around when changes occur, like when they all have to leave. He's like a devil/angel all at once. at least imo.

  • @nepomusik He's the personification of...TRADITION!

    :)

  • @nepomusik

The Fiddler is a representation of "Tradition"

  • I hate progressives sometimes. They are obsessed with change. Sorry, but change isn't always good. In fact, most of the time, its isn't. If it aint broke....

  • Fidller is kind of Tevye not-so imaginary friend. ^^

  • NEver trust an employer ? Not all of them are criminals ... ^^

  • LOL at 7:14 at the evil look Tevye gives Perchik scoffing while saying "world's curse"

  • thats what i need at the end of a night out. A violinist to follow me home and play me a tune

  • I hate that Communist bull crap spewed by whats-his-name.

  • @sandorsbox

Perchik ? Well, he most likely means no harms.

  • @Briselance Of course not, because he believes what he's saying. That's scarrier than someone who doesn't believe it spewing it out.

  • @sandorsbox

    Somehow, yeah.

  • I'm guessing the fiddler is an allegory and not actually some random villager who likes to follow Tevyre around playing a fiddle?

  • @ginnyisdacoolest The fiddler is a representation of tradition, and therefore Tevye's beliefs in said tradition. : )

  • If I was Tevye, I would be so drunk that any noise would bother me and I woulda prolly attacked the fiddler LOL

  • @JA268 yeah, what shnglbot said 

  • i'd be so in love with that radical boy!

  • "The Bible clearly teaches us, you can never trust an employer!" lol

  • @Digga1221 That is true

  • I love Golde she's hilarious "I THANK THEE! OH I THANK THEE!"

  • @AfterlifeAuthor3 I don't - Is it me or is she a social-climber for trying to marrying her girls to rich.old guys - I hate social-climbers

  • @JA268 i think in that time/place the only way for a poor girl to come across some wealth was to marry a wealthy man. it wasn't a matter of being greedy or snobby, but of not wanting your daughter to suffer from early death due to malnutrition and overwork... which was the fate of so many.

  • @JA268

To sum it up, you say "What's wrong with wanting to be richer ? Trying to be rich by most likely loveless, arranged marriages." Did I get your point ?

  • 4:30 hangover!!

  • Just so people can get the names right, this is what it says in my script:

Tevye, Golde, Tzeitel, Hodel, Chava, Shpritze, Bielke, Motel, Perchik, Lazar Wolf, and Fyedka.

  • Now this is a switch. Usually it's the guy who wants to stick to traditions regaurding men and women and the girl who wants to change them

  • It's very nice!?! He's literally dragging you around!

Haha! *And may I never recover!*

  • such a new dance. its so shocking to my system.

  • hahaha Tevye was so wasted last night lol

  • the bible teaches us.....never trust an employer.....LOL!

  • Have you ever been so drunk, you imagined a fiddler player....

  • @SwagLikeBass

I'd have liked too, but I've never been as drunk as to imagine that.

Gotta drink liters of vodka now. I'll be right back.

  • Random dance?

  • The theatricality of the fiddler in the beginning of this scene is great! xD

"Do you like it?" "It's... it's very nice." Hahaha out of context that quote is quite funny. LOL

  • The theatricality of the fiddler in the beginning of this scene is great! xD

  • "The moral of the story is, you can never trust an employer."

Boy, somebody skipped their theology course.

  • @Hethrin he is one of those who will make the communist revolution. it was a new modern way of thinking.

  • i LUVLES this musical

  • Tevye for President.

  • @mrceebees14 I Can See It Now Mr.Tevye Theres Been A Terrible Accident In The Middle East... Mr.Teve Responds Lets Drink To Life!!!!!! Now 3/4 of The Pouplation Is Wasted Dancing Togather! XD

  • @OriginalRum

Yeah. And the remaining quarter is probably too busy sleeping their booze off or vomiting somewhere outside, near the tavern. ^^

  • I don't really understand how that match could work. Alright, she'd be wealthy and well taken care of. But Lasar Wolf must be about sixty, he'd probably die before Tzeitel was even thirty. Then she'd be left unsupported, and an undesireable widow. (Unless of course she became a matchmaker like Yenta, but given her obvious resentment of matchmaking, that's unlikely to happen).

  • @reilly500 Hopefully she will have children and his "small fortune".

  • 5:56

Golde: "Oh dear God I thank thee!" *clap* "I thank thee!"

(Hung over) Tevye: *groans* "Why do you have to--" *mimes hand clapping*

I love that part so much.

  • u like it its very nice

  • How is name of the song/Theme of Perchik and Hodel?

  • it's like the fiddler is the puppet master +)

  • PERCHIK IS A BOLSHEVIK MORON!

    D=<

    GTFO YOU!

  • @Zecoatl

..I was under the impression that Perchik was fighting against that o_O Or is he is "a Bolshevik" he must not really know what it actually is.

  • "May the Lord smite me with it! And may I never recover!"

    Amen, Tevye, amen! XD

  • "Money's the world's curse !" "May the Lord smite me with it !" (: lol

  • and the vid ends right when he is about to ask. DARN YOU!

  • for once can you CHOOSE SOMEONE ELSE!

  • The fiddler is a bit creepy. Someone needs to punch that guy in the face just to stop him from SMILING!

  • @AForceOfHobbit

Why ? :-( Bad boy, bad !! let the nice fiddler alone !! :-)

    *I'm kidding. I'm kidding*

  • Did you see where the official mentioned a pogrom? He said it wouldn't be anything to worry about. A pogrom is never good!

  • the fiddler freaks me out a little

  • I know... I was just looking at him and going... what? What is going on with THAT GUY?

  • good God tevye must be having one hell of a hangover

  • haha right

  • ...There's definitely more than blood in his alcohol if he's seeing funny little men already.

  • the fiddler is a little bit sketchy looking......tevya is funny when he's drunk

  • 4:05

I love how he kicks the chicken out, lol

  • lol my friends and i used to make fun of it....poor chicken

  • -"money is the world's curse"

-"then may the good lord smite me with it.... and may i never recover!"

lol, i love how eccentric tevye is

  • @layDbugsandhuricanes money is indeed the world's curse, and even if we all want that curse, if there was no such curse, there'd be no poverty, no global warming, and there wouldn't have been slavery and millions would not have been slain for naught

  • @ejcastillof

Even without money, poverty would exist. We simply would have a different way to quantify it.

  • @Bluedrake89 but the grade of poverty wouldn't be as much. the problem of money is that it brings out greed

  • @ejcastillof

There was greed and poverty and slavery much before coins were ever invented.

  • @ejcastillof Wrong. There are places on the planet in which are inhabitable, yet are inhabited by peoples. Without money, there still will be starvation. Religion is more responsible for 'millions .... been slain' than money ever has been.

  • @krag3r but religion NOW doesn't kill people, and they did that with excuses covering for wanting power and land, which end up being as money, and i wasn't talking about religion, as corrupt as it was because of greedy ********

  • @layDbugsandhuricanes That's one of my favorite quotes!

  • @layDbugsandhuricanes eccentric hmmm... I'd call that having a personality. Seems like not bneing eccentric should be a shame. How bland. Waste a whole life on normal? What a crime!

  • Your the man Perchik! Breaking traditions, one step at a time ;)

  • @RiffRiff123 He reminds me of Robbie from Dinosaurs

  • That fiddler is sure fun LOL

  • Yea, that fiddler looks exactly like my guitar teacher... except for the bad teeth.
